Scape Logs part 4

[19:49:27] <Giantree> April 21st, 2072, 2:03 PM— Earth Public Solar Protection Dome #47. The two made their way through the artificial woods… hopefully ignoring the fakeness to the whole thing. And even more hopefully, there wouldn't be a grayscaling this time— at the very least, there hadn't been one in the past week. Or close enough to, anyway.
[19:51:29] * Hailey_Markane sighs as she plops down on the grass, laying out with her arms and legs splayed out. "does it ever get to you, Skye?"
[19:52:28] <Skye_Lyon> Skye sat down by Hailey, "Does what get to me? If you mean walking, then yeah, I'm kinda hungry."
[19:54:24] <Hailey_Markane> "not the walking…just how…fake everything is. It's probably why I like the Scape…what you see is what you get." leaning up from the ground, she raises an eye towards Skye "what didyou pack, anyway?"
[19:57:25] <Skye_Lyon> Skye dropped her bag beside her, "What bothers me is the distance between our lives here and in the Scape, the way the world could just move on without us… but now isn't the time to worry about it, I brought sandwiches and a canister of soup."
[19:58:59] <Hailey_Markane> "the world HAS moved on…no one talks about the school anymore. Grandpa was going on about some towers back on another continent that got blown up and how we're spoiled nowadays…"
[19:59:08] <Hailey_Markane> "maybe he's just bitter…"
[20:00:59] <Skye_Lyon> Skye frowned, "I guess that's just how it works, things move on, but I really don't want to become bitter like that."
[20:01:50] <Hailey_Markane> "I don't see myself as bitter so much as…not wanting to forget why we do this. You know what I mean?"
[20:02:25] * Hailey_Markane will munch on one of the sandwiches boredly
[20:02:52] <Skye_Lyon> "I'd like to really know why we are, to be honest. I mean, obviously to help people, but how?"
[20:03:45] <Hailey_Markane> "you're asking me like I'd have all the answers about how this works. Wish I did…"
[20:04:43] <Skye_Lyon> "I know that, but it always feels like everyone knows more than I do."
[20:04:45] <Giantree> More likely that nobody does, if anything— the few they could ask didn't seem like even they had the answers. But although there was a place they could go, it was still comforting to bask in the… fakeness this world had to offer. Their families and friends were still there, at the very least.
[20:05:42] <Hailey_Markane> "all I know is that whenever the world stops…it does things to me. It's something I can't describe…but it's like it's begging me to use my magic. You ever get that?"
[20:06:34] <Skye_Lyon> "Not other than when I have too much built up inside me. Usually when it stops, it feels like I'm being called somewhere."
[20:08:11] <Giantree> … And with their discussion came the paranoia that some omniscient being was watching them, listening, and was going to freeze time as they were thinking about it. But… that didn't quite happen. At least, not yet.
[20:08:46] <Hailey_Markane> "so it's just me…great." Hailey will sigh as she finishes get sandwich, digging around to see if she can find another. "I mean..maybe I should go after a wish of my own. I don't know what I'd want with it yet…but what Quartz said had some good points…"
[20:09:50] <Skye_Lyon> After reflecting over some soup, Skye nervously asked, "Hailey… what would happen if one day we refused the time stop, if we didn't hunt down the youma?"
[20:11:00] <Hailey_Markane> "not sure. If I had to guess, we would just wait out the time stop while someone else goes after the youma. Maybe Nanako will blow it up and take herself with it. But I'm probably not that lucky…"
[20:11:56] <Skye_Lyon> "I thought you said Nanako wasn't a bad person. That fight over the oblivion seed was a stupid idea…"
[20:13:05] <Hailey_Markane> "she is trying to bring the youma to our world. I can't see her ignoring that fact in good faith."
[20:14:04] <Skye_Lyon> "Puella magi, spellweavers, youma, guardians, Japan, the Scape, all this stuff makes trusting people so much more difficult."
[20:14:09] <Giantree> … And suddenly, from nearby was the sound of rustling leaves. A lot of them, at once.
[20:14:27] <Hailey_Markane> "hey, at least we have each oth-what's that?"
[20:15:18] * Hailey_Markane will drop a hand to her side, only to realize she doesn't have a firearm outside of her magical form.
[20:15:23] <Giantree> With a "mrrow" emerged a creature made of leaves… though, it definitely sounded like a cat. There wasn't a single part of its body uncovered.
[20:16:06] <Hailey_Markane> "this one again?" Hailey sighs. It was getting annoying.
[20:16:58] <Skye_Lyon> "See what I'm talking about? You were ready to draw on some randomly rustling leaves. It's that cat. This situation's messing up our senses of trust."
[20:18:02] <Hailey_Markane> "yeah…but what it's worth, the cat is a constant reminderof how little Nanako gives a damn about anything."
[20:19:30] <Hailey_Markane> "we have each other though, right?" Hailey will wrap her arms gently around Skye's shoulders
[20:20:15] <Skye_Lyon> Guilt painted itself across Skye's face as she weakly returned the hug, "I mutated an animal, too, doesn't that make me as bad?"
[20:20:35] <Giantree> As if tired of the two, the cat let out a "mrrow" as a small feline-sized vortex opened next to it— it jumped inside. … Wait, what?
[20:22:14] <Hailey_Markane> "you made its shadow do weird things. She turned it into a universal magnet." Hailey will try to console Skye but her eyes go wide when the CAT of all things opens a portal.
[20:22:21] <Hailey_Markane> "did that just…?"
[20:23:22] <Skye_Lyon> "Yeah, it did, but couldn't I have done even worse? I didn't decide to make its shadow weird? I just let it all loose on the dog, anything could have happened to it."
[20:24:16] <Hailey_Markane> "the fact that you feel guilt about it means you give a damn. I highly doubt she had that kind of care for things."
[20:25:06] <Hailey_Markane> "it was that, or have any number of things happen to you. You haven't forgotten Adrianne's mouth problem, have you?"
[20:25:41] <Skye_Lyon> Skye returned the hug for real this time, "Yeah, I guess. Thanks, but I'm not sure what I'll do if there's a next time."
[20:27:14] <Hailey_Markane> "find someone who deserves it. Barring that, let it go wild. It might be fun to let loose from time to time"
[20:27:52] <Skye_Lyon> "Weren't you just mad at Nanako's carelessness?"
[20:28:40] <Hailey_Markane> "I was. And I still am. But there are times when you have no choice. And even then, I did everything I could to minimize the risk to you and the others.
[20:29:22] <Skye_Lyon> Skye stared down in embarrassment, not wanting to think about that incident
[20:29:35] <Hailey_Markane> "my take is that the important thing is limiting collateral damage. If you need to explode, do so where no one gets hurt."
