WELCOME TO MASSIVELY MEGUCA ONLINE
SETTING:
YEAR IS 2166
PEOPLE STILL LIKE TO GRIND
SO EVEN THOUGH THEY LIVE IN SPACE NOW, THEY PLAY AN MMO
ALIGNMENTS:
White - Heart
Black - Fury
Gray - Magic
White>Gray>Black
Chargen is done as usual, afterward for experience purposes all attributes are multiplied by 100; ie. 9/5/4 would be referred to as 900/500/400 but in combat situations would be treated as 9/5/4. All stats are rounded down to the nearest hundred for such purposes, meaning 100 experience is required to increase in a stat.
OVERCHARGE:
OC are treated as 'glitches' of some sort, or otherwise unexplained phenomena. Plenty of them are houseruled out, replaced, etc.
2-7 OC cannot be discharged in combat, only 8+ can. Upon discharging an 8+, that Attribute cannot be used at all for the rest of the battle.
'Discharger' item exists for removing OC mid-combat, mobs can force OC, etc.
WEAPONS:

Everything a weapon will have: Rarity, Affinity, Alignment, Special Effects, and Requirements
Rarity: d100 roll. Higher rolls have more Special Effects, and "certain special rolls" can produce a Unique, which grant legendary abilities to the wielder.
Affinity: Style, Type, and Element, attached to every weapon and each affinity can be raised by players by using weapons possessing such affinities. Affinity is used to determine drop rate for specific players.
-Style: The manner of attacking which is used. Melee, Range, Magic, etc.
-Element: Any sort of element used by the weapon, fluffed the same way as 'magical element' in the official PDF. 'None' exists but is only seen on Uniques.
-Type: Miscellaneous descriptors of the weapon, such as Bladed, Blunt, etc.
Alignment: Association with one of the three Attribute types, following traditional rules. Alignment only affects Affinities, bonuses to opposing Attributes are done as normal.
Special Effects: Magical Effects from the pdf simplified to have only one bonus, ie. a static +1 to rolls in a specific stat, a +1 to static defense, etc. Poorly-generated weapons can have negatives with no benefits.
Requirements: A weapon generated will only be able to be equipped by somebody whose Attribute of whatever the weapon's Alignment is is the same level as or higher than whoever it was initiially generated for.

AFFINITIES:
Depending on the weapon equipped, up to three 'Affinities' at a time can be leveled. Affinities can be used to 'purchase' skills and (possibly) miscellaneous things, such as damage bonuses against opposing elements, etc etc. Affinity is raised by the number of damage dealt on an attack.
For weapons, the Affinity raised depends on the Attribute used to attack; each Attribute is attuned to one of the three Affinities it has and that particular Affinity can only be raised while attacking with that particular Attribute. Which is related to which depends on the Alignment of the weapon.
Alignment/Affinity relations are as follows:
Black Alignment - Element: Black, Style: White, Type: Gray
White Alignment - Element: White, Style: Gray, Type: Black
Gray Alignment - Element: Gray, Style: Black, Type: White
EXPERIENCE:
There are two types of experience:
-Affinity xp: See above.
-Attribute xp: Upon the player/party defeating an opponent, they earn a set amount of experience. That experience is given to each character as part of a 'pool' which, once outside of combat, can be distributed in any way amongst the three Attributes, RP, or Abilities. Experience is divided when multiple party members are present. Uses are as follows:
—Any of the 3 attributes. 100 to level from 1-9, 300 to level from 10-18.
—Resolve Points (RP). 100 to level up to 20, 300 to level above 20.
—'Ability Box.' See below.
ABILITIES:
Abilities are the renaming and refluffing of the pdf's 'Magical Effects,' meaning two can be taken at creation as usual in relation to starting element/power. Power is something unique per character and cannot be changed, though Element may change through affinities.
To an acquire a new Ability, 100 experience must be placed in the 'Ability Box' and 50 affinity points spent as well. This Affinity defines the 'type' of Ability, and (hurr discussed with the GM) is therefore used to define the Ability acquired. For example, a Fire Affinity could create the Ability to summon an exploding fireball that does an extra 1 damage to adjacent targets per 3 damage dealt.
An Ability can be 'leveled' by spending 100 Affinity points and 200 xp in the Ability Box, which will increase its effects— for example, the "Healing" Magical Effect in the pdf would be a regular ability, and increasing its level would provide a choice to either allow the 1d6 heal roll to be applied to multiple targets (without the +2 bonus) or increase the amount healed to one target to 1d8+4.
RACES:
There are three playable 'races' that can be chosen at creation, each one is considerably different. Each race can be modified slightly during creation and after playing for cosmetics but no cosmetic effects; ie. origins are able to appear as elves, dwarves, etc depending on the player's preference.
-Origins: The traditional 'human' race, is the default and most common. No bonuses or penalties to any stat or mechanic whatsoever.
-Diminutives: A 'Sprite' race, much smaller than Origins meaning equipment must specifically be 'converted' to their size. Their static defense bonus is 6+defense as opposed to 3+defense and they gain a +1 on all active defense rolls, at the cost of having all damage rolls be 1d4 as opposed to 1d6.
-Resonants: The 'Elemental' race, are mostly human with the exception that the 'element' they choose at creation has a permanent effect on their bodies, such as a limb being made of a particular material related to that element or their skin color changing, etc etc. Because of this, the Resonant acquires Style/Type affinities at half the regular rate, but gains Elemental affinities at double the speed. At high levels of affinity, Resonants become hardly recognizable as human anymore.
-Sentients: A mechanical, 'Android'-esque race. They cannot learn any Affinities, and as such are unable to learn Abilities and Arts beyond what they start out with at creation. This is offset by their ability to use 'Installation': By breaking a weapon, they may permanently acquire its effect as an Ability at will, at any time that isn't during combat. However, a weapon with a rarity of above 70 requires one Core to do so with. Arts can be learned by sacrificing two Abilities, again, at-will, to make an Art with a combined version of their effects.
-Ferals: A race with animal-like features, the physical appearances of which are (perhaps fortunately) heavily restricted. Essentially 'Catgirls' if anything, but their appearance can have similarities with other animals or similar creatures. Essentially the 'monster' race or 'Blue Mages,' their ability is to mimic any monster's attack - including the Attribute with their particular bonus, as well as gaining their Affinity - as a racial Ability and, upon dealing the finishing blow to one, 'Absorb' an Ability or Art from them with a fairly low percentage change of success. As these are both Abilities, they are unable to choose any Abilities or Arts of their own at creation, but in addition to Absorption they are able to still learn them from Experience and Affinities. (Yes, they CAN be Mermaids.)
ARTS:
Refluffed Finishers.
Finishers are now Arts, whether they still exist in chargen anymore is debatable, thinking no— to create-an-art you need 100 points of xp each in at least two different types of affinities. Type can only give it effects involving damage, style can only give it affects that apply to hitting or anything affecting the hitroll, and element can only do things involving OC, status effects, etc.
Default HP cost of every art is 3. Build-an-art lets you spend 100 points from any affinity to add certain things to arts or 200 points to create a new one, and adding an aspect adds 1 to the cost of using it. However, you may also spend 100 points as usual in any affinity to instead reduce the HP cost of the skill by 1, without adding any effects.
ITEMS:
Generated for players depending on affinity. Have certain effects.
SPECIFIC VALUES WERE USED FOR TEST, WILL CHANGE EVENTUALLY.
ROLLS:
1d100 every kill
1-30 nothing
31-70 item
71-100 weapon
Analyzer: Can identify 1 item. Single-use.
Vitalizer: Restores 1d6 resolve. Single-use.
Discharger: Removes 1d6 Overcharge from any attribute. Single-use.
Core: The renaming/refluffing of the PDF's Oblivion Seeds, Cores are traditionally found once per dungeon and are therefore extremely rare, mostly used as a bartering tool. Sentients have a use for them individually, but everybody else has only the knowledge that "collecting a certain amount brings something good."
[17:05:50] <@Giantree> Bzzt. A typical trek through the fields as usual, revealing not much besides the traditional landscape with its… well, for the most part its flatness, though there was a landscape here and there. And currently, approached from four different directions from four different people, was the mother of all landscapes— or more accurately, it was just a big stone slab with magic symbols carved.
[17:06:37] <@Giantree> The thing that made it important was the rumors abound that this particular "slab" was the entry point to one of the as-of-yet unexplored dungeons in this new world.. and as to how the four ended up there, that was up to them. At least it wasn't in a tavern.
[17:10:12] <Angel_Mage321> The angelic magical girl touches down on to the flat plains. It was a bit instinctual…but she still knew what was here. And surprised so few others were here.
[17:13:22] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX marched up to the slab, her moist nugget gun in hand. Curious as to what their builds and even names were, she brought up her console. She probably had the best name.
[17:13:28] <Angel_Mage321> "you'd think that I wouldn't hafta solo this…" the girl says to nothing at all. She probably could clear this place out…but what fun would that be? Gramma always had a crew with her, so the girl will wait.
[17:13:49] * Inu888 continues walking towards the monument. Open in front of his face is a console and over his shoulder the Plasma Shwurper's yellow blade jiggles. In his hand is a banana, which he peels and takes a bite of without looking away from the console.
[17:14:54] <Azure-> Unexplored? Perfect, just perfect. Being the first ever would be a great treat. Azure kept a steady pace onwards, ready to explore.
[17:15:40] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Azure dash? Want to party up?"
[17:16:24] * Inu888 finishes with the banana and tosses the over the shoulder and reaches down into his boxorz to get another.
[17:16:26] <Angel_Mage321> "holy crap, you figured out the speak command! Im surprised…"
[17:18:08] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Let's party up and get the loot. Will make things easier."
[17:19:16] <@Giantree> The big magic circle in the middle of the slab nearby pulsated, continuing to glow. Obviously that meant the only way to activate it was to step inside, but that was knowledge that could be reserved for later. At least for now, the coast was clear except for the group of… whoever.
[17:19:20] <Angel_Mage321> "I…the fuck is your name supposed to be?" the girl raises an eyebrow. Probably did IRL as well
[17:19:22] <Azure-> The resonant with eyeballs of pure blue looked over the one offering the invitation. Weird name. As for Azure, she had a black skirt with twinkling white "stars" spread throughout, as well as some large, metallic looking backpack.
[17:20:44] <Azure-> "I don't mind forming a party; it'd be useful to have some backup, considering NOBODY knows what's in there. Ha, I can't wait to go around sharing the story 'bout what's really inside."
[17:21:06] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Ecks ecks Ecks underscore Spuh four arr tuh four en Tok three arr six nine underscore Ecks ecks Ecks"
[17:21:27] <Angel_Mage321> "…I shouldn't have asked. Azure, you need a healbot?"
[17:22:08] <@Giantree> Three of them were getting along fine. A certain 'bananamancer' was… actually, how did that even happen, anyway?
[17:22:27] <Azure-> "I can't speak for my fellow explorer here, but I sure could use a healer."
[17:22:37] * Inu888 tabs through his friendlist, his stats, his skills… Inventory… Not much there. All he had was this starter weapon, boxorz, a pair of sox and some useless consumable item. He continues walking forward, bumping into XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX.
[17:24:40] <Angel_Mage321> "alright…you know…you seem a bit familiar…were you in that Cavern dungeon they intro'd last month? The Jenkins Memorial?"
[17:25:04] <Inu888> "Oi. Watch where you're going you noob" he mumbles, munching on the banana he had pulled from his boxorz only moments ago.
[17:25:41] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I'm not a noob. I have the…"
[17:25:45] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX freezes still
[17:26:20] <Azure-> "I try to hit up just about every new dungeon I can, but I don't recognize you."
[17:26:24] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Sorry. Had to grab some chocolate milk. ANYWAY, I have the most balanced build."
[17:26:51] <Angel_Mage321> "okay…loot distrib?"
[17:27:53] <Azure-> "Even for everyone in the party."
[17:28:13] <Inu888> "Ay, let me in on the party as well" the last few words came out clearly, even though he was finishing up whatever was left in his mouth.
[17:28:14] <@Giantree> At least, there was no way to set it up, considering the interface was much like real life. That's kinda how VR works. Though, deciding who picks up what is usually the best of ideas, especially considering how they had all brought one item with them that's able to scan a single piece of equipment. And it MIGHT not hurt to save those for something they think they'd like. The rest? Fodder.
[17:28:22] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Prioritize by affinity, maybe."
[17:29:32] <@Giantree> Most players would've snorted there. Even in 2166, shortening terms was a common thing, so that may have sounded strange and hinted some things about the player… but at least, it wasn't "pally" or "addy" anymore. Holy crap, internet.