[20:30:37] <Hailey_Markane> "Nanako doesn't get that. She doesn't care who gets caught up in the blast radius. But I care. And I'm pretty sure you care too. We get it."
[20:30:55] <Skye_Lyon> "I'd rather just not build it up in the first place. So I don't have to take the chance"
[20:31:56] <Hailey_Markane> "it's a choice of damnations. Slough it off on something else and hope it doesn't make something like that…or let it out and try to minimize the destruction."
[20:33:33] <Skye_Lyon> "Or… or take it myself, like she did. After all, it might be just a weird shadow, not a mouth or anything."
[20:34:59] <Hailey_Markane> "youre a lot more brave than I am…I'll say that." Standing up, Hailey stretched with a grunt. "I have half a mind to see what that cat is up to…what do you think?"
[20:36:03] <Skye_Lyon> "Yeah, I don't think it should've been opening portals like that."
[20:38:15] <Hailey_Markane> "if only I could stop time…" Hailey will look up, as if some kind of unseen deity would do her a solid and give them a chance to make their way to the Scape in peace
[20:40:26] <Giantree> … More than that. A portal opened for them by itself, as though somebody were listening the whole time— and a voice came from the other side, at that. "Took long enough, don'tcha think?" Of course, to them the voice wasn't so familiar… but something made them feel like it was about to be. The world grayscaled, but that shouldn't even be a question.
[20:43:17] <Skye_Lyon> Skye opened her mouth as if to say something, but reconsidered, instead stepping through the portal to find the answer to her unasked question first hand
[20:43:36] <Hailey_Markane> As waves of magic crashed into Hailey's mind, her body reacted violently with a sharp moan that sent her arcing backwards from the force of the feeling. "l-l-like that…" She stammers that out, before following Skye into the portal
[20:44:57] <Giantree> As they entered, the portal closed behind them with a VWOOP. And of all places to find themselves, they stood… not in the town square, quite— but it was the closest they'd get. There was a massive crater there the town square obviously once was, and all they could see from the edge was a straight path down to nothing. Or at least, from the angle at which they stood that was all they saw.
[20:45:43] <Giantree> … But of course, that wasn't it; the source of the voice was a young-looking girl holding a cat. And rolling around the ground with it, meowing at it as she went. Of course, it goes without saying that it meowed back. "Yo!"
[20:46:18] <Hailey_Markane> "…I'm going to guess Nanako was here recently…" Hailey quips dryly before looking at the young girl. "who are you?"
[20:48:07] <Skye_Lyon> "Was this… you, or Nanako? It looks like Nanako's handiwork, to my eyes."
[20:48:07] <Giantree> Rolling session coming to a halt, she set the cat on the ground and stood up, brushing herself off. "Go tak'a nap, Poofy." With a cough like she'd scripted the speech out, she stared at Hailey with bright eyes and started— it's notable that her midriff was still showing and the outfit was generally unpleasant to look at. Or something like that. "Name's Lita. Time's my deal. Pleasure!"
[20:48:52] <Giantree> A hand was extended toward Hailey, face beaming. The cat ran off, as well.
[20:50:05] * Hailey_Markane will shake Lita's hand, very gingerly "I'm Hailey."
[20:53:00] <Skye_Lyon> Skye looks over Lita in confusion, "So… the whole time stop thing, that's been you all along? Oh, by the way, my name's Skye."
[20:54:24] <Giantree> And with a grin she turned to Skye next, extending the same hand. "Yeah, s'all my handiwork. Real pain'n the ass t'do, too, but I've been at it so long… time kinda feels like family t'me, y'know?" After her work with introductions was done, she let out another cough. "Anyway! I'm callin' all the magic-users I can get here… one of 'them' popped up. And it's a biggun."
[20:55:33] <Hailey_Markane> "them?" Hailey will look at Skye, but she's pretty sure she knows what it is. "well, I guess it's a good thing were here"
[20:55:57] <Skye_Lyon> Skye shaked the girl's hand, "Hey, are you hungry? We brought food wi-oh, I forgot to bring it through the portal…"
[20:56:34] <Hailey_Markane> "I think I ate most of it anyway…" Hailey rubs the back of her head sheepishly
[20:58:20] <Giantree> Seriousness of the scene dissipating, she smiled and let out a depressing giggle. "Food, huh… must be nice~ I haven't had a bite t'eat in a decade'r so. Kinda miss it… but kinda don't." She took her seat on the ground, back facing the crater. Standing was uncomfortable or something. Regardless, she looked up and stared at the sky.. like it was something she didn't get to do often.
[20:59:04] <Hailey_Markane> "a decade? Thats…weird." If Skye were to look, she would see that Hailey's pendant is still around her neck and is glowing. Neither of which is natural for the girl in her winged state.
[21:00:53] <Giantree> And they'd notice Lita didn't have a pendant of her own— though, there was a jewel as a sort of hair accessory, with a small white feather attacked to it. A small amethyst, it looked like.
[21:04:34] <Skye_Lyon> "Are you alright, Hailey? Magic bugs you, right? Don't overdo it. And Lita, how come you don't eat? Can you?"
[21:05:17] <Hailey_Markane> "I…feel fine. But it's never done that before…"
[21:06:13] <Giantree> She shrugged. "Dunno— once yer here, all that stuff's optional. Eat, sleep, emotions… sure, you CAN do them, but you can live without 'em. I'm sure after livin' on the outside that sounds pretty scary though… m'bad."
[21:07:15] <Hailey_Markane> "huh…" Hailey wonders about that. She then decides there are too many foods she would miss too much if she just up and quit eating.
[21:07:42] <Skye_Lyon> Skye glanced at Hailey, "Is that true? When I push myself too hard here, my emotions go out of control."
[21:08:14] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia walks forward and out into the open, looking around until she spotted Lita… "… …", Althaia really wasn't… all there for now… She was filled with unshaking anger…
[21:08:47] <Hailey_Markane> "right now I don't feel any different…but usually it disappears or something when I transform. For some reason it hasn't yet.
[21:09:50] <Hailey_Markane> "and i just hope that nothing bad happens. But I can't guess about what it means…
[21:09:51] <Giantree> She shook her head with a smile. "Bein' magical and bein "human" are… well, different. Those emotional reactions y'bring up are yer "human" side's reaction to becoming "magical"… give it a few years'n it'll all disappear." But then she noticed Althaia and waved, ignorant as to her state. "Oh, g'mornin'!"
[21:10:35] <Skye_Lyon> "Well, keep an eye on it, and if something goes wrong, I've got yo-did you just say they'd disappear? My human side will disappear?"
[21:11:37] <Giantree> Nod. "Yeah, magic does that t'ya. After a while you'll probably stop thinkin' about things like death… and anger. Maybe even love. But that's good, right?"
[21:11:49] <Hailey_Markane> "that's…that's crazy!" Hailey is similarly taken aback. All thoughts of her pendant mystery took a backseat to this."
[21:12:23] <Althaia_Atrum> "… … … ", Althaia didn't talk… she was still trapped in thought…
[21:12:49] <Skye_Lyon> "Do we stop growing, too? Am I going to be stuck in the body of a 13 year old forever?"
[21:13:02] <Hailey_Markane> "I mean, my magic seems like it's strongest when my emotions are running hot! If I lose that…I'll be a spellweavers without spells!"
[21:13:42] <Althaia_Atrum> "… … …", Mr.Scarf tried to comfort Althaia by patting her on the head with an open palm, but it didn't really work…
[21:13:46] <Giantree> Nodnod this time. Doublenod. "Yeah… well, take a guess. How long d'ya think I've looked like this? Tryin' to say yer not proud of it?" She beat her chest triumphantly… okay, maybe not "beat." But at least it was emphasized.
[21:15:18] <Skye_Lyon> "Is it possible to avoid this stuff? Can we opt out, or something?"
[21:15:41] <Althaia_Atrum> "No…"
[21:15:45] <Hailey_Markane> "well…we could wish for it…" Hailey offers up meekly.
[21:16:32] <Althaia_Atrum> "The wish..", the girl was mad and depressed at the sametime… "That old man…"
[21:16:45] <Giantree> Still on the ground, her head tilted. "Opt… out of magic? Leave the Scape to die? I s'pose you could never transform and stay'n the outside the resta yer life… and maybe those biological functions'd start back up again. But… there're only a few who'cn save this place. Y'just gonna leave it?"
[21:18:33] <Skye_Lyon> Skye shot Hailey a look of meaning she could only guess, "If you don't have emotions, why do you fight for the Scape? Why do you care?"
[21:19:22] <Hailey_Markane> "…" Hailey doesn't know what to think. But she might have an idea…
[21:19:53] <Hailey_Markane> "how long has it been since you last were on the outside?"
[21:20:05] <Giantree> With a smile, she stood up and walked to Althaia. At least she wasn't a COMPLETE emotionless monster. But on her way, she shot a glance back to Skye, "I think ya misunderstood. Death, fear, love… they're all gone. But I'm not doin' this fr'me. If I didn't stay here, take care'a the garden, watch you kids… Ambrosia would be sad. I can't do that t'her, I promised."
[21:21:11] <Althaia_Atrum> "… Well… Thanks, Lita…", the girl smiled, looking toward her friends Hailey and Skye and then to Lita… "If our emotions are bound to dissapear… I don't care… I just want to protect the ones I love…"
[21:21:28] <Giantree> "And uh… how many years would that be… dunno, I lost count. Maybe ten, maybe twenny— time's all mine now, I'm sure it could be however long I think it is."
[21:22:07] <Hailey_Markane> "how can you protect ones you love If you can't feel love to begin with?" Hailey will challenge Althaia to that point, before thinking.
[21:22:09] <Giantree> But with one more smile, she put a hand on Althaia's shoulder. "He told you, right? If y'know that much then… go do it. For her."
[21:22:44] <Althaia_Atrum> "My mom did it… so can I…"
[21:22:45] <Giantree> The free hand she had pointed in the direction of a powerful magical presence. Probably the most powerful one they'd felt yet.
[21:23:26] <Althaia_Atrum> "Alright… I will.. but … what are you pointing… at?"
[21:23:36] <Hailey_Markane> "if you've been here for that long…then that could explain the symptoms. But the three of us…we tend to come and go. Not long durations."
[21:24:25] <Hailey_Markane> "I'm just guessing…but since we experience the scape in much shorter bursts, shouldn't that mean the…symptoms…would take longer to have an effect on us?"
[21:24:45] <Skye_Lyon> Skye raised her eyebrows at Hailey's point on love, curious about the answer
[21:25:38] <Giantree> "Yeah. I brought this'n myself… I'm sure it'll be a long time before it b'comes anywhere near that bad. Who knows, maybe ya'll get yer wish b'fore then?" The direction she pointed in didn't need to be backed up with words— everybody could feel the magic pretty strongly. It was extremely hostile, too— as though it was lashing out at them.
[21:27:26] <Althaia_Atrum> "Alright… Guys, let's go…", Althaia sounded neither happy or sad… Just like she was doing a job.
[21:28:15] <Skye_Lyon> Skye grabbed Althaia's shoulder, "You… you still have your emotions, right?!"
[21:28:16] <Hailey_Markane> "Right…" Hailey's cheeks were starting to turn pink as she hopped up into the air a few feet.
[21:28:43] <Giantree> And she might as well have been. Exterminating the youma was a job all of them had accepted… and as they just learned, it was one they could probably leave whenever they wanted. But the fact that none of them made that choice said more than enough about their collective resolve.
[21:30:01] <Althaia_Atrum> "I guess… ", the girl was … still in that neutral demeanor… She honestly didn't care much for herself right now… More concerned with the matters of her brother and father more than anything.
[21:33:31] <Hailey_Markane> "look…let's just find this th-thing and get out." Hailey tripped over the word, slurring the rest of the sentence together.
[21:33:51] <Giantree> Althaia's scarf raised itself to her cheek… but then brought itself back down. Even it knew the girl was the only one who could sort out her own feelings.
[21:35:05] <Giantree> Nevertheless, ahead of them was the presence— and it definitely wasn't in the sky this time. But then again, how else were they going to get there? Walking?
[21:36:31] <Hailey_Markane> Given her pace, Hailey was more or less walking, if not for the fact she is a foot and a half above the ground as she does so.
[21:36:37] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl looked forward, not showing any facial expressions.. Just that same, bland look on her face… Mr.Scarf rose both tails into the air, forming into the wings as they beat against the cold night air, raising the girl into flight.
[21:36:45] <Giantree> As they went on their way still, Lita was of course on the ground waving for them. With a smile and a "Good luck!," of course.
[21:36:48] <Skye_Lyon> Skye grabbed Hailey and formed her eyebubble, taking off towards the presence. Using the barrier to create enough privacy, Skye asked, "What do you think about wishing for magi to retain humanity?"
[21:37:29] <Hailey_Markane> "looking better every minute."
[21:38:31] <Hailey_Markane> "but that's 10 seeds down the road. One step at a time, okay?"
[21:39:28] <Skye_Lyon> "Yeah, this just… terrifies me. I can't lose my ability to love, why would I want to live?"