[17:29:40] <Angel_Mage321> "works for me. I'm a white/gray, so any black materials are up for the three of you"
[17:31:40] <Azure-> "That's kind of unfortunate, I'm gray/white. Black's no good for me."
[17:33:16] <Angel_Mage321> "what about you two, either of you black spec?"
[17:33:17] <@Giantree> This far in the future, nobody typed at a keyboard anymore— they had to physically lift and use every weapon they attacked with, so it was at least comforting to some to know that most people had a few they were comfortable with and some they weren't. That made dividing in ways that weren't solely by attribute much easier. At least… sometimes, when there were no ninja-looters around.
[17:33:24] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I'm black."
[17:33:26] <Inu888> "Alright then, I'll take any black/grey" and he drops the peel in his hand. He then reaches down for another from his boxorz, but doesn't bother eating it.
[17:35:18] <Angel_Mage321> "alright then…we ready?" readying her staff, the so far nameless girl prepares to enter the dungeon…behind the others, of course
[17:35:49] <@Giantree> Nameless unless the others checked. But, nobody likes reading numbers out loud… er, most don't anyway. There are definitely some weirdos out there.
[17:36:27] * Inu888 tosses the banana in his hand at the monument, then slashing the air with his Plasma Shwurfer and dramatically pointing it where the banana hit. "To the hunt!"
[17:36:35] <Azure-> Ready? Would Azure have been there if she wasn't ready for some serious adventuring action. Of course not. "If you gotta ask, you know the answer."
[17:36:40] <@Giantree> The magic circles pulsated— the entryway would PROBABLY be activated by stepping on it. At least, that's what seemed like the logical thing to do.
[17:37:50] <@Giantree> … And it was right. But instead of vanishing, the banana that landed was flipped up into the air and out of sight. It didn't stop shining, though— the circle, that is.
[17:37:50] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX charges into the monument, screaming to pump up some adrenaline
[17:37:50] * Angel_Mage321 does exactly that.
[17:40:05] * Inu888 advances towards to the gateway, but before stepping into the circle pulls out another 3 bananas from his boxorz and tosses them to Angel Mage, Azure and… Something. He couldn't read that… "Just in case something goes wrong, you can use these."
[17:40:08] <@Giantree> And two of them, not to say much of the others, found themselves lifting at a much slower rate— the magical circle on the monument began raising into the air, like an elevator.
[17:41:42] * Inu888 steps into the gateway to the next map, Plasma Shwurfer ready and wobbling
[17:41:50] <Azure-> Azure followed the other's lead, hopping aboard to the dungeon's entrance
[17:42:37] <@Giantree> And once they were all on with nobody nearby, the circle shot off into the sky, reaching unimaginable speeds.
[17:43:06] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX rotates the bolt open and puts in a round before locking it back
[17:44:25] <@Giantree> … And despite the rush, the circle suddenly landed on a similar-looking stone slab, only this time they were very clearly standing on a walkway suspended above a sea of clouds, with the ground they were just on being hardly visible below whatsoever. There was a large room and some broken-down walls around the platform they now stood on, with a walkway going only in one direction.
[17:44:25] <Azure-> Unimaginable? Never, for Azure's imagination was as deep as the ocean, if currently directed more towards the dungeon they were ready to explore rather than the limits of speed.
[17:46:52] <Angel_Mage321> "this is new…take the lead. I'll stay out of agro range" Angel will wait for everyone to get in front of her.
[17:47:03] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Where's the chests? Does this game even HAVE chests?"
[17:47:11] <Inu888> "This is fairly straightforward" he comments and then charges down the walkway, Plasma Shwurfer jiggling. "CHAAAAAAARGE!"
[17:47:15] <@Giantree> Boxes! And by the way, it's "aggro."
[17:48:00] <@Giantree> COUGH COUGH. Anyway, past the walkway is another room much like the first one… with a few larger-than-usual gemstones scattered about the floor. Three, in fact.
[17:48:44] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX runs down the walkway
[17:49:16] * Inu888 stops at the gemstones… Interesting loot? Inu888 picks one up to look at it closer and find out
[17:49:19] * Angel_Mage321 will walk down, curious at the gemstones.
[17:49:37] <Azure-> The starry dressed girl stepped into the lead and got moving down the walkway towards the gemstones? Traps? Probably, considering how early in they were. "Hey, don't touch 'em just yet, might be dangerous."
[17:50:20] <@Giantree> Or, more accurately, reaches for and is INSTEAD jumped out at… by a humanoid figure that shoots out from the gemstone - an opal in fact - in some sort of bizarre transformers-y fashion. The others follow suit.
[17:50:54] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "So what if it's dangerous? I want my EXP"
[17:50:59] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "It's a game"
[17:51:06] <@Giantree> Needless to say, Azure was just a LITTLE too late— the three creatures raised their now-present arms intimidatingly and turned to face the group.
[17:51:52] <Azure-> "Haha, saw that coming from a galaxy away. C'mon, pay a little bitattention next time, but it's alright, we'll smash 'em."
[17:51:53] <Inu888> "Holy !" surprised as the gemstone turns into a mob… "Wait, what the ? This game has filters?"
[17:52:04] <Angel_Mage321> "oh boy…let me set up some macros, then I need to make a head call."
[17:52:41] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Someone didn't turn off her filters in the options menu."
[17:54:11] * Inu888 quickly opens up the console and tabs through to the options to turn off language filters
[17:57:04] * Angel_Mage321 's macro will have her not doing anything until someone gets hit.
[17:58:29] * Inu888 swings Plasma Shwurfer at the nearest Gemanoid, the blade bending at the swing to look alot like a banana
[17:58:51] <Azure-> Macro? Where's the fun in that? Azure waited for some chance, an opening. When the time came, she'd attack on her own skill. Otherwise, why even play if it's automated to do it itself?
[17:59:59] <Inu888> 2d6+7 PLASMA SHWURFER GO!
[18:00:00] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, PLASMA SHWURFER GO!: 12 [2d6=1,4]
[18:00:09] <@Giantree> WELL
[18:00:27] <@Giantree> 2d6 +? you're probably fine, terrifyingly enough
[18:00:28] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +? you're probably fine, terrifyingly enough: 8 [2d6=4,4]
[18:00:43] <@Giantree> .. Wow. Yeah, poor thing, that beats it.
[18:02:00] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, 1d6: 4 [1d6=4]
[18:03:25] <@Giantree> And turn gone to Azure.
[18:03:06] <@Giantree> The creature - 'Gemanoid' apparently, considering everybody wanted to just check them normally - didn't make much of a movement to evade the attack, but was damaged fairly notably. At least, it didn't stop standing in one position doing nothing.
[18:07:12] <@Giantree> The solid black humanoids all turned to stare at… whatever was about to happen.
[18:09:00] <Azure-> "Okay, strength in numbers, right? Let's subtract some strength." With a quick grab, Azure equips a big black gauntlet. Hand to the sky, three balls of light formed between the fingers; a flick sent them careening towards the creatures while growing in size.
[18:09:54] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure-, magic boost for a free OC: 10 [3d6=6,2,2]
[18:09:59] <Azure-> 1d6
[18:09:59] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure-, 1d6: 4 [1d6=4]
[18:10:06] <Azure-> 20/19/18?
[18:10:10] <@Giantree> phew, I was almost scared you wouldn't do that
[18:10:23] <@Giantree> 3#2d6 +?
[18:10:24] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +?: 6 [2d6=4,2], 12 [2d6=6,6], 9 [2d6=3,6]
[18:10:33] <@Giantree> … That isn't good.
[18:10:33] <Charm> Oh dear
[18:10:36] <Azure-> >6,6
[18:10:40] <@Giantree> ^
[18:10:45] <@Giantree> and that's not even the worst part of it
[18:10:53] <Azure-> clashan?
[18:10:56] <Charm> They weren't…
[18:10:59] <Charm> Were they?
[18:11:03] <@Giantree> I wish you could see me nodding while gulping right now
[18:11:10] <@Giantree> and THAT'S not even the worst part
[18:11:15] <@Giantree> okay, let's see this
[18:11:17] <@Giantree> 2d6
[18:11:18] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 2d6: 5 [2d6=4,1]
[18:11:32] <@Giantree> ONE gets through, at least
[18:11:39] <@Giantree> 1d6
[18:11:41] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 1d6: 5 [1d6=5]
[18:11:48] <@Giantree> .. Two get through.
[18:11:53] <@Giantree> healbot at the ready, please
[18:11:55] <Azure-> 14+?
[18:12:11] <Azure-> what douchebags
[18:12:12] <Charm> Well it will trip the macro
[18:12:15] <@Giantree> Well, I sure as hell can't tell you IC that you have a scanner on your team
[18:12:28] <@Giantree> but yeah, fortunately I WILL spoil that fodder doesn't get to take OC, 2.1 or not
[18:12:35] <@Giantree> just explodes for hitrolls
[18:12:37] <@Giantree> 2d4
[18:12:38] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 2d4: 4 [2d4=2,2]
[18:12:50] <@Giantree> haha
[18:12:56] <@Giantree> anyway, roll damage for one of them
[18:13:05] <Azure-> 1d6+4
[18:13:06] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure-, 1d6+4: 5 [1d6=1]
[18:13:10] <Azure-> fuck you
[18:14:09] <@Giantree> Two of the creatures stood still, their bodies spreading apart— black balls of the exact same size shot through the balls of light, straight at their attacker. The one that had just been banana'd, however, wasn't so quick to react and instead was toppled, leaving a hunk of opaline mass on the ground. It didn't revert or do much, however.
[18:15:28] <Charm> The angel's avatar sprung into action, her winged staff pointed at the virtual wounds, attempting to mend them.
[18:15:50] <Charm> 1d6+2+2 lol healing bonus weapon
[18:15:51] <+DiceMaid-9001> Charm, lol healing bonus weapon: 6 [1d6=2]
[18:17:26] <@Giantree> They definitely did a decent job of that, removing the wounds from both darkballs… however, that didn't say much for the sources of them, who were still standing and threatening. Sort of threatening, anyway, considering how the first one went down.
[18:18:39] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX doesn't even bother saying anything. She just aims down her sights (even though the gems aren't too far away) and opens fire at the closest one.
[18:18:41] <Azure-> That riposte had hurt, physically in the obvious sense as well as emotionally, considering Azure'd been playing it cool. Regardless, the angel saw to one of the issues quite adeptly. With a sigh of relief, Azure gratefully called over, "That's a lot better, thanks!"
[18:19:30] <Charm> "…" no reply. The controller was afk, remember?
[18:21:19] <@Giantree> AFV, more like. Keyboards had been obsolete since the 2040s…. well, traditional ones anyway.
[18:22:33] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Fuck. I forgot I could've used one of my powers on these mobs."
[18:24:46] <Charm> "okay, I'm back…let's see what we can do here…"
[18:19:11] <+DiceMaid-9001> XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX, 2d6+6: 14 [2d6=5,3]
[18:25:16] <@Giantree> There would be plenty of opportunity to do so, as well, considering the bullet grazed the creature instead of hitting it very hard. How exciting.
[18:27:22] <@Giantree> GO FOR BROKE
[18:27:24] <@Giantree> GET ANGRY
[18:27:28] <@Giantree> LEMME FEEL YER RAGE
[18:27:31] <Azure> HELL YEAH MAGIC
[18:27:57] <@Giantree> CRUSH THEM LIKE TINY PUPPIES
[18:28:12] <Azure> 3d6 +9/8
[18:28:13] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, +9/8: 13 [3d6=6,2,5]
[18:28:17] <Azure> 1d6
[18:28:18] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 1d6: 3 [1d6=3]
[18:28:31] <@Giantree> 4d6 +NOT VERY MUCH
[18:28:32] <Charm> 25/24
[18:28:33] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +NOT VERY MUCH: 13 [4d6=3,1,3,6]
[18:28:34] <Azure> 25/24, excellent
[18:28:35] <@Giantree> 1d6
[18:28:36] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 1d6: 2 [1d6=2]
[18:28:42] <@Giantree> I don't even have to count
[18:28:43] <@Giantree> roll damage
[18:28:49] <Azure> 1d6+4
[18:28:50] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 1d6+4: 8 [1d6=4]
[18:28:57] <@Giantree> u mad
[18:29:03] <@Giantree> because they downed
[18:30:45] <Azure> The blue spheres Azure affectionately calls her eyes were glowing intensely. This encounter had gone on long enough for an early trap, geez. This time, it was no little snowball star, Azure threw a ball of energy twice the size of a beachball straight at the nearest one, ricocheting into the second, where it finally detonated. Boom.
[18:31:25] <Charm> "Good shot! ^_^"
[18:31:42] <Azure> "Like I was saying, it's all about subtraction."