[21:40:53] <Giantree> But the trip wasn't as long as they seemed to think it would be— the presence led them to a stairway leading underground. Much like the entrance to Quartz'… lair, though Skye and Hailey probably didn't see that part considering how they came in through a portal.
[21:41:18] <Hailey_Markane> "you don't have to remind me. But at the same time…like I said, we get smaller doses over a longer period of time. We aren't on as stringent a clock as she was - and I know I can keep your emotions active." Hailey playfully poked Skye in the arm.
[21:44:51] <Skye_Lyon> Skye tried to squirm away from the poke, but failed in the confines of the bubble, "I don't think teasing's going to save us… but at least having time to work with is reassuring, thanks."
[21:45:44] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia landed and proceeded to walk down the staircase, paying no mind to Skye or Hailey…
[21:46:15] <Hailey_Markane> "I do what I can for you. Now let's go…" Hailey will hop out of the eye bubble…before falling flat on her face.
[21:46:50] <Skye_Lyon> The bubble vanished and Skye offered Hailey a hand up, "Let's not get left behind."
[21:46:53] <Giantree> Ignoring the two teasing, she saw a subway— and a pretty lengthy one, too. Though, the place was still in ruin and there was rubble everywhere. However, ahead of her there was a… a 'puddle,' considering there aren't many ways to phrase it. Far down the tunnel was blackness that seemed to be spreading out toward them.
[21:47:45] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia continued to walk forward as steam gathered into her palm, forming her signature long sword… Mr.Scarf brought up both of its claws, opening them, ready to disembowl anything that came their way…
[21:48:08] <Hailey_Markane> "thans…I dunno was gon on…" Hailey's speech was getting smooshed together and it was hard to tell which was more luminescent: her cheeks or the pendant on her chest.
[21:49:26] <Skye_Lyon> Skye laughed at the lisp before jogging after Althaia, "I'm sorry, it shouldn't be funny. I'll get you a bandaid or something later, so hurry up."
[21:50:18] <Giantree> But for Hailey 'hurrying up' was getting more and more difficult by the second… it was like that fever was coming back again. She almost felt she was on fire, though it didn't show anymore than it already had from the outside.
[21:51:28] <Althaia_Atrum> In her mind… Althaia was going to finish this youma on her own without putting those two in danger… She didn't want a repeat of last time… so now, she wasn't afraid anymore… She would die if need be.
[21:51:35] <Hailey_Markane> She tried. She really did. But something inside her wouldn't let the girl keep up the pace. It was fighting. It wanted out. And in putting that down, she barely had the energy to keep up. But she tried.
[21:53:01] <Hailey_Markane> "canni…takabrek? …kthx" Hailey was panting, feathers from her wings falling off with each beat.
[21:53:16] <Giantree> And the closer she got to the puddle… no, the nightmare, it called out to her. Not the nightmare, but something else. Something inside of her. It felt like moreso than herself, she was going to set everything on fire… or, you know, something like that. Either way, as she approached it felt as though it was going to force itself out. Possibly gruesomely.
[21:54:20] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia continued to walk forward, eyes focused on her front while she left the back to Hailey and Skye…
[21:54:50] <Skye_Lyon> Skye looked at Hailey in concern, "Hailey, you don't look well. What's wrong? If you're too sick, please go home, don't risk your safety over nothing."
[21:56:10] <Hailey_Markane> "wha…wha…haaa~…" Hailey shook her head. It was coming. Nothing she could do would stop it. But deep down…she knew it would help. And so in her last fit of delirium, she embraced it.
[21:58:22] <Althaia_Atrum> The brown headed girl continued to step forward, walking on she didn't look behind to check on her friends… Her only concern was destroying whatever "that" was.
[21:58:25] <Hailey_Markane> What followed could only be described as a howl, wrought from the explosion of emotion that consumed her, filling her soul with light and every nerve with a near impossible high that defied description. Flames erupted from her body, encasing her in a cocoon of molten warmth while the flames of her soul reshaped the girl's form in its image.
[21:59:28] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia snapped out of her trance as she looked back, examining Hailey… "…"
[22:01:31] <Hailey_Markane> When the fires finally died down, what stood before them was an angel of holy wrath. Bright white wings were at her back, her new form clothed in a deep blue blouse and a short white skirt, white boots coming up to her knees.
[22:02:25] <Skye_Lyon> Skye screamed during the sudden outburst and subsequent blast, when Hailey emerged, she stuttered out, "H-h-hailey, are you… o-okay?"
[22:02:43] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia closed her eyes, really not caring for Hailey's new form… She continued to walk on… What a change of character.. Normally she'd be all over that stuff…
[22:03:49] <Hailey_Markane> "I…I think so…" Hailey finally opened her eyes, inspecting her new form. "what happened to me?"
[22:04:44] <Skye_Lyon> "You screeched, and then lit on fire, and came out different. It was sudden… and scary."
[22:05:04] <Giantree> Regardless of how awesome Hailey's new form was, the Nightmare didn't wait for them— it shot out, covering the tunnel up to where they were. And replaced it with a new tunnel… but in said tunnel the walls became flickering shapes and patterns, just like some of the other youma they've seen. Fortunately, in this case, there was no maze or door puzzle— only a straight path ahead.
[22:05:52] <Hailey_Markane> "oh…all I remember was this…thing…and…" another blush lit up Hailey's face. Aside from the new wardrobe, the girl inside the clothes seemed to be okay.
[22:08:13] <Skye_Lyon> "If you're alright, you better show off something cool when we get to the youma!"
[22:08:53] <Hailey_Markane> "I'll try…" With a surge of newfound confidence, Hailey leaps back into the air, sailing ahead.
[22:09:31] <Skye_Lyon> Skye trailed behind Hailey, hurrying down the path to the aggressive youma
[22:10:09] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl continued to walk forward regardless of the change in scenery… Althaia's walk broke into a run, Mr.Scarf's two tails lashing out and forming into wings… They flap and beat against the air, lifting Althaia into the air and whisking her down the tunnel.
[22:10:32] <Giantree> The path continued straight ahead… and not far down it they saw a figure. It was fairly small, and looked like some kind of… crocodile? Alligator? Dinosaur? It had small wings attached to its body, but they didn't seem large enough to allow for flight. Either way, it snarled at the group.
[22:14:25] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl sprinted forward, holding her blade horizontally as she leaped into the air, bringing her sword down to slash at the foe.
[22:15:26] <Giantree> The wings on the creature's back - tiny as they were - folded up to completely block the blade. Afterward, it lunged forth, biting at the girl— though, its teeth didn't turn out to be very sharp. Like it was some kind of hatchling… wait, that's not the right word to use. Oh, whatever! It's a hatchling.