[18:32:43] <@Giantree> THIS time, left in the piles were some fairly useful-looking objects… just kidding! One of them - the one on the left if you must know - left the scouter-esque object they had known as an 'Analyzer,' while the other one left a blue syringe-esque object. THAT was something they would only know of if they'd read the manual.
[18:33:15] <Inu888> "Good job everyone… Except you, all-rounder."
[18:33:29] <Charm> "your kills, your pick Azure."
[18:34:21] <Inu888> "Frickin' KSer."
[18:34:34] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Hey. I wasn't doing my best today."
[18:35:00] <Charm> "deal with it." Angel takes the blue syringe unless Azure lays claim to it first.
[18:35:57] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX grabs the analyzer
[18:36:44] <Azure> Bluuuuue syringe? Obviously Azure's favorite color! That said, they were pretty much always blue, nothing special. Azure laid a hand on the analyzer at the same time as the freakyname, "Would you mind if I took this one?"
[18:43:00] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "….fine fine. Go take it"
[18:43:13] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX gets back up and eyes the environment
[18:43:32] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Has anyone been keeping track of this? I don't even think this game has a mini-map"
[18:44:25] <@Giantree> It does. Though, not a very fancy one.
[18:45:13] <Azure> Azure happily packed away her second analyzer in her backpack. Now she'd be able to identify TWO treasures. Hopefully it'd pay off.
[18:45:19] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX brings up the help console
[18:45:45] <Charm> "it's default minimized. If you read the manual you'd learn that." Angel will start herding everyone forward. She can heal fine, but she's no tank.
[18:45:58] <@Giantree> What they had to worry about NOW was where to go next— a path lie in front of them, as did another one to their left. Both were suspended over the sky and the only walls were run-down and broken, so of course the room had no ceiling.
[18:46:40] * Inu888 runs into the next room… forward again (east)… yelling "LOOOOOOOOOT!"
[18:47:59] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX looks at the path forward and almost takes a step forward before deciding to follow Inu888
[18:49:03] <Charm> "we should probably follow the newbies…" Angel sighs as she let's Azure go ahead.
[18:49:05] <@Giantree> Mentioning it had no ceiling was a good idea— if any of them were to look up to notice, they would've seen that the sky above them was suddenly darkening, not to say much of what was below it. There was a twinkle.. and another.. and another. The stars in the sky formed a pattern moving to the north - their left - and then stopped with a much brighter one. More of them kept moving.
[18:50:37] <Azure> Azure stops and stares upwards, "Which way're we supposed to head?"
[18:51:40] <Charm> "…that's a good question. But if you wanna leave them behind, we could try to duo our way through."
[18:51:58] <Charm> "pretty sure one of them hasn't even logged 20 minutes of game time"
[18:52:29] <@Giantree> The two who rushed ahead found themselves in a nondescript room… with more passageways. Another one forward, and one to the right from there. As for the OTHER two, that was up to them to figure out~
[18:53:14] <Charm> "they went east…and will probably whine if they get left behind…"
[18:53:26] * Inu888 just continues running forward
[18:53:37] <Azure> "We can't leave 'em, can we? Let's search for 'em, but don't separate, alright?"
[18:54:05] <Charm> "they went that way…" Angel points as she walks into the next room
[18:54:39] <Azure> Azure walked along with the Angel, staying alert for further traps.
[18:54:48] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX keeps following Inu888, putting him on auto-follow
[18:55:00] <@Giantree> The two of them found themselves in the same blank room with nothing in it— the 'Bananamancer,' however, discovered yet another room with no hostiles… but at least, it DID have a big green box inside of it. And that never means bad things, right?
[18:55:19] <Inu888> "Alright!"
[18:55:49] * Inu888 walks to the box and hammers it with another banana produced from his boxorz
[18:55:56] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Probably another trap. Game is made by dicks. Lets get this over with."
[18:56:13] <Azure> "Which way did they go? See any bananas?"
[18:56:59] <Azure> Azure looked and listened for a trail of their lost companions
[18:57:31] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX re-opens the help console to see how to whisper
[18:57:32] <Charm> "i said they went that way…come on!" The angel starts heading east.
[18:58:01] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "…actually. Do you want to split the loot between ourselves, assuming it isn't a trap? Let the others fin us later?"
[18:58:03] <@Giantree> Not quite— what lie there was a curved object of pure blue, with an appearance that almost made it seem like rippling waves were moving through it. Whether boomerangs even existed this far in the future, nobody could really be so certain, but for the hell of making things easier the narration suggests to assume they still did. Upon further identification… well, question marks everywhere.
[18:58:23] <Azure> Azure hustled on behind Angel, gauntlet still equipped.
[18:58:44] * Inu888 lays clame the curved blue object, "Aha!"
[18:59:13] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "What stat is it?"
[18:59:22] * Inu888 reaches down into his boxorz and pulls out the Analyzer to use on the thing
[19:02:13] <@Giantree> The analyzer, on the bananamancer's eye, shows a bunch of letters and numbers… somebody who actually KNEW the game would likely know what they meant. "058-B {Splash Spread}(S: Ranged T: Thrown (Boomerang) E: Water)[Barrage 18] @ ???." Bunch of numbers, in fact.
[19:02:15] <Charm> "good to see the two of you haven't killed yourselves yet…"
[19:02:55] <@Giantree> At least, it made so much more sense now why there was blatantly water on the surface of the object. And its name was a pretty silly one. Well, at least Blizzard didn't get their hands on it.
[19:03:34] <Inu888> "Why die when there's loot?" as he waggles the now-identified boomerang Splash Spread in his hand.
[19:04:10] <Charm> "did you KNOW it was loot beforehand?"
[19:04:27] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Inu you sound so forced when you speak."
[19:04:41] <Charm> "Rule #1: always check for traps on chests. gramma taught me that one."
[19:05:28] <@Giantree> Nobody else knew what it did, considering how secretive these analyzers could be… and speaking of which, text stopped scrolling on it and its screen darkened a bit, making it clear that it was deactivated. Everybody else could only see that it was definitely a weapon and definitely very blue.
[19:05:43] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Good to know."
[19:06:15] * Inu888 takes the boomerang and pushes it into his boxorz, "You're just jelly that I got a new toy, SpORtORnTokREEr."
[19:06:31] <Azure> Despite the possibly biting words, Azure's tone was cheery, "Hey, everyone's alright, that's better than expected! Whoa, that thing's awesome! I love its design, 'specia-oh, nevermind."
[19:06:41] <Azure> Into the boxorz, unfortunate.
[19:07:02] <Charm> "so what is it?" That was something the girl learned on her own. No need to burn through analyzers if you can get people to flat out tell you everything about it.
[19:07:23] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Some boomerang."
[19:07:35] <Inu888> "Feels wet."
[19:08:00] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Inu, do you specialize in throwing shit? Does anybody else do that?
[19:08:01] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "
[19:08:05] <Charm> "…tmi." Now…anything else in here?
[19:08:43] <Azure> "I… I throw stuff, but I guess I don't need it."
[19:09:10] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "We agreed on prioritizing by need."
[19:09:15] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Let Azure have it."
[19:09:23] <Charm> "next time, check with us *before* you shove shit down your pants."
[19:09:42] <Inu888> "But I told you guys that I got black/grey weapons. This is a black."
[19:10:02] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Azure, are you black?"
[19:10:08] <Inu888> "Therefore mine."
[19:10:10] <@Giantree> WHAT A QUESTION
[19:10:36] <Charm> "you know what? Fuck it. Let's go…" Angel looks…disgusted at the turn of events. Or maybe it's the giant boomerang in that one's underpants.
[19:10:40] <Charm> Maybe both.
[19:11:01] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Azure, is your main stat black? Helloooo?"
[19:11:08] <Azure> "B…black? Man, I suck with black."
[19:11:29] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Forget it then. I guess Inu keeps it."
[19:12:11] <Azure> "Ah well, maybe next blue time."
[19:12:20] * Charm looks to see if there are any other doors in this room. If not, turn back, peer in the room to the south.
[19:12:28] * Inu888 charges back into the previous
[19:12:42] <@Giantree> Bad group synergy was bad group synergy. It also may have been bad considering they were in a room with only one exit, which was the way they- whoop, there they go, while the narration was typing. WELL THEN.
[19:12:56] * Inu888 pulls up the console to look at the minimap
[19:14:12] * Charm floats through, staff at the ready as she throws open the door to the room south of the main hallway.
[19:15:09] * Charm is now known as Angel_Mage
[19:15:22] * Inu888 stomps through in his sox (STUPSTUPSTUPSTUP) into the 2nd room, turning a right into the northern hallway
[19:15:34] * Angel_Mage is now known as Angel_Mage321
[19:18:24] <Azure> Azure followed Angel's lead; she appeared to be the most intelligent of the other three, even if her style didn't fit Azure's. In the dungeon, you take what you can get, so be it.
[19:19:01] <@Giantree> So, the group split up. As for crazyname, who knows?
[19:19:24] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX follows Inu888 half heartedly
[19:19:26] * Inu888 enters the northern room and stops to take a look
[19:19:59] <Angel_Mage321> "where'd the other…ah, screw it. At least you know what you're doing."
[19:21:10] <@Giantree> The two more competent members found themselves in yet another empty room… though, the broken wall effect was pretty cool-looking. The sky below them kept moving— though that didn't mean much, the narration just wanted to describe it. That said, they saw passages to both east and west.
[19:21:29] <Inu888> Hrm…
[19:22:30] <@Giantree> The other group, however, found themselves faced with another square room and a passage north… but, that probably didn't matter to them, considering the green box in the middle of the room.
[19:23:38] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "You open it. It's probably a trap this time. Catch us off guard."
[19:23:50] <Inu888> "Alright then."
[19:24:31] * Inu888 runs over to the green box, doing the same thing… but different… He kicks the box open
[19:25:07] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX prepares to use his scanning power on whatever horrible thing pops out
[19:25:59] <@Giantree> BOOM— no just kidding, it actually just opens normally. There was a small explosion that always happens when boxes open, sure, but nothing ridiculous. And all that lie in the rubble was another of those blue syringe-esque objects. Sure shows them for being paranoid about everything.
[19:26:33] <Inu888> "Eh… You can have it."
[19:26:53] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Don't mind if I do."
[19:27:07] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX walks up and grabs the syringe, putting it in his backpack
[19:28:35] * Inu888 continues plodding north (STUPSTUPSTUPSTUP)
[19:29:05] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX follows Inu888
[19:29:43] <@Giantree> And the path up north led to… well uh, at least instead of being a small gem in hiding, this half-room-filling golem-esque creature gave a warm enough welcome by standing there making noises. Its body was an extreme light blue, crystalline texture— almost white.
[19:30:44] <@Giantree> To group B, there was a passage to the east and another to the west. Of course, they COULD go back the way they came, but the SUPER REALISM that the devs put into this game made PMs or whispers a less viable option than usual. And who would want to whisper jerks like them, anyway?
[19:31:28] <Angel_Mage321> "your call…seems like there's got to be more this way. Even if it's just some loot."
[19:31:50] <Angel_Mage321> "I promise I won't shove it down my pants without asking you first |:"
[19:32:43] <Azure> "Wanna try heading west? …That particular incident was kind of a shame, but it's not like I use black anyway, y'know?"
[19:33:02] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX tries using the whisper command on Azure "Hey, we found a BIG mob"
[19:33:39] <Angel_Mage321> "still was an ass move. Let's go." Angel puts her hand on a door knob or equivalent, ready to open the door.
[19:34:23] <@Giantree> She would put her hand on air. There were no doors, only doorways— there was, however, definitely a passageway to the west, leading to another room.
[19:34:42] <Azure> "Do you think those guys'll be alright? I almost wanna bet on when we find their bodies."
[19:34:51] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I think Azure is ignoring me."
[19:35:15] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX opens the help command
[19:35:18] <@Giantree> Crazyname's time would be wasted— and all of theirs might've been, in fact, considering the two to the south found themselves face-to-face with another room… and another of the exact same creatures. Both golems seemed to roar angrily, however.
[19:35:19] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "How do I whisper?"
[19:35:35] <Angel_Mage321> "serves em right. The bulletin warned that it wasn't your average dungeon crawl…they should have known. If not, tough shit."
[19:35:37] <@Giantree> "You're an idiot," a voice shot out from the help-files. And then the file closed.
[19:36:37] <Azure> "Painfully true. It's exciting though, wouldn't you say? Nobody's visited, let alone cleared this dungeon before. First ones to see it."
[19:36:50] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX re-opens it "What kind of game doesn't let me use a WHISPER command? This is an MMORPG!"
[19:37:19] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I mean, that TOTALLY MAKES IT MORE ACCESSIBLE TO CASUAL GAMERS"
[19:37:27] <Angel_Mage321> "yeah…so let's not give someone a chance to clear it because we let them hold us down!" Angel keeps walking down the passage, staff at the ready.
[19:38:22] <Inu888> "Oi, Xxsp45q452T459Xx, what you talkin' about?"
[19:38:46] <Azure> The blue eyed, sunny haired girl followed, gauntlet ever ready"Oh… It never occurred to me like that, but I suppose you have got a point. Let's move."
[19:39:13] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I'm trying to get help so we can whisper to the rest of the party."
[19:39:55] <Angel_Mage321> "ready when you are, Azure." The angelic mage takes a step back, analyzing the situation but not with the item - that would be dumb!
[19:40:04] <@Giantree> The golem in front of the whispering-group roared… helplessly, considering they were outside the doorway or something. At least THAT hadn't changed much over the next century-and-a-half. The same went for the one to the south.. though, that group seemed a bit more prepared.
[19:40:48] <Inu888> "Mods are dix. You ever look at the forums? They don't answer questions and anyone that complains gets banned. Only help you're getting is from other players."
[19:40:55] <Azure> "Always ready. I'll do the damage, you get my back."
[19:41:08] <Angel_Mage321> "it's what I do best."
[19:42:30] * Inu888 stops to look around
[19:42:40] <Inu888> "Anything heeere~?"
[19:43:17] <@Giantree> The golem to the north stands still, some crystal substance pouring out of its assumed eye-hole. It still can't attack them, but they can't attack it either. ;_;
[19:43:24] * Inu888 holds up a banana to his forehead as if there were a pair of binoculars
[19:43:41] * Inu888 looks around with them
[19:43:54] <Angel_Mage321> "go for it, Blue!"
[19:44:22] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Want to head to the others or fight it now?"
[19:44:34] <Azure> Azure stepped up, gauntlet raised. "Clear the path, golem, or we'll clear you!" A ball of light and heat appeared in front of Azure. A push sent it on course for collision with the golem.
[19:44:59] <Azure> 2d6+9
[19:45:00] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 2d6+9: 15 [2d6=2,4]
[19:45:10] <@Giantree> 2d6 +?
[19:45:12] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +?: 7 [2d6=5,2]
[19:45:12] <Azure> saving magiboost for ratel
[19:45:28] <@Giantree> .. Ehh, no fun allowed. You DO beat it.
[19:45:37] <Azure> 1d6
[19:45:38] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 1d6: 1 [1d6=1]
[19:45:40] <Azure> ha
[19:45:43] <Azure> ha
[19:45:43] <Azure> ha
[19:45:44] <Azure> oh
[19:45:49] <Azure> fuck you
[19:46:18] <Azure> Unfortunately, it mostly fizzled out by the time it reached the golem. "That's your warning."
[19:46:47] * Inu888 sees nothing but a golem, no boxes to open
[19:46:48] <@Giantree> The golem wasn't very warned, its nearly-white body glistening as the blast DID fizzle. It stomped forward a bit.
[19:47:40] <Inu888> "Eh… Seems like there's nothing else… Maybe if I kill it, I can get something out of it."
[19:47:44] <Angel_Mage321> The angel will do something that's probably stupid: go on the attack. With a hand outstretched, the girl called forth a celestial power, launching the staff at the golem.
[19:47:55] <Angel_Mage321> 3d6+7 magic
[19:47:56] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, magic: 18 [3d6=6,1,4]

[19:48:10] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> No, my power
[19:48:11] <@Giantree> fuck yeah
[19:48:16] <@Giantree> …
[19:48:18] <@Giantree> Wait, magic?
[19:48:20] <Angel_Mage321> 25 and 4m
[19:48:21] <@Giantree> oh you PEOPLE
[19:48:33] <Azure> I suck at fury
[19:49:23] <@Giantree> 2d6 +?
[19:49:23] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +?: 10 [2d6=6,4]

[19:49:42] <@Giantree> … 25 you say?
[19:50:36] <@Giantree> yeah no you hit it fine
[19:50:40] <Angel_Mage321> 1d6+6 damage
[19:50:41] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, damage: 10 [1d6=4]
[19:50:48] <@Giantree> poor thing
[19:48:11] * Inu888 reaches into his boxorz and pulls out the Splash Spread and shoves Plasma Shwurfer down into the abyss
[19:49:40] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I"ll use scan, then you attack with the right attribute or whatever they call it in this game."
[19:50:23] <Inu888> "Eh, sure."
[19:51:23] <Angel_Mage321> *KRAK!* with surprising power, the staff connected violently with the golem "stay out of out way!"
[19:52:05] <@Giantree> The golem braced itself to defend… but, it didn't do so well. That said, it still stood strong, as most golems do. Or rather, it slammed its hands into the ground and opened its golemy mouth, spewing… SOMETHING at the two. Some kind of light?
[19:52:18] <Azure> "That was pretty uh… why are you a healer, again?"
[19:52:39] <Inu888> A symbol appears over his head with a blue "BRB" inside the text bubbles… "Gotta piss."
[19:52:51] * Inu888 is standing completely still
[19:52:53] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX pulls out an old, bulky looking pair of binoculars and puts it against his eyes. A large, transparent crosshair hovers around the golem as the data begins to show
[19:53:49] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "oh shit, I already scanned. Fuck me."
[19:54:07] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX activates his /cry emote and starts sobbing
[19:54:28] <Azure> The light vanished into nothingness in front of Azure, as if she were defended by a black hole.
[19:54:33] <@Giantree> The two were able to continue a pleasant conversation, considering the beam of light hit nothing. Almost like it was aimed at nothing, that's how bad it was.
[19:55:00] <Inu888> "Back."
[19:55:19] <Angel_Mage321> "I…I dunno. Gramma had a thing with angels, so I took after one. Kind of just went for a concept build."
[19:56:54] <Azure> "Oh, that's interesting. I went with a space theme, since it's such a big area of discovery and exploration, which is what I'm looking for in this game."
[19:57:06] <Inu888> "Oi, what's it's weakness."
[19:57:13] <@Giantree> The results of the scanning define the golem-creature as a "Crystalline." Gee, what a surprise. Its name is the color white and a big "1500/1500" is shown over said name. That's it, though; it seems like some information may be withheld.
[20:04:26] <Inu888> "Blah."
[20:05:04] * Inu888 pulls out a bananan from his boxorz and yells "THE SPLIT" as he tosses the banana harmlessly in front of the golem
[20:09:43] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX fires hastily at the Golem, cocking the bolt as fast as she can
[20:09:58] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> 2d6+6
[20:09:59] <+DiceMaid-9001> XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX, 2d6+6: 13 [2d6=3,4]
[20:10:26] <@Giantree> and what's this with again?
[20:11:11] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> black
[20:11:13] <@Giantree> kk
[20:11:22] <@Giantree> 2d6
[20:11:24] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 2d6: 3 [2d6=2,1]
[20:11:32] <@Giantree> that's more or less a crit
[20:11:34] <@Giantree> damage go
[20:13:57] <@Giantree> And the bullet placed a crack in the creature— its numerical display went straight down to somewhere around '800.' Enraged, the creature began stomping forward at the two…
[20:16:38] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, THE SLIP.: 12 [2d6=6,6]
[20:16:48] <@Giantree> oh my god
[20:16:51] <Inu888> Critical Slip.
[20:19:29] <Inu888> The Golem steps on the banana and as it does so, its foot loses traction. Its leg slides from beneath its center of gravity and it falls backwards, head popping off..
[20:20:02] <@Giantree> That's slapstick humor for you. It also shattered into pieces, if that means anything! And in the remains was…
[20:21:16] <@Giantree> … Another one of those scanner-things. The RNG hasn't been doing a very good job today.
[20:21:52] <Angel_Mage321> Meanwhile, back in the competent players area…
[20:22:14] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "ANOTHER analyzer?"
[20:22:30] <Inu888> "Ah damn… and I wasted my time using that banana." And walks over to pick up the Analyzer, Splash Spread in hand.
[20:23:54] <Angel_Mage321> "you wanna finish it, or shall I?"
[20:27:59] <Azure> Azure wasn't the most competetive player, but getting upstaged by a HEALER would embarass any fighter. This time had to be a little more serious. "If he doesn't go down, you can clean up the scraps." Azure got up in the golem's face, arm cocked back, gauntlet glowing, Was a megastar punch coming? Nah. Azure flicked a tiny star into the golem. Unfortunately for the golem, said star collapsed and imploded, sucking up huge chunks o
[20:28:36] <Azure> …huge chunks of their foe.
[20:26:32] <Azure> 3d6+9 magic and boost
[20:26:33] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, magic and boost: 20 [3d6=3,4,4]
[20:27:13] <@Giantree> 2d6 +? good luck
[20:27:15] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +? good luck: 5 [2d6=1,4]
[20:27:24] <@Giantree> You're fine, hit it… but please hit it hard
[20:29:21] <Azure> 1d6+2
[20:29:22] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 1d6+2: 6 [1d6=4]
[20:29:34] <@Giantree> ohhh ffff
[20:31:25] <@Giantree> And HUGE chunks indeed were blown off, tearing off an arm, a leg… two legs, a good chunk of its torso— however, the golem just barely still stood and roared as it attempted to move in Ha- er, Angel's direction. Would it succeed? Likely not.
[20:31:58] <Angel_Mage321> Still up?
[20:32:04] <@Giantree> honestly
[20:32:06] <@Giantree> it has 1 HP left
[20:32:09] <@Giantree> have fun
[20:32:25] <Angel_Mage321> 2d6+8 heart
[20:32:25] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, heart: 16 [2d6=2,6]
[20:32:33] <@Giantree> weener
[20:32:36] <Angel_Mage321> 1d6 this was unnecessary
[20:32:37] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, this was unnecessary: 4 [1d6=4]
[20:32:44] <@Giantree> 2d6 anyway though inb4 6,6; 6,6; 6,6
[20:32:45] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, anyway though inb4 6,6: 6 [2d6=5,1]; 6,6: 12 []; 6,6: 12 []
[20:32:53] <@Giantree> haha
[20:32:57] <@Giantree> no dicemaid that was a joke
[20:33:12] <@Giantree> that said, you can roll your 1 if you really want to, otherwise bam
[20:33:26] <Angel_Mage321> Nah. Bam.
[20:34:41] <Angel_Mage321> It wasn't dead. Not entirely. But the angel would fix that. Not with an explosion, a punch, or even a banana peel appearing in an opportune place. She just closed her eyes and held out the staff.
[20:35:31] <Angel_Mage321> The slow-moving golem kept trying to attack…and trying…but it failed. The girl's will had decreed it would fall. And so it did.
[20:35:44] <@Giantree> Tink! And… boom. Well, it wasn't going to go out without SOME dramatic effect anyway. And, with its passing, it became all too clear that there was another passage to the west.
[20:35:59] <Azure> "Good work on that one, Angel. Flawless Victory."
[20:36:28] <@Giantree> As it fell, nothing was left behind except a bunch of crystal pieces. As for the not-so-competent-but-really-lucky group, a passage lay to THEIR west as well.. who would reach the goal first?
[20:36:51] <Angel_Mage321> "well…maybe not flawless…" she eyes the syringe in her hands warily. "I may need this later…"
[20:38:29] <Angel_Mage321> *ping!* a friend request pops up in front of Azure. Why the angel couldn't just ask was beyond all of us.
[20:39:04] <@Giantree> And why technology couldn't get rid of that godforsaken concept was beyond all of us too. Seriously, why didn't that become obsolete by, like, 2015?
[20:41:42] <Azure> Whatever the case, Azure accepted the request and gave a quick nod to the angel. Becoming friends in the first exploration of a dungeon, that'd be a cool story.
[20:42:59] * Angel_Mage321 smiled, before frowning. Something was going on. It was as if commands were being entered in with the authority of the teenager who was actually at the terminal. "hey, what…"
[20:43:04] <@Giantree> So, both groups, while still separate, found passages leading west.
[20:44:00] <Angel_Mage321> Feathers kept falling off her wings, sloughing off skin in the process. After what seemed like too long a time, it stopped…but it was still a bit unnerving.
[20:44:23] <Angel_Mage321> As was a small timer in the girl's display.
[20:44:29] <Azure> "I can't imagine why you'd want a feature like that."
[20:44:52] * Inu888 walks off down the west corridor, moving the Golem's head along in front of him by rolling it with his feet
[20:45:21] <Angel_Mage321> "I didn't…must have been a glitch or something…"
[20:45:38] <@Giantree> OH BOY, HOW EXCITING, more boxxor-fodder. Boxor? Looks better with two. A big red box lie in the otherwise empty room… and 'empty' meant completely empty, no passages or anything. But at least there was something there.