[22:15:58] <Althaia_Atrum> Skidding back, Althaia held out a hand to keep balance… "Grr.."
[22:16:50] <Skye_Lyon> "After we kill this thing, its momma's going to be furious."
[22:20:09] <Hailey_Markane> Too late. Hailey has a bead on the t-wait a minute…this wasn't her old gun. Gone was the polished metal of the 6-shooting revolver, a jet black pistol in its holster. "hope this works just as well…" Hailey will squeeze off three rounds of hellfire aimed at the beast.
[22:21:27] <Giantree> Circumventing Althaia who stood in front of the creature, the bullets pierced through its skin and caused it to… well, melt. The shifting pictures on the tunnel walls taunted them, and said tunnel continued onward— in addition, there was an earth-shaking roar that came from far deeper in the tunnel, causing a few small rocks - in the form of those shifting shapes - to fall to the ground.
[22:23:01] <Hailey_Markane> "still works…" Hailey will blow the smoke from the barrel before holstering it. But she should apologize to Althy…she could have been hit.
[22:26:29] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia didn't… even care she almost got it… Her only concern was the creature… Picking herself up, Althaia leaped into the air, Mr.Scarf's wings flapping, she headed farther in…
[22:26:35] <Hailey_Markane> "you hit or anything?"
[22:27:19] <Giantree> And it seemed like Hailey was ignored. Poor kid. Still, the tunnel crept out in front of them, and there was plenty of time for conversation AFTER they were finished… or something along those lines.
[22:27:23] <Skye_Lyon> "Woo, where'd you learn to obliterate stuff like that? You've gotten really strong really fast."
[22:28:10] <Hailey_Markane> "I…don't know. Maybe it's the hardware. Maybe bursting…triggered something. I wish I knew."
[22:30:12] <Skye_Lyon> Skye started walking, joking, "Well, let's keep moving, and try not to leave me TOO far behind in firepower, alright?"
[22:30:13] <Giantree> Althaia made her way forward again… and instead of last time's treat, met with something that would probably a LITTLE less simple to handle on her own— two of the hatchlings, screeching and growling in her direction. They stood next to each other, and looked fairly coordinated.
[22:37:35] <Althaia_Atrum> "TAKE..THIS!", Althaia cocked her head back, breathing in a large quantity of air… before swinging her head forward, breathing out a massive burst of steam that engulfed the entirety of the hall and the creatures before her… The intense heat from the steam was far too grand for any normal creature to handle…
[22:38:18] <Giantree> While the steam probably wasn't to comfortable for Hailey and Skye on their way toward her, it certainly caused these two to 'melt' as well. The tunnel continued ahead, and the roars were as close as ever…
[22:39:16] <Skye_Lyon> "Are you kidding me? Did everybody other than me suddenly get super powers or something?"
[22:39:27] <Hailey_Markane> "is it me…or was that the kind of rage that reminds you she's still human?" Hailey has a smirk on her face.

[22:39:27] <Hailey_Markane> "is it me…or was that the kind of rage that reminds you she's still human?" Hailey has a smirk on her face.
[22:40:06] <Skye_Lyon> Skye nodded quietly to Hailey, not wanting to anger Althaia
[22:40:39] <Giantree> … Not like she could hear either of them, with how far ahead she was. To the two of them, the tunnel still had a pretty lengthy stretch ahead.
[22:41:12] <Giantree> Meanwhile, from Althaia's own perspective, 'Mr. Scarf' was pulling her forward more than she herself was— either it was really eager to fight or… something else.
[22:41:15] <Hailey_Markane> "you know…if you wanted…I could try to lend you some of my power…" Given the look on Hailey's face, said "loan" would likely come at a very….compromising price.
[22:42:26] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl was lead by Mr.Scarf.. but… Althaia was determined to do this on her own… She didn't want her friends in danger… so she sprinted forward with the scarf flapping against the air, bringing her into flight once again.
[22:42:57] <Skye_Lyon> Skye picked up the pace, "What are you talking about? Let's catch up with Althaia."
[22:43:19] <Hailey_Markane> "never mind…" Hailey sighs as the two give chase
[22:44:34] <Giantree> As she rushed ahead… the tunnel suddenly dropped off. Into a massive area that could only be called a 'coliseum,' for lack of a better term to describe a humongous circular room like the one she had just found herself in. But that said absolutely nothing about the.. creature she would find herself face-to-face with as she made her way inside. One that took up the entire room.
[22:46:01] <Giantree> The massive horn on its head was prevalent as the ancient creature with skin that looked hard as stone all over its body opened its mouth… not to roar, but to speak. And contrary to popular belief, its voice was a masculine one. "Welcome… child of man."
[22:51:10] <Althaia_Atrum> "Hello.. and good bye…", Althaia blasted forward with the aid of Mr.Scarf's flight… Holding the long sword into the air, it extended into the air, easily around 50 ft tall… The girl brought the large blade down into the monster, slashing it.
[22:52:27] <Giantree> The dragon-esque beast - actually no, the dragon - that filled the room winced slightly as the blade was brought onto the creature's back. It didn't budge, nor did much seem to change. "I've seen impatience like this before…"
[22:57:30] <Althaia_Atrum> "Tch… …", Althaia continued to push the sword into the beast but to no avale…
[22:57:45] <Giantree> Fortunately for it, the girl didn't move from in front of it— not the wisest decision, as some fantasy novels would probably tell you, when facing a dragon. Something that could barely be classified as flames, but instead… some kind of bizarre smoke emerged from its mouth, shooting into Althaia like a cannon. And it was at that time that she could SWEAR she heard her mother's voice…
[22:58:07] <Giantree> … Or at least felt some sort of deja vu. This kind of combat was what she was made for, it felt like. And there was something happening within her to accent that fact.
[23:03:25] <Althaia_Atrum> Althaia's eyes widened as the scarf engulfed herA massive white cyclone spurred forth around the girl, forming a visor on her head which held the resemblance to a dragon, shining a bright white… Her dress was different… It was longer and lined with chain mail. The metal boots began to shine with a golden light…
[23:03:57] <Althaia_Atrum> Lastly, the scarf was longer and took up less of her neck and was thinner and stretched out more then before…
[23:07:24] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl spun her swo-… … No… IT was.. a lance now?… Spinning the lance above her head and bringing it forward with both hands, she struck a pose, facing the dragon…
[23:07:30] <Althaia_Atrum> She was a Holy Dragoon alright…
[23:10:10] * Hailey_Markane will enter the coliseum amazed. First she changed, now Althy? Maybe there was something about this place…
[23:10:28] <Hailey_Markane> "Hey Skye! Try to see if you can do something like that!"