[20:45:42] <Angel_Mage321> Before leaving, Angel will take one last look. Any loot?
[20:45:54] <Azure> Azure looked the glitchy girl over, "Weird, you alright?"
[20:46:13] <@Giantree> On the shattered golemcorpse? Nothing, RNG was angry. To the west, though, there was potential to be SOMETHING.
[20:46:17] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX followed Inu westwards, grumbling about the crappy loot
[20:46:28] <Angel_Mage321> "yeah…no arr-ell effect, so I'm not worried."
[20:47:09] <@Giantree> Blasted terminology, would it ever cease at ANY point in the future? … No, probably not, carry on.
[20:47:20] <Azure> Azure set out westwards, "Well, let's go. If it acts up, we can stop while you shake it off, alright?"
[20:47:37] <Inu888> "My banana senses are tingling."
[20:47:53] * Inu888 eyes the box… it's not a colour he agrees with
[20:48:01] <Inu888> "It's red… So it's dangerous. You open it… With your gun."
[20:48:18] <Angel_Mage321> "yeah…" The angel continues west, get new friend in tow.
[20:48:36] <@Giantree> Perhaps some ?SPECIAL WEAPON images could be evoked… actually no, they probably couldn't, that's too many years to even count. And these people likely weren't historians of any sort.
[20:48:43] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX unfolds the bayonet and lifts off the lid with it
[20:49:19] <@Giantree> If boxes had openable lids that would've made things a lot easier… but no, at least tapping it caused it to disappear with a mild, cute explosion.
[20:51:02] <@Giantree> … What lie there was definitely something that DID evoke some imagery of explosions. Er, well, it was red anyway. Fiery red. Like it was burning— okay, no, enough of that, it actually WAS burning, but at least the fire was on the inside of it instead of lighting things on the outside. It looked like some sort of orb, and it MAY or may not have been safe to touch. Who could know?
[20:51:15] <Inu888> While XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX is busy with the box. Inu888 picks up the Golem head and stuffs it down his boxorz. Muttering to himself… "I can probably get this thing to a crafting NPC."
[20:52:06] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX pulls out his analyzer to scan the item
[20:52:12] <Inu888> "Enjoy my inventory space, buddy" were the last things it heard before it was shoved completely into the abyss.
[20:52:14] <@Giantree> At least THOSE were obsolete for the past few decades. But SOME people still dream.
[20:54:54] <@Giantree> Boring scanning, boring result… okay, that's just a maybe. "070-W {Cinder Orb}(S: Magical T: Mystic E: Fire)[+1 to all fire affinity] @ ???." Something also indicated wordlessly that it would not, in fact, burn anybody who tried to pick it up and use it… being on the receiving end, however, was a totally different ball game. Get it? Ball? Because it's an or- yeah okay there's…
[20:54:58] <@Giantree> … nothing more in the room, get out of there.
[20:57:10] <Inu888> "Oh cool. Well you can probably throw it at something. Let's find the others, wherever they are."
[20:57:42] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX picks it up and stuffs it in his backpack
[20:58:16] <@Giantree> As for the angel & pal who were off doing their own thing, and are also must better at using pronouns correctly, a path to the west lie ahead of them. Did they already take it? The narration needs to check again.
[20:58:21] * Inu888 plods his way back to the room with the Gemanoid corpses. Bannana print waving around with the fabric of his boxorz.
[20:58:47] <Angel_Mage321> They may not have, but if so they were doing so now. At least Angel was.
[20:59:04] <@Giantree> Yes, they did. That said, they find themselves in a room with not one, but TWO things of notice in it… but they weren't to the left and right or anything silly like that. One was right there as they entered the room, likely blocking the path to the staircase behind it. A big red box.
[20:59:47] <Azure> Azure kept pushing westwards along with Angel, stopped by the box. "Trap or treasure, wanna call it now?"
[20:59:48] <Angel_Mage321> And the other?
[21:00:05] * Inu888 continues onward to the empty room to the west
[21:00:09] <Angel_Mage321> "probably both. You have any picks?"
[21:00:10] <Inu888> *east
[21:00:55] <@Giantree> Don't worry, the other group can find their way just fine… unless they want to, you know, try jumping off the walkway for fun or something.
[21:00:59] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX sets Inu888 back on auto-follow and continues following him
[21:01:16] * Inu888 goes south…
[21:01:25] * Angel_Mage321 will hesitantly poke the box with the tip of her staff.
[21:01:52] <Azure> "Gonna call it as treasure, if I open it, I'm trusting you to cover me."
[21:02:11] <Azure> Azure went looking around the box for an opening
[21:02:15] <Angel_Mage321> "one way to find out…"
[21:03:05] <Inu888> "Oi, XxX, what direction they go?"
[21:04:17] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I think…..west?"
[21:05:26] <@Giantree> And the box… uh, what did the box do? Oh right, it exploded. SO many more exciting things for it to d- wait, what the crap? That's not just a small explosion, that's the whole ROOM getting flooded with some bright white light… well that's not good.
[21:07:15] <Azure> 2d6+9
[21:07:16] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 2d6+9: 16 [2d6=6,1]
[21:07:19] <@Giantree> both of you are ac- whoop
[21:07:27] <Azure> 1d6 fuck u
[21:07:28] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, fuck u: 4 [1d6=4]
[21:07:32] <Azure> 20
[21:07:34] <Azure> suck it
[21:07:39] <@Giantree> oh right that was magic wasn't it
[21:07:40] <Angel_Mage321> 2d6+7
[21:07:40] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 2d6+7: 14 [2d6=6,1]
[21:07:45] <Angel_Mage321> 1d6
[21:07:46] <@Giantree> hahaha
[21:07:46] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 1d6: 3 [1d6=3]
[21:07:48] <@Giantree> that's so cute
[21:07:51] <Angel_Mage321> 17 here
[21:07:51] <@Giantree> you guys are cute
[21:07:55] <Azure> >6 1 6 1
[21:08:01] <Azure> bffs
[21:08:05] <@Giantree> and 1m for both of you
[21:08:09] <@Giantree> that SAID
[21:08:38] <@Giantree> You both did a pretty okay job of besting 15, so you SOMEHOW get out of the way when shit blows up. Better luck next time, exploding chest.
[21:05:38] * Inu888 starts plodding to the west
[21:06:14] * Inu888 enters the room and notices a pile of Crystals… "Seems like they've been here, alright."
[21:06:21] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX follows Inu888 in the exact same pacing.
[21:06:31] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Lets keep heading west"
[21:06:36] <Angel_Mage321> "Aack!"
[21:08:42] <Inu888> "Hear that, looks like they need us already!"
[21:10:19] <@Giantree> Fortunately, it didn't cause a huge amount of damage— the white light from the explosion, instead of wrecking the place, converged until it took the form of a small object… a green, circular one, actually. Looked sort of like a donut, but LIKELY in the future nobody eats those anymore. They have much better sweets.
[21:10:25] <Azure> Azure managed to safely ride the explosion out on her backpack, afterwards she frantically searched for Angel, "HOLY AI, that was exciting, but I'm really, really sorry about calling that so badly. Man…"
[21:11:11] * Inu888 enters the room wondering why Azure and Angel Mage look so surprised
[21:11:19] <Angel_Mage321> "you have an extra analyzer…mind scanning what's left?
[21:11:39] <Angel_Mage321> S/me is right next to azure
[21:11:50] <Inu888> "Yo, wassap?" as he's waving Splash Spread…
[21:11:56] * Angel_Mage321 is right next to Azure as she recoils
[21:12:03] <Inu888> "Why you need one of those?"
[21:12:28] <Azure> Azure followed the other girl's request and scanned over the notdonut, "What is this? Let's find out."
[21:12:37] <Angel_Mage321> "that." Angel points to the green tarus. "you mind scanningit for us?"
[21:12:53] <Angel_Mage321> Or Azure can do it. That works.
[21:13:00] <@Giantree> Well, people in the future may know what chakrams look like, who knows? But 'donut' just kinda fit.
[21:14:01] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Looks like a green oil cake."
[21:14:05] <@Giantree> It was an awfully simple scanning, like they all seemed to be: "051-W {Sylph Circle}(S: Ranged T: Thrown (Chakram) E: Wind)[???] @ ???." The first '???' seemed more taunting, however, as the question marks were multiple colors and bounced around on the display, like it was something ESPECIALLY secretive.
[21:14:54] <Angel_Mage321> "well…it's a white throwing weapon. Yours if you want it Azure."
[21:15:41] <Azure> Azure picked up the nonblue weapon, other than color, it appeared to be made for her. "Well, thanks. Let's hope it was worth the risk."
[21:16:31] <Angel_Mage321> "yeah…anyway…going up?" Angel motions to the staircase. Thankfully none of them appeared to be especially heavy.
[21:16:54] <Inu888> "Definately."
[21:16:57] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I have another white item…cinder something."
[21:17:00] <@Giantree> Hopefully not. The staircase led down… THOUGH, the healer herself likely wasn't responsible for that mistake. Where the staircase lead was something totally else.
[21:17:13] * Inu888 starts running up the staircase as fast as possible (STUPSTUPSTUPSTUPSTUP)
[21:17:20] <Inu888> *down
[21:17:44] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX slid down the railings
[21:18:08] <Azure> Azure stuck by her angelic friend, "I'm okay with white, but not an expert, that'd be angel. I'm more of a gray/thrown, but white's not a problem."
[21:18:11] <@Giantree> ONE of the group members made their way down, at least… okay, two. Unfortunately there weren't any railings or even any walls, meaning that could just as easily be read as "jumped off the walkway into certain death."
[21:18:49] <Angel_Mage321> "well if you don't want it…"
[21:18:51] <@Giantree> But thanks to a benevolent narrator, it would probably be easier to just explain that there is a staircase down with no walls… leading into what seems to be some kind of big dome-esque building.
[21:19:33] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX hollars from below "It's yours if you can make it down here"
[21:19:37] <Azure> "I'll take this one, but whattshisface mentioned another white weapon."
[21:20:07] * Angel_Mage321 will race down the stairs "what is it exactly?"
[21:20:17] <Inu888> "Fuck yah! More rooms means more stuff to get!"
[21:20:34] <Azure> "He said cinder? Anyway, doesn't this look dungeonbossy?"
[21:21:22] <@Giantree> It was made evident with almost steampunk-esque propellors how the whole place was being kept afloat as they made their way down— and if the dome didn't look bossy enough, there was a big set of double-doors waiting for them at the bottom of the staircase.
[21:21:34] <Angel_Mage321> "eh…kinda. Gimme a sec to write some more code…"
[21:22:11] <Azure> "Hey, d'you have to? It's more fun playing naturally than having the game play itself."
[21:22:24] <Inu888> "You do that, I'm going in" is exclaimed, while he was kicking in the doors when he was saying "I'm".
[21:22:35] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX pulls out the Cinder Orb from his backpack "This thing."
[21:22:39] <Angel_Mage321> While the girl was supposedly coding, the angel's body was again overcome by a molting of her feathers. When it did finish, she looked…a bit different.
[21:22:53] <Angel_Mage321> "it's for my day job, actually…and done!"
[21:23:18] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX tosses the Cinder Orb towards Angel
[21:23:19] * Inu888 enters the room yelling "FIRST."
[21:23:24] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "catch!"
[21:23:54] * Angel_Mage321 will take it. "hmm…" it feels warm. Almost familiar. "that's odd…"
[21:23:54] <Azure> "Well, I guess bananahead's gonna set off the traps for us. Let's follow up."
[21:23:59] <Inu888> It's as if he were commenting on someone's d-log.
[21:24:01] <@Giantree> Throwing balls on fire is a perfectly harmless sport in the future! All the cool kids are doing it.
[21:24:59] <@Giantree> Anyway, past the doors was a brightly-lit room… candles adorning all the walls. The floor and ceiling were pretty nondescript, but it was certainly a single large room in a dome-esque building. And scraps of something silver - and possibly metallic - seemed to be scattered about the floor.
[21:25:03] <Angel_Mage321> "let's wait a little longer. Makes sure he sets all of them off."
[21:26:10] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Do you think mobs can talk?"
[21:26:14] <@Giantree> Far to the back, it looked like there was SOME kind of door… but, nobody was paying attention to that. Probably.
[21:26:49] <Angel_Mage321> "can you do me a favor, triple x?"
[21:25:18] <Angel_Mage321> >boss room
[21:25:23] <Angel_Mage321> >obvious door
[21:25:24] <@Giantree> <3
[21:25:30] <Angel_Mage321> >plenty of time to plan
[21:25:41] <Angel_Mage321> >charge in like Leeroy Jenkins anyway
[21:25:42] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> >LEEEROY JEEEEEEEEEEENNNNKIIIIIIINSSSSSS
[21:25:43] <Angel_Mage321> >mfw
[21:25:45] <Inu888> Fuck planning. I GOT DIS SHIZ.