[23:12:55] <Skye_Lyon> Skye dashed up with Hailey, spotting the monstrous dragon. Althaia apparently transformed, too, so Skye decided to buy her time by firing off bolts of white energy from eyes all over her body
[23:14:40] <Skye_Lyon> "I don't think so, Hailey."
[23:15:04] <Giantree> And they fired straight into the dragon's body… though, Skye didn't seem to be feeling any sudden magical energy or something. What a shame. Still, she kept up more than her fair share of usefulness - contrary to her own belief - as the dragon actually winced a bit at the energy bolts.
[23:17:49] * Hailey_Markane will take advantage of the situation. Ripping her new gun out of it's holster, Hailey will squeeze the trigger, a stream of flames erupting from the barrel
[23:20:09] <Giantree> The creature winced again, though only slightly— its body was massive, and there was even plenty of walking space along its back. Considering how much movement it had done this far, it didn't seem to be incredible agile.
[23:20:16] <Giantree> Incredibly agile, even.
[23:25:41] <Adrianne_Lavender> Suddenly from out of nowhere someone yells out, "SHADOW BIND!" as several shadows from the cave darted, they seem to Adriane's but the have this shimmering quality to them, alsmost as if they had glass on the outside. The Shadows quickly try to envelop and pierce the dragon's mouth and trying to pin the dragon itself to the ground.
[23:30:12] <Giantree> With a roar, the dragon found itself successfully pinned— while it didn't quite bleed, the spears clearly penetrated its stone-esque skin. It didn't speak much either, considering its mouth was the target… but a flash in its eye made it seem like it had something else up its sleeve. Er… claw.
[23:32:24] * Adrianne_Lavender reveals herself waist deep on one of the rocks' shadows behind the group, "Sorry I'm late, Lita told me everything and I finally caught up to you."
[23:33:02] * Adrianne_Lavender pulls herself out of the sheadow
[23:40:49] <Giantree> Pierced by the shadows, a roar came from somewhere… that wasn't the creature's mouth, apparently. But it still echoed, and as it did the ground and walls formed themselves into multiple blades - spears, in fact, that shot across the room aiming at the group. Yet, they all seemed to dodge with ease.
[23:42:17] * Adrianne_Lavender parries one or two of the blades that she couldn't dodge with a shadow shield while moving around.
[23:43:13] <Skye_Lyon> Optical blasts destroyed everything the walls sent Skye's way
[23:43:22] <Hailey_Markane> "woah!" Hailey barely dodges the spears, eventually retreating to higher skies.
[23:43:59] <Althaia_Atrum> Spinning the lance, Althaia leaped high into the air… Unseen.
[23:45:10] <Adrianne_Lavender> Those that look back will notice that the stone Adri was coming out off no longer has a shadow, and Adrianne is now wearing a shield.
[23:48:42] <Skye_Lyon> With her allies by and large taking to the air, Skye assaulted the dragon from the ground, hoping to turn its attention away from the upcoming aerial attacks
[23:49:31] <Giantree> And it turned its attention toward Skye… which wasn't the greatest of signs. Spears no longer piercing its face, the creature snorted at her. "What… do you fight for, girl?"
[23:51:19] <Skye_Lyon> "I'm here to help the world become a better place, and you're in the way."
[23:53:01] <Hailey_Markane> Hailey will take the dragon's distraction as a chance to fire off another volley…*click*
[23:53:55] <Hailey_Markane> *click*click*click*click* "Oh COME ON!" Hailey's patience quickly deteriorates as she has to focus on the malfunctioning weapon.
[23:54:30] <Giantree> And while it seemed like the creature was distracted by Skye— it wasn't. Hailey faced the wrath of the creature's much-more-agile-than-expected tail as it swung from its grounded position, likely knocking her against one of the coliseum walls.
[23:54:48] <Adrianne_Lavender> The shield in Adrianne's hand gets bigger and grows spikes as the objects around her lose their shadows. It spins with a lout whirring noise before launching itself to attack the beast right between the eyes. "TAKE THIS!"
[23:56:15] <Giantree> The dragon blinked, but for the most part it didn't seem very damaged. Just a little annoyed.
[23:56:58] <Adrianne_Lavender> The shield plinks off its forehead and then dissipates into the air
[00:02:07] <Giantree> From the creature's nostrils came the same smoke that attacked Althaia before… though this time they didn't shoot out in steams, but instead attempted to fill the area. Adrianne and Skye weren't so dumb as to stay in the area apparently, and on top of that the creature left itself wide open for attack.
[00:03:36] * Adrianne_Lavender quickly melds into the shadows and attacks with a set of glistening shadow missles from one of the walls.
[00:04:13] <Skye_Lyon> Skye was pissed off at the dragon beating on Hailey, and her eyes reflected the fact as they gathered into one angry one to shoot a pulse of black energy at the dragon, "Keep that up and I'll give you more than the Evil Eye."
[00:04:52] * Hailey_Markane groans as she peels herself from the wall. That did hurt…but she had taken worse blows and lived. Too bad her gun was useless…
[00:06:09] <Giantree> The draconic creature let out what almost sounded like a laugh. "Ha… spirit! You have spirit!" The wings on its back began beating as suddenly, the coliseum walls began to shatter, leaving behind a seemingly infinite expanse of the 'shifting shapes' that came with most youma's Nightmares. "Then we shall take to the skies!" The floor dissipated as well… and with it, shadows.
[00:07:45] * Adrianne_Lavender is shunted out of the shadows looking really confused, "Wha-?" She maages to say before she starts falling.
[00:08:36] * Hailey_Markane dives down in an effort to save Adrianne. "I gotcha!"
[00:10:46] * Adrianne_Lavender grabs Hailey's hand, "Thanks." She says as one of the black-gold leafs turns into a 'broom' which she propltly grabs.
[00:11:31] <Hailey_Markane> "don't mention it. Now let's finish this!"
[00:11:46] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl blasted down from the sky with the lance outward and an aura of energy swirling around her. Althaia smashed down onto the dragon's head with the lance piercing it.
[00:12:54] <Adrianne_Lavender> "Can't fly as I used to." she says as the wooden thing takes a perfectly perpendicular with respect to the gravity of the place. She sits down on it and says, "You can let go now."
[00:12:55] <Giantree> But, while the dragon winced in pain, its ascent didn't stop. Its wings beat faster and faster until it turned the opposite direction of the tunnel and began flying along a seemingly infinite path of shifting shapes which blurred in the background as it moved faster and faster. And the group would have to either hitch a ride or speed up to follow it.
[00:14:53] * Hailey_Markane will pick up the pace. Forget the headache. Forget the lack of a gun. Focus on the beast trying to flee. "I won't let you get away!"
[00:17:39] * Adrianne_Lavender shoots out after it the broom making a whistiling noise as it speeds along
[00:20:29] * Adrianne_Lavender brings her hand up to her face and mutters what sounds like something incoherent before extending her hand and balls of darkness head to each of the other girls, infusing themselves in their weapons.
[00:24:35] <Adrianne_Lavender> "You'll hit him harder with that!" She yells out
[00:28:18] * Hailey_Markane mutters thanks, the darkness tinting her spirit…but she could use that…focusing her mind, she drew on that darkness, infusing it with her soul's light…
[00:28:57] <Hailey_Markane> "Darkflare Burst!" a black orb of toxic flames erupted from her palms, rocketing towards the escaping beast
[00:32:18] <Giantree> The orbs tore into the creature's wings, causing its flight pattern to be harmed— sending it spiraling into Skye who was flying alongside it, of all things. The dragon's entire body was… not a thing to be trifled with, really, especially when you're a spellcaster wearing nothing but a jumpsuit. The moment flashed… colorlessly before her eyes.
[00:33:10] <Giantree> And that's when the shifting shapes stopped. The fighting stopped. Even the music that the narrator was playing stopped, but that might've been more of a concentration issue. Standing where the dragon was while she stopped moving was a person… two people. One of them much younger, the other much older. Familiar faces.
[00:33:32] <Giantree> The smaller one pouted and glared at her. "So that's it, huh?"
[00:33:55] <Giantree> And the older one looked to the side, as if embarrassed. "I thought you'd be able to do better than this."
[00:34:46] <Skye_Lyon> "Shut up, I'm still alive, aren't I? Right?"
[00:35:07] <Giantree> Celeste looked down, fiddling with her fingers a bit. "Well uh…"
[00:35:52] <Giantree> Tara was the one to stop her, walking forward. "You're alone. That's your problem. Your biggest one, and maybe your only one."
[00:36:33] <Skye_Lyon> "I'm not alone, you're both right here!"
[00:36:56] <Giantree> After a brief pause, the two looked at each other and smiled. Then back to her. "Is that it?"
[00:38:02] <Skye_Lyon> "Is what it? You guys aren't making any sense and shouldn't be here."
[00:38:49] <Giantree> The younger sibling pouted a bunched and walked in circles around her. "Must suck to have a big downer like you as a friend. You're just holding the rest back, too!"
[00:39:39] <Giantree> Tara looked down on her from her position. "Are you just going to leave us behind, too?"
[00:40:17] <Skye_Lyon> "I'm not leaving anybody behind and I'm not gonna hold anyone back."
[00:40:54] <Giantree> Celeste walked right in front of her face. "Then what the crap are you doing down there? Get up!"
[00:48:29] <Skye_Lyon> Skye got up, and as she did, energy flooded from the eyes all over her body, forming a large egg of an eyeball. The "pupil" cracked, then the whole egg shattered, leaving Skye now clothed in white robes with black colored eye designs all throughout and her staff in hand
[01:00:20] <Skye_Lyon> She held her staff up high, and two eyes lit up. From the left, a white blast hit the crystal eye of the staff, and from the right, a black one. At their simultaneous impact, the staff released a rainbow colored blast straight at the dragon, "Optical Refraction!"
[01:04:44] <Giantree> And the dragon's falling was halted by the beam, knocking it back in the complete other direction— as it regained its position the creature began flying faster and faster. Until suddenly there was only one person in its vicinity— the one who was on top of it. Althaia. Leaving the rest behind it encased itself in what seemed to be some sort of fire or energy burst, aided by the smoke
[01:04:55] <Giantree> from its nostrils. "Daughter of Ambrosia! Show me your resolve!"
[01:08:00] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl put a maniacal smirk on her face, "Well.. YOU ASKED FOR IT!", the magical energy pent up inside of her releases, her armor completely changes into that of her own mother's… The skirt shortens and the leggings grow… Her body glows a bright gold as her eyes permiate a blasting steam.
[01:12:01] <Althaia_Atrum> "Don't blink, ok? SAPPHIRE…", the girl rapidly slashes the beast over and over with a combination of the spear and sword… Pretty soon the beast was covered in glaring, blue sparkles… "CATACLYSM!", the girl leaps into the air, throwing the lance high into the air and extending the blade of the sword atleast 100 ft… Bringing it crashing down and through the dragon, cleaving it
[01:12:01] <Althaia_Atrum> in two… The speark falls from the sky and pierces the dragons forehead..
[01:13:52] <Giantree> And a shockwave emanated from the creature's body as the spear's blade struck its horn first, which slowly began to shatter. "Well… done…" The blade proceeded through the rest of its body as the area was completely enveloped in magican energy from the shockwave… and the others were far from it, still in the being's space.
[01:14:25] <Giantree> But after not long the nightmare dissipated and they found themselves landing in an empty subway track with rubble everywhere. And of course, an obligatory 'clink' sound.
[01:15:41] <Hailey_Markane> "hah…hah…hah…" Hailey lands gracefully on the rubble, her mind exhausted but her body tireless as ever.
[01:16:15] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl fell from the sky while still temporarily in the golden transformation state… Althaia's golden hair lost its color, returning to brown as her helmet followed suit.. pretty soon her body lost the glowing color and in a flash she reverted back to her Lv.2 Transformation state.
[01:17:14] * Adrianne_Lavender is sitting on her broom hovering way above the subwayy tracks
[01:17:26] <Adrianne_Lavender> "Well, that was amazing."
[01:19:03] <Althaia_Atrum> Mr.Scarf swirled forward, curling and protecting Althaia from the impact of the fall… or most of it… "Ughh…."
[01:19:37] <Hailey_Markane> "I…" she can't get anything out. Her mind is too caught up in the magic. She needed to discharge it soon…
[01:20:00] <Althaia_Atrum> Mr.Scarf unfurled and lunged forward, gripping the Oblivion Seed…
[01:20:10] <Skye_Lyon> Skye slowly dropped down into the wreckage, took a look around herself, then down at herself before crying
[01:20:46] <Hailey_Markane> "what's wrong Skye?"
[01:21:11] <Althaia_Atrum> "Guhhhh…. Guhhhh…", the girl struggled, pulling herself up, blinking her eyes…
[01:22:29] <Hailey_Markane> "come on…snap out of it!" Hailey will shake the caster's shoulder.
[01:22:34] <Skye_Lyon> "L-look at me. At you. At her. Everyone's changing."