[21:25:04] <@Giantree> -mechanic +metallic
[21:26:10] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Do you think mobs can talk?"
[21:26:14] <@Giantree> Far to the back, it looked like there was SOME kind of door… but, nobody was paying attention to that. Probably.
[21:26:49] <Angel_Mage321> "can you do me a favor, triple x?"
[21:26:58] * Inu888 has Splash Spread in hand
[21:27:17] * Inu888 WALKS to the far end to check THAT door
[21:27:33] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "Only if it's worded kindly."
[21:27:44] <@Giantree> Nope. THAT notion was stopped by some rumbling… severe rumbling. And a question that was just asked was about to be answered in a not-so-pleasant way.
[21:27:49] <Azure> Azure lurked by the entrance. Waiting while others adventured sucked, but she neither wanted to ditch Angel nor was a foolish enough player to charge in blindly.
[21:28:07] <@Giantree> From seemingly nowhere, there was an echo— the scraps lining the ground jingled and moved around, rumbling with the building. "P…"
[21:28:19] <Inu888> "P?"
[21:28:30] <Angel_Mage321> "once we get out of there, kindly log off, spend the next two days reading the manual, and change your name to something legible. Please?"
[21:28:35] <Azure> "What a powerful voice!"
[21:28:38] <@Giantree> "Pow…"
[21:29:03] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "I"ll…consider it."
[21:29:06] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX smiles
[21:29:08] <Inu888> "Pow? Powrk?"
[21:29:21] <Angel_Mage321> "you really should…oh boy…"
[21:29:27] * Inu888 yells to the dubbledoors "Hey guys, I think I found the boss."
[21:29:27] <@Giantree> Plenty of the metallic shards formed together.. forming a greave. Then a gauntlet. Or, you know, whatever, they turned into a massive medieval knight's armor, which took its position in the center of the arena. "STRENGTH!"
[21:29:55] <Azure> "Fight time, let's go." Azure got moving after Inu
[21:30:05] * Angel_Mage321 quickly follows
[21:30:21] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX slowly follows behind Angel
[21:30:21] <Inu888> "And I think we got him flanked!"
[21:30:25] <@Giantree> A huge lance appeared in its hand— fortunately it wasn't mounted, but it began eyeing the group from the white glow evident underneath its visor.
[21:31:34] <Angel_Mage321> "it's another white monster - use white or black attacks if you can!" Angel isn't gonna make that mistake again.
[21:34:06] * Inu888 yells over to to the Trio "Oi, Triple X, what's this thing's stats?"
[21:34:38] <@Giantree> They might not be able to find that out for a while. The knight is visibly frustrated.
[21:34:40] <Angel_Mage321> "You want me to try attacking some more?"
[21:35:45] <Inu888> "Go ahead!"
[21:35:54] <@Giantree> She had a hip n' cool new weapon to do so with— what reason was there NOT to?
[21:36:04] <Inu888> As that is said, he pats his boxorz.
[21:36:28] <Angel_Mage321> In that case, Angel will wind up and throw the orb as hard as she can!
[21:36:53] <@Giantree> While the intent was ACTUALLY to use it to shoot fire, hey, who's to complain? It'll probably still blow up… probably.
[21:36:40] <Angel_Mage321> 2d6+7
[21:36:41] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 2d6+7: 10 [2d6=1,2]
[21:36:48] <Angel_Mage321> Well fuck
[21:37:03] <@Giantree> Blowing up in a not-so-great way.
[21:37:12] <@Giantree> 2d6 +? WELL THEN HI THERE 6,6
[21:37:13] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +? WELL THEN HI THERE 6,6: 4 [2d6=3,1]
[21:37:32] <@Giantree> … wow
[21:37:35] <@Giantree> um
[21:37:36] <@Giantree> wow
[21:38:19] <Angel_Mage321> Oh right. +1 to fire attacks?
[21:38:47] <@Giantree> no, you won't be happy when you find out
[21:38:52] <Angel_Mage321> Or not.
[21:38:52] <Inu888> She scorez Nothing.
[21:39:16] <Inu888> Well, you can at least pick it up.
[21:38:37] <@Giantree> That said, the orb most definitely hit its armor… and then bounced off. It wasn't even singed, despite being wreathed in flame.
[21:39:39] <Angel_Mage321> "hrmm…" Angel grabs the ball as it bounces back towards her. "Hey Triple X, what were the EXACT specs on this thing?"
[21:40:27] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "…uh, Magical…Mystic, +1 to fire affinity"
[21:41:33] <@Giantree> One other thing was being overlooked. Perhaps the… non-shining of its armor as the creature was wrapped in a negative aura and held out its lance could've said something? You never know… but it definitely did show the intent to charge forward, through all three of them.
[21:43:19] <Angel_Mage321> "oh…huh." It seemed so familiar…this boss, the lance…even the molting seemed to agree, Angel's normally deep brown hair was tinged with a pale red.
[21:42:35] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +? Hai- er, Angel, Azure, Crazyname in order, according to map: 6 [2d6=1,5]
[21:42:47] <Azure> chtupid chakram
[21:42:52] <@Giantree> Ganbatte ne, also please indicate what you're defending with because I am a tool
[21:43:06] <@Giantree> clashing is also totally fine
[21:43:22] <Azure> clash with attack stat?
[21:43:37] <@Giantree> yeah
[21:44:04] <Angel_Mage321> Does passive 11m get there?
[21:44:30] <@Giantree> well… not spoiling is hard
[21:44:36] <@Giantree> You'll have to tiebreak but yes.
[21:44:49] <Azure> 2d6+6 heart clash fuck you chakram attack
[21:44:50] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, heart clash fuck you chakram attack: 14 [2d6=3,5]
[21:44:51] <Angel_Mage321> Okay. Active defense then.
[21:45:00] <@Giantree> k
[21:45:03] <Angel_Mage321> 2d6+8
[21:45:04] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 2d6+8: 18 [2d6=5,5]
[21:49:22] <+DiceMaid-9001> XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX, 2d6+6: 14 [2d6=3,5]
[21:51:04] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, -1 and -2 on you kids on decreasing order of name craziness: 5 [1d10=5]
[21:51:06] <@Giantree> thanks
[21:51:11] <@Giantree> you take 4 and 3, then
[21:53:11] <@Giantree> Charging through the group, it… well, it did what charges usually do, actually, finding itself now standing against the wall. Turning, it raised its lance in the air. "STRENGTH!"
[21:54:01] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> "…maybe…we should spread out next time"
[21:54:19] * Inu888 has a disconnect symbol over his head, he's lagging.
[21:54:56] <Angel_Mage321> "oh for the love of…go you two!"
[21:54:57] <Azure> Azure attempted to counter by hurling the chakram, to no success.
[21:57:51] <@Giantree> At least it reappeared in her hands, saving some troubles, but nothing seemed to happen… that is, until a few seconds later, when some clanging sounds could be heard from inside its armor. They quickly died down though.
[21:58:32] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX uses Scan on the boss
[21:58:32] * Inu888 STILL has the disconnect symbol over his head, flashing every second
[21:58:40] <Angel_Mage321> "you need a heal?" Angel sounds concerned. It's almost as if she sounds a bit older.
[21:59:08] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> scannin
[21:59:11] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> Roll?
[21:59:16] <@Giantree> yes please

[21:59:26] <Angel_Mage321> Lol fail
[21:59:27] <@Giantree> You learn that it's a knight.
[21:59:32] <Inu888> This boss fight's taking a toll on mah connection.
[21:59:36] <XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX> oh boy
[21:59:39] <@Giantree> It also has a lance and likes to chant "strength."
[22:01:28] <@Giantree> The scan had terrible results, but nobody needs to know that.
[22:01:28] <Azure> "Y-yeah, kinda caught me hard there."
[22:02:22] * Inu888 teleports back and forth between his position and the boss… two of those times he teleported looked like he was attacking…
[22:01:17] <Inu888> 2d6+8 First attack
[22:01:18] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, First attack: 11 [2d6=2,1]
[22:01:28] <Inu888> 2d6+8 Second attack
[22:01:29] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, Second attack: 17 [2d6=4,5]
[22:01:49] <@Giantree> 2d6 +? first defense

[22:01:58] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +? second defense: 4 [2d6=3,1]
[22:02:09] <@Giantree> #1 whiffs, #2 hits
[22:02:21] <@Giantree> Also you take OC to do that, right? What'd you take it to?
[22:02:35] <Inu888> To fury.
[22:02:47] <Inu888> 1d6 successful attack
[22:02:48] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, successful attack: 6 [1d6=6]
[22:02:49] <@Giantree> 'kay
[22:02:52] <@Giantree> and gj
[22:02:53] <Angel_Mage321> Nice
[22:03:56] <Inu888> "LAAAAAAAAAAG" is moaned when one of the attacks misses, disregarding the success of the other.
[22:07:15] <Angel_Mage321> "come on…let's see if we can keep it from dealing any more damage?"
[22:07:37] <Azure> "This thing kinda hurt me, let's take it out."
[22:11:05] <@Giantree> Stomping it's… uh, knight-foot, the armor-monster shouted some incomprehensible nonsense and charged its way toward the 'lagger'— which may have provided some defense, considering how poor these things are usually coded.
[22:14:41] * Inu888 stands there… lagging some more… all that's coming vocally is a "DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" with a symbolic hint over his head showing that he's lagging
[22:12:09] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, +? can't wait until I can reveal it, so sick of +?: 10 [2d6=5,5]
[22:12:15] <@Giantree> oh luck good boy
[22:16:27] <Inu888> Passive white.
[22:16:48] <Inu888> LAG TAKES WILLPOWER TO OVERCOME.
[22:16:50] <@Giantree> I so would've loved to grant lag bonus
[22:17:00] <@Giantree> but it CHEATS AND AUTOHITS
[22:17:04] <@Giantree> BROKEN BOSS IS BROKEN
[22:17:14] <@Giantree> 1d10 GOOD LUCK I LOVE YOU
[22:17:16] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, GOOD LUCK I LOVE YOU: 8 [1d10=8]
[22:17:20] <@Giantree> NO SUCH LUCK
[22:17:58] <@Giantree> so dogeight's at 5, dumbname at 10, blue at 9, and minihailey still 13
[22:18:29] <Inu888> Graaaaaaaaaaaah
[22:19:28] <@Giantree> With just as much warping, the knight-beast was on the other side of the room now… and something looked sort of painful to the person it had just crossed.
[22:20:24] <Azure> Azure switched back to the gauntlet, which began to mass generate a pile of stars in the air above the girl's head. The glowing balls of energy, heat, and light accumulated until a single flick sent them straight up, up, up. "Let's make one for the historybanks, Angel!"
[22:20:40] <Inu888> *POW* "RRRRRRRRRRP" as Inu888 spins in the air along his vertical axis before hitting the ground.
[22:21:31] <Angel_Mage321> "with pleasure…" Angel added her own power to the attack, keeping it held down as long as she could.
[22:24:39] <Azure> "Shooting Star STORM!" The flame surrounded, glowing shooting stars rained from the nonliteral heavens, blazing through the air into the StrengthKnight, each one detonating on contact in a ball of fire.
[22:21:49] <Angel_Mage321> 3d6+7+2
[22:21:49] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 3d6+7+2: 19 [3d6=6,1,3]

[22:24:04] <@Giantree> considering you all KNOW you got a +3
[22:24:10] <@Giantree> I'm urged to not even roll
[22:24:13] <@Giantree> but ehhh
[22:24:24] <@Giantree> 2d6+6 YOU KNOW WHAT WHY NOT
[22:24:25] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, YOU KNOW WHAT WHY NOT: 12 [2d6=3,3]
[22:24:42] <@Giantree> Applied to both, it's fucked, nothing happens. Roll your awesome damage you awesome people.
[22:24:57] <Angel_Mage321> 1d6+4+2
[22:24:58] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 1d6+4+2: 9 [1d6=3]
[22:25:11] <Azure> 2d6+6 magic strike, GET SOME
[22:25:12] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, magic strike, GET SOME: 10 [2d6=3,1]
[22:25:20] <@Giantree> It sure got some.
[22:27:14] <@Giantree> And they did, it tried to shout its usual word during each hit but ended up coming out somewhat muffled. Angrily, the creature raised its lance again… but, it wasn't quite ready to do what it wanted to do. Not yet.
[22:27:24] * Inu888 gets up, recovering from the lag+TELEBOSS fukyutodafays to see the boss exploding. "Awesome."
[22:28:23] * XxX_Sp4Rt4nTok3r69_XxX uses Scan again
[22:32:05] <@Giantree> Considering how intently the 'knight' was watching, it instinctively raised a barrier as the scanning happened, expecting some form of attack— needless to say, that somehow ended blocking it out. Well, okay.
[22:32:41] <Angel_Mage321> "For the love of…FORGET SCANNING IT! JUST ATTACK!"
[22:33:17] <@Giantree> That said, it continued to hold its defensive position from where it was.
[22:34:46] * Inu888 reaches into his pants and pulls out two bananas and tosses them at the Knight Boss "Take THIS and THAT!"
[22:36:37] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, DOUBLE NANA ATTACK.: 10 [2d6=2,1]
[22:36:44] <Inu888> derp
[22:37:15] <@Giantree> 2d6+6 okay.jpg
[22:37:17] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, okay.jpg: 14 [2d6=4,4]

[22:37:28] <@Giantree> haha
[22:37:29] <@Giantree> wow
[22:37:34] <@Giantree> how does that crap HAPPEN
[22:38:32] <@Giantree> They landed to the sides of it. Apparently it wasn't very hungry.
[22:50:52] <Azure> 2d6+9
[22:50:52] <Azure> 2,3
[22:50:53] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 2d6+9: 19 [2d6=4,6]
[22:50:57] <Angel_Mage321> Anyway. Please to be attacking
[22:50:58] <Azure> or not
[22:51:00] <Azure> 1d6
[22:51:01] <+DiceMaid-9001> Azure, 1d6: 2 [1d6=2]
[22:51:04] <@Giantree> heh
[22:51:04] <Azure> 21
[22:51:10] <@Giantree> Just a normal?
[22:51:16] <@Giantree> 2d6+8 zzz
[22:51:17] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, zzz: 15 [2d6=6,1]
[22:51:20] <@Giantree> 1d6
[22:51:20] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 1d6: 6 [1d6=6]
[22:51:22] <@Giantree> 1d6
[22:51:22] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 1d6: 1 [1d6=1]
[22:51:25] <@Giantree> -3
[22:51:38] <@Giantree> so even with that, nope.png
[22:50:52] <Azure> "Still standing? Bosses like you always lose, so that won't be for long." Azure tosses a final star into the sky and watched it fall right… in front of herself, where gave it a push, and the deceptive attack shot hopefully straight towards the Strength Knight
[22:55:08] <@Giantree> It certainly took the hit… a little too hard, actually. Suddenly, the arena began to collapse, and it became so much more evident that there was sky under them— and where they were standing, actually, as the speed at which the floor fell increased and increased until they were standing on nothing, but still felt as though it were solid ground. Silver wings sprouted from the armor's back.
[22:55:10] * Inu888 digs into boxorz for two MORE bananas to chuck at the boss and does so
[22:55:55] <@Giantree> With the transformation of the arena, it transformed as well, growing to become some sort of MASSIVE ARMOR CREATURE with a lance a befitting size as well. It showed off its battle-ready stance as it was now flying. "HONOR!!"
[22:56:20] <Angel_Mage321> "…?"
[22:56:39] <Azure> "Damn, who's gonna believe this?"
[22:57:10] * Inu888 looks dumbfounded at the transformation… Didn't look good but… ATTACK IS THE ONLY THING TO DO.
[22:57:24] <Angel_Mage321> "I know someone…" Angel's voice seems far away. Like the player wasn't exactly focused.
[22:57:27] * Inu888 chucks the two bananas in his hands at the Armour Boss
[22:57:54] <Inu888> 2d6+7 DOUBLE NANA ATTACK… THE SEQUEL.
[22:57:55] <+DiceMaid-9001> Inu888, DOUBLE NANA ATTACK… THE SEQUEL.: 11 [2d6=2,2]
[22:58:00] <@Giantree> haha oh man
[22:58:12] <@Giantree> I wish I could just have it static through that
[22:58:16] <@Giantree> but static would beat it I think
[22:58:20] <@Giantree> 2d6+8 feelsbadman.jpg
[22:58:21] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, feelsbadman.jpg: 18 [2d6=4,6]
[22:58:24] <@Giantree> 1d6
[22:58:25] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 1d6: 3 [1d6=3]
[22:58:31] <@Giantree> ow
[23:00:13] <@Giantree> alright, minihailey time, blast it into oblivion or something
[23:00:17] <Angel_Mage321> Hmmm…
[23:00:20] <@Giantree> by which I clearly mean 'heal your teammate'
[22:59:01] <@Giantree> Which… didn't land on floating-solid ground, actually, they fell down into nothing. Speaking of which, don'tlookdowndon'tlookdowndon'tlookdown…
[23:02:28] <Angel_Mage321> "Inu isn't looking too good…you think you can handle another round?"
[23:03:20] <Inu888> "Don't question my bananas."
[23:03:52] <Azure> "I'll hold up, do what you have to do."
[23:04:23] <Angel_Mage321> "okay. Thanks for understanding." Angel will float over to Inu "let's see what I can fix…"
[23:06:55] <@Giantree> "Ho… nor…" The creature held its lance to its chest, as some sort of energy source began flowing from everywhere— some kind of Spirit Bomb was building up in it. Instead of moving, it continued to charge, wings aflutter. Also, somebody was busy fldding trying to figure out how to fly by digging through the help files instead of attacking, what a surprise.
[23:11:59] <Angel_Mage321> "this is for you…gramma hailey…" The girl whispered as her angelic wings spread wide, staff in one hand, Cinder Orb in the other. It was as if she was part of this, the angel's power was her own power…maybe it truly was.
[23:12:36] <Angel_Mage321> 3d6+8
[23:12:37] <+DiceMaid-9001> Angel_Mage321, 3d6+8: 18 [3d6=4,5,1]
[23:12:59] <@Giantree> you're probably good
[23:13:01] <Inu888> Well, XXX got the fire weapon. It just given to someone else.
[23:13:02] <Angel_Mage321> 5/6 chance of outright beating it
[23:13:03] <@Giantree> but let's see
[23:13:06] <@Giantree> 2d6+8
[23:13:07] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, 2d6+8: 17 [2d6=6,3]
[23:13:10] <@Giantree> 1d6 eh
[23:13:11] <+DiceMaid-9001> Giantree, eh: 2 [1d6=2]
[23:13:16] <Angel_Mage321> …
[23:13:18] <Inu888> nope.jpg
[23:13:22] <@Giantree> well uh
[23:13:25] <@Giantree> what were you using?
[23:13:32] <Angel_Mage321> Magic?
[23:13:37] <@Giantree> oh yeah you're good then
[23:13:45] <@Giantree> it gets a -3

[23:16:42] <@Giantree> In what was an AWFULLY FAMILIAR scene, fire tore through the skies all around them as the knight's armor was shredded to pieces, voice barely making any noises anymore— only a few bits and pieces of it remained, and all of them remained converged as the energy continued making its way into the weapon. There was a huge buildup of energy, meaning there wasn't much time left.

[16:09:48] <@Giantree> Bzzt. Static. Or, some kind of new form of static, if anything— it was just the neural connection interface stimulating brainwaves for the game to begin, taking the form of an extremely uneventful loading screen. It definitely wasn't an uncommon thing these days, but something about it felt… fresh. Felt new. The way 'Magica Online' was advertised made it seem like something worthwhile.
[16:10:44] <@Giantree> Something that, quite possibly, could take out World of Warcraft in its thirtieth expansion pack… but, there was also a vague aura surrounding it. The manual left a lot of details out as well. The world becoming as a blank screen with an electronic body setting foot on it, Lyric Larsen, 16, entered the stage.
[16:14:19] <Lyric> Search left, right. The place looks relatively empty? Nothing terribly exciting, so far, but presumably something was about to happen. Hopefully not some boring tutorial that'd keep her out of the REAL exploration for even longer.
[16:15:45] <@Giantree> POOF. Suddenly, in the middle of the blackness - which remained as blackness - a mannequin the size of Lyric herself appeared, completely plain, as if staring her down. A voice emanated from behind it.. a snarky voice, to say the least, like an older woman. "Well, YOU sure seem awfully normal."
[16:17:31] <Lyric> Lyric stared the mannequin back down. Looked like it wasn't what was talking, though. "Is that unusual for this game?"
[16:18:26] <@Giantree> The source revealed itself, though it may not have been quite what was expected. Sitting on a rather comfortable-looking chair sized to seat its occupant was a person with fiery red hair, perhaps a foot tall if not less. She wore what was more or less a business suit, right down to the sharp-looking glasses. "Nope. Not a bit." She flew up from above the doll.
[16:19:15] <@Giantree> "That said, introductions, yadda yadda, welcome to Magica. Yaaay." Small fireworks erupted from behind her, almost as sarcastic as her own tone. "Name's Flamme, here's my card." She held out her hand… or no she didn't. "Actually, nevermind, let's get started."
[16:20:10] <Lyric> Lyric stared down at the sarcastic sprite, "So, you're the tutorial AI, or…?"
[16:21:02] <@Giantree> Standing up at the foot of the ridiculously comfortable-looking black chair - which blended in sort of well with the background, unfortunately, 'Flamme' raised some hands around to bring up some consoles. With a glare she looked down at the girl. "Yeah, somethin' like that. Hold your horses for a minute." Blip. Blip. Boop. "Okay… I'm gonna assume you at least read the manual?"
[16:21:44] <@Giantree> A spin, she sat back down. Her fairy-esque wings, which probably weren't even a surprise at this point, rested themselves extremely uncomfortably against the back of the seat.
[16:23:51] <Lyric> This Flamme… girl seemed to be one of the less friendly AI out there. Then again, was she AI, or did they have a staffmember playing her? Hard to say, but Lyric wasn't sure whether to take the sarcasm at face value, or assume she'd taken the wrong step somewhere. Whatever, she'd deal with it and get this over. "Yep, went through the manual. It was sparing on details, to say the least."
[16:25:01] <Lyric> +with
[16:25:30] <@Giantree> Hand resting on her chin, she yawned along the explanation. "Yeah, we get that a lot. I just don't wanna be assed to play that godawful introduction video again." Raising her left hand, a bunch of consoles popped up once more, and with some button presses some holographic images of the game's five races appeared, surrounding the mannequin.
[16:26:41] <@Giantree> "You look like you know what you're doing on these things. In this humble little game of ours, we've got these five races: The Origins, the Dim-" Cough, a cough of distaste. "-Inutives, the Resonants, the Sentients, and the Ferals. Each one have different capabilities and such— most people go with the Origins, because they're the closest to what they're used to."
[16:27:18] <@Giantree> The holographic images turned to face Lyric's direction, moving side-to-side like on a conveyor belt. "Any idea what you want here, or…?"
[16:28:04] <Lyric> "Believe me, I don't want you to, either. Oh, yeah, the races. Definitely want Resonant, looks like the easiest one to personalize."
[16:29:55] <@Giantree> "Easiest? … Heh. Whatever you say, kid." With a slide of her hand across the console, the mannequin in between them became dressed just like Lyric herself, down to every feature— except for her eyes, which stared in an unsettlingly blank way. Even more unsettling, though, was the… atmosphere. It felt like something was coming from the doll.
[16:30:40] <@Giantree> "In this place we have 'elements,' which are… well, I don't need to explain that to everyone. Just got through dealing with a bunch of toddlers whose parents APPARENTLY thought this was perfect for them. Ugh. Headache."
[16:31:51] <@Giantree> A shake of her own head, aching though it probably was. "Alright, upon being born here, you get to pick out some kind of power that you can do— anything you want, as long as I okay it. And as for that element, you get to decide what you start out with and then the world'll kinda mold itself around. Sound good?"
[16:33:37] <Lyric> That doll was awfully weird, Lyric put a hand out to poke it, "Easiest wasn't the right word, to the greatest extent, rather, but that's not important. Element-wise, I want something with space as a theme, Star? What about Astral? For a power… I want something to help me get around and explore; some kind of teleportation, maybe. Say, travelling through subspace?"
[16:35:36] <@Giantree> "Huh… warping. Yeah, I don't see how that'd be a huge deal. I'll hand you something with the specifics defined when you get outta here, no prob. For starting out I guess it could help you get past nasty mobs and stuff." A shrug. "And Astral… we've got a category for that. Space, Time, Stars, whatever— you might end up getting mixed around with those sometimes."
[16:36:24] <@Giantree> She was typing at a keyboard-console that popped up in front of her now, still spinning around in the chair. With a quick 'oh, right,' she stopped and pointed to the doll. "You can mess around with that however you want, by the way. Just put some thought into it and the details'll change around."
[16:37:18] <@Giantree> Takkatakkatakka… well, not really, it was all beeps and boops. Blips? Blips. Holographic keyboards aren't known for making a lot of sound, and this one in particular was a bright red, in contrast to the deep shade of the color her hair was.