[01:23:16] <Althaia_Atrum> "Hailey… Ah…", Althaia struggled forward, falling to a knee only to be stopped by her armored boots…
[01:23:30] <Hailey_Markane> Skye will get a shot to the solar plexus for that remark. Hailey doesn't have time for all the sympathy shit.
[01:23:31] <Adrianne_Lavender> "This wouldn't have happened if we hadn't overused our magic." She bites her lip
[01:24:18] <Hailey_Markane> "stop being an idiot. Yes we are changing. It's a sign that we are growing up. Fucking DEAL with it!"
[01:25:16] <Skye_Lyon> She sobbed again, further upset by her friend's jab, "Heartless. Our emotions are dying."
[01:25:18] <Althaia_Atrum> "Hailey… Are you alright?", the dragoon lost her footing again…
[01:26:13] <Hailey_Markane> "I'm fine. She's the basket case." Hailey will stoop down to Skye's level. "you realize how stupid you sound right now, yes?"
[01:26:50] <Adrianne_Lavender> "I've…got to think some things through…about all this." She says as she starts floating upwards, into a portal of her own creation and closing it after she goes through, leaving the group.
[01:26:54] <Althaia_Atrum> "… HAILEY!", the girl leaped forward, cupping her arms around Hailey…
[01:27:34] <Skye_Lyon> "They're DYING, like L-lita. Don't you care?"
[01:27:43] <Hailey_Markane> "bitching and crying about how emotions are dying, and you've got the whole waterworks going o-what the hell is your problem!?" Hailey will push the dragoon off of her.
[01:27:43] <Giantree> Suddenly, footsteps.
[01:28:10] <Althaia_Atrum> "Eh… Why'd you do that…?"
[01:28:32] <Hailey_Markane> "because I'm trying to get to her. You are not helping"
[01:28:33] <Giantree> Bizarre as it was to hear footsteps in an abandoned subway, especially in the Scape, they sounded calm. Walking toward them. But would it really come as a surprise whose they were? Probably not.
[01:29:08] <Althaia_Atrum> "Oh… Ok… … …", Althaia stood up, wobbling as she shook her head…
[01:29:32] <Skye_Lyon> Skye looked up at Hailey
[01:29:45] <Hailey_Markane> "Of course I care. I wouldn't ignore that. But you are stuck in one of the most primal, most powerful emotions there is, and your worry is becoming emotionless?"
[01:30:06] <Hailey_Markane> "it's fucking stupid once you figure that out."
[01:30:45] <Althaia_Atrum> The girl moved closer to Hailey until she was only a few feet away… Looking down at Skye then to Hailey, Althaia turned around to the source of the foot steps…
[01:31:09] <Skye_Lyon> "B-but, we'll lose it soon! No love, no emotions."
[01:31:24] <Giantree> "Oh, that's the problem, huh?" A giggle rang out from the distance. Hoo boy, they all know what that meant. "Ligh'en up a little. That emotion business? I made it all up." Sort of ruining the mood of the scene, the girl in her pink skimpy outfit was standing there, almost like she had been the whole time. With a shrug.
[01:32:29] <Hailey_Markane> "you…YOU!" Hailey is blinded by rage, going so far as to bull-rush Lita. She wants to kill her!
[01:32:40] <Giantree> "Did y'all REALLY think we all turned into some kinda heartless monsters?" Shake shake. "No way. If that was the case, people like Amby w- whoa!"
[01:33:16] <Althaia_Atrum> "Hailey! No…", at the mention of her mother's name… Althaia ran forward and performed a baseball slide to trip Hailey.
[01:33:34] <Skye_Lyon> The crying girl pointed a finger at Lita, screaming, "Liar! Stop it, stop messing with us."

[01:40:00] <Giantree> A solemn expression on her face, she knew that Hailey was right. As serious of a look as she could possibly muster showing, Lita walked up to Skye - in between the two of them - and looked the girl in the face, staring straight at her through her tears. Lifting her left arm a bit, she nearly opened her mouth to say something…
[01:40:39] <Giantree> … And then pushed the back of Hailey's head from behind, shoving her face - more specifically, her lips - into Skye's. What an EXCELLENT time for that kind of humor.
[01:41:16] <Giantree> Afterward she stood up. "See? Y'all're alive. That's all that matters!"
[01:41:42] <Hailey_Markane> "mmph~" Hailey's eyes went wide for a moment…then softened. For some reason she didn't want to let go…
[01:42:12] <Althaia_Atrum> "EHHHHHH!?", Althaia let out a yelp of discouragement…
[01:44:29] <Skye_Lyon> Skye fell backwards in surprise, moaning something about her second time, too
[01:45:43] <Giantree> Standing up and grinning, she'd hoped to have eased the mood with the cruel joke at them both. But even then, with a sigh, a hand was brought to her hip. "Lemme tell ya somethin'. No matter how much y'may learn about the world, how jaded ya become, those things— life, death, emotions, those're where our powers come from. We may not eat'r sleep here, but the rest's part of us."
[01:47:01] <Althaia_Atrum> "Lita… You were saying something about my mom earlier…", at this point, Althaia resembled Ambrosia even more… wearing dragoon armor slightly reminiscient of her mother's
[01:47:30] * Hailey_Markane slowly extracts herself from Skye, shooting daggers at the time weaver "i still dobt get what you gain from lying to us. We woulda goneafter it without you screwing with us."
[01:48:28] <Skye_Lyon> Emotionally overcharged, Skye couldn't seem to sort herself out, "S-still… lied to and u-used us."
[01:48:56] <Giantree> A shrug. "Amby was the peaka that stuff. No matter what happened… she was a friend, through an' through." Then to Hailey, "Yeah, but that's jus' the point— what'd you do if ya didn't even think about or consider it? What if it WAS true? N'order to be a user a' magic at all, that's something ya can't just NOT think about."
[01:50:28] <Hailey_Markane> "but it ISN'T true. Skye is right, you lied to us and used us. If we didn't know it wasn't true, that might be a different story…
[01:53:01] <Althaia_Atrum> "If Lita didn't tell us… We wouldn't have transformed."
[01:53:37] * Hailey_Markane will stoop down to Skye again. "I'm sorry for hitting you. If you need some time…I can respect that. Let me know if you need to chat or anything." with a gentle kiss on the girl's forehead, Hailey left.
[01:53:42] <Giantree> "Who knows? S'true that sustenance means nothin', and sleep's pointless too. Maybe those things really are down th' line after a few more decades? Th' thing is… y'don't belong here. There're things goin' on that y'don't even know 'bout yet— and from here on out, it's dangerous. If y'weren't scared away from the Scape already, then that's all I'cn do."