[16:51:27] <Lyric> Okay, astral and subspace would work. Those would be pretty exciting. Onto the doll; her avatar? Yeah. This wouldn't do as it was. Space warped around the doll as if a black hole distorted it; a mess of lights and colors. When it returned to normalcy within space, the appearance was rather different. The doll's dark brown hair was much less eyecatching than Lyric's blonde, but that was an insignificant change compared to
[16:52:49] <Lyric> compared to the rest. First, the doll appeared about 2 years younger. Maybe with a younger avatar it'd be easier to capture a sense of adventure from the game. Next, their outfit didn't match, no matter what Lyric was wearing. After all, the doll had on a black dress with glowing stars all throughout. Lyric liked that design; so much so that the doll's eyes matched the dress rather than Lyric's own grey eyes.
[16:54:46] <@Giantree> Beep boop BLIP. Flamme sat in her swirly-chair with no consoles around her anymore, minimizing all of them. Rotating around the doll, she nodded a couple times and took her usual position. "Yeah, that's cute, I like that. Eyes match the dress. That's some fashion sense there. Alright, now…" With a bit more typing, another console was tossed through the air at Lyric's direction…
[16:55:57] <@Giantree> … Enlarging to fit the girl's 'electronic body's' size as it did so. It appeared as a holofile detailing the three attributes with descriptions of them and fancy pictures, with a slider displaying a number next to each one. From 300 to 900, obviously by the hundreds. "Here, flip these around for me too. Almost finished."
[16:56:29] <Lyric> Compliment, huh? Looks like the sarcasm was just Flamme's personality, not some kind of grudge. "So, these are basically my stats?"
[16:57:22] <@Giantree> "You got it. The triangle's described on there, and each one does a different thing. Gray's for magicians, White's for lovers, Black for haters. Sum it up enough for you?"
[16:59:37] <Lyric> White, gray, and black. Okay, first priority, Lyric wanted gray, magic would do better good than love or hatred for an adventurer, right? Besides, matched her real eyes. Set that to 900. With 900 left, she had to split it up. 500/400? No, she put white at 600 and black at 300. After all, you shouldn't get mad at video games.
[17:01:19] <@Giantree> With a flight, Flamme checked it over. With what was intended to be a nodding exchange, she'd take the file and shrink it back, sending it away whenever Lyric was finished with it. "MAN, I can't tell you how many headaches you've saved knowing your shit like this. Can't wait to get a break early." Spin back to her spot in the air. "Alright, one last thing we gotta do here… well, two."
[17:02:25] <Lyric> "Well, I can't speak for the rest of the world, but I like to actually PLAY games, and knowing how helps."
[17:02:47] <@Giantree> "Games are games. So, in things like these we all got weapons. Tough luck, it's the way the world works. Sorry." With a shrug, some more menus were brought up and a blank orb - a gray one - appeared before Azure's pseudo-astral body. "So, think around with that thing, and form it into something you'd actually wanna hit stuff with. I'll mess around with stats."
[17:07:04] <Lyric> Hit stuff? That didn't seem quite right for what she wanted. The orb changed into a gun. No, way too cliche. Next came a ball of light: a star. Closer, but not quite right. Attacking with stars seemed pretty cool, but not quite in that form. Better idea, a gauntlet. "Would it be possible to throw… 'stars' with this thing?"
[17:09:19] <@Giantree> A bit of a pout, Flamme's mouth slanted. "That… is gonna be really weird. See, there're these things called 'Affinities,' and if you have a… uh, punchy weapon like that one in ADDITION to the ability to throw stuff, well, the Style's gonna get split half-and-half. And being a Resonant, that's gonna be halved twice. If you can deal with that though… sure, sounds cute."
[17:10:39] <@Giantree> A lot of typing ahead later, she spun around while staring at the floating weapon. "Tell ya what, if I give that thing the ability to do some crowd control a little easier, will the drawback not be a big deal? Seems like something it'd be able to do."
[17:10:58] <Lyric> "What if I don't need to punch stuff? Melee never suited me too well; say the gauntlet's just to create and control the stars, would that work?"
[17:13:18] <@Giantree> Flamme crossed her legs. "… Hmm. Tell you what, sure, I'm in a good mood today. How about, you just set that as part of your costume, and have the stars…" She held up a disc bigger than her head and flew forward, placing it inside the gauntlet like a compact disc, "… come out THIS way. The arm'll feel a little clunky for a while, but it might even look cool."
[17:13:56] <@Giantree> "That way, you can use it to hold things AND toss whatever the hell, like magic stars n' stuff. Sound good?" There was still a hint of impatience in her voice.
[17:16:01] <Lyric> Whoa, that's cool. And versatile, versatility was important to Lyric; being able to solo when needed is a necessity. "That's perfect, and that crowd control ability sounds like it'd suit me perfectly. Don't like having to rely on others against mobs and swarms. Nice for self-reliance."
[17:18:33] <@Giantree> "One a' THOSE players, huh? Well… yeah, that works pretty nicely. Have fun and stuff." With a bit more typing to finish things off, everything that had been scrolling around stopped. The gauntlet placed itself onto the doll's arm and to Lyric, if anything, it felt like it was beckoning. "If there's anything else you need, better ask it now, I'm gonna go have a sm- I mean, am leaving."
[17:19:06] <@Giantree> "But if not, hop in that thing. Try not to get lost, I'm sick of cleaning up after you new kids and your sorry asses."
[17:19:24] <Lyric> "Hop… in?"
[17:19:58] <@Giantree> Nod. The doll raised her arms, and Lyric's own… immaterialness made itself pretty apparent. It was essentially an act like possessing, but truth be told, there weren't many games that did it that way.
[17:21:19] <Lyric> That was weird and kind of awkward, but Lyric took a step into the doll, eyes closed. "Did I do it right?"
[17:22:41] <@Giantree> She would find herself asking nobody… or perhaps somebody she didn't know. The blackness faded, leaving Lyric Larsen - or perhaps somebody else - standing before one last screen. A much less welcoming one than the sarcastic fairy with a big virtual keyboard sticking out. "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME:"
[17:24:47] <Lyric> Enter your name? Real one or name in the game? Then again, if they needed your real name, wouldn't they get it from your head? On the keyboard, Lyric typed out "Azure", a pretty name from her favorite color. Hopefully the game was new enough it wouldn't be taken.
[17:25:50] <@Giantree> Much like technology from decades earlier, the screen changed to a "PLEASE WAIT…" as the keyboard disappeared. The screen then disappeared. Everything disappeared. Even her consciousness.
[17:26:08] <@Giantree> And it wasn't until a brief time later, but the newly created 'Azure' would find her eyes opening to a completely new world…
—-
[17:47:02] <@Giantree> Bzzt. Static. MMOs tend to do that in 2066.. well, for the past 30 or so years they have. Maybe more? Who knew, but it was even more surprising that such a hobby was still a popular one after so much time. That said, an excited new player slipped on the goggles and neural senses began connecting… only for the player to be found in a sea of blackness.
[17:47:36] <@Giantree> Player? Possibly not yet. But everything felt real, felt there… it just didn't look like anything. Richard Winston, 18, entered the stage.
[17:47:56] <Firespitter> "Huh, I was expecting a bit more." The teenager says unamused.
[17:49:19] <@Giantree> "What a coincidence." With a POOF, a mannequin appeared in front of said teenager's eyes, only… it was a rather effeminate one. A cute and petite one, actually, but that's an opinion thing. More importantly was that the voice came from above, not below. "I kinda was too."
[17:50:59] <Firespitter> "Did they hire actors to make fun or the players or did a computer pass a turin test in the most unexpected way." He says sarcastically.
[17:52:29] <@Giantree> And she descended— a redheaded fairy-esque creature dressed in a business suit, seated in a fancy black chair. "Ohh, you're gonna find THAT out soon. I can tell already…" She flew around his head. Buzzed, even. "… That you're gonna be a fun one. Hoo boy." She cleared her throat, with sarcasm abound in her voice. As always.
[17:53:18] <@Giantree> "So, you one of those creepers who's into this stuff or just trying to 'play the game and have fun' like they all say?" Of course, one thing about the character restriction was oh-so-conveniently left out of the manual, but apparently nobody told her about that.
[17:55:25] <Firespitter> "Hey, I've been looking for an MMO that has a refreshing twist to it. Pretty much unlimited character customizations seems the way to go."
[17:57:06] <@Giantree> "Unlim-" a smirk crossed her face, an unbelievably huge one. Some could even say the smirk was bigger than the face itself. "Oh ho ho ho… can it be that you REALLY don't know? Okay, lean over here a sec," She flew to the mannequin's level— flew, as in, jumped out of the chair and used her wings to do it, actually. With a point to the doll she went on, "Look at this cutie here."
[17:57:14] <@Giantree> "Who do you think this is? Any guesses?"
[17:57:42] <Firespitter> "An NPC template?"
[17:59:18] <Firespitter> "So, can we get started with character creation?"
[17:59:33] <@Giantree> "… Hahaha." She flew back to the chair, giggling. Upon reaching it, she cracked up. "Haaaahahaha, oh man! Things like this are why I LOVE this job." Taking a second, she calmed herself down. "Okay, no, there's one thing about this game… see, the story behind it is based off some old times." Images started appearing in the background, of queens and princesses.
[18:00:30] * Firespitter looks at the images "…and the knights rescuing them, right?"
[18:01:00] <@Giantree> "Back when people believed in witchcraft, thought women were all powerful… and, uh." Cough. Cough cough COUGH… "don't tell anyone, but we kinda ran short on resources halfway through development," COUGH COUGH cough. "… That's your character. Take a good look into her eyes because you're probably gonna be seeing 'em reflected a lot."
[18:02:41] <Firespitter> The boy is quiet for several seconds,"You're kidding, right? That means I'm gonna have to play a girl? Thats a bullshit excuse and you know it, male character models shouldn't take that much to make."
[18:04:51] * Firespitter isn't really angry but more dissapointed.
[18:04:52] <@Giantree> "… Yeah, I didn't think so either. We've had a lot of quitters because of that, I guess some people don't have the security to pull it off." She shrugged. "So… take another look here." She was trying really, REALLY hard to hold back giggling. "Don't you think she's cute? Adorable? Don't you wanna run around as that?"
[18:06:22] <@Giantree> "… Well, a better way to put it, you could probably hide things if you tried. Go a bit androgynous. That seems to be the popular way to pull things off as far as the whiners have been concerned." She phased a keyboard and typed a bit, though there were hardly any noticeable changes to the mannequin. "Oh by the way, name's Flamme. Pleasure."
[18:06:56] <Firespitter> The boy sighs loudly, "I can see how they quit, did you taunt everyone that way? But you're not gonna push me again I paid for 6 months of this game so I might as well get over with it."
[18:08:10] <Firespitter> "Hmmm, first off I think I'm gonna start with the race, resonant looked interesting in the manual."
[18:10:10] <@Giantree> "Alright then, aaand… clicky." With a button-press, the OH-SO-ADORABLE little girl, who actually looked about 13 or 14 as she was, took on an appearance with some color and slight feature similarities to the teenager himself, but… well, was a lot cuter. At least, his brainwaves were stimulated and something was automatically chosen that he'd have some affinity for.
[18:11:06] <@Giantree> And, wearing some kind of silly doll dress, the mannequin stood up and stared at him lovingly with almost empty eyes… eerily, at that. Flamme coughed. "O… kay, you should probably play dressup a bit. I hope that's your thing. Just think about it and some things'll change around, then we can go on."
[18:15:09] <Firespitter> "Alright, lets see how well this works." The mannequins short hair gradually changes shade before staying in a sky-blue color, same with her eyes. Then the clothing started changing to and from several other RPGesque costumes, did he want a spellcaster or a fighter, whichever one it was he wasn't really sure.
[18:16:15] <@Giantree> Flamme spent the time noting and typing things, without a break. Of course she let out some sarcastic and snarky interjections during the design process.
[18:20:18] <Firespitter> Eventually the costumes started changing slower drifting more into something you would find a ranger from some of the older RPGs wearing. Eventually it stopped into some sort one-piece surfer's swimsuit with the stomach exposed except it was made out from what looked to be boiled leather and having a few feather decorations here and there.
[18:20:42] <Firespitter> To finished it off he died it in severral shades varying from dark blue to white.
[18:22:09] <Firespitter> "I guess this is it, I'm thinking of making a mostly ice resonant so this should fit the bill."
[18:22:29] <@Giantree> Flamme raised an eyebrow off to the side. "So, you're into THAT, eh?" At least she was courteous enough to keep it as a whisper… or something close to it. She'd cut herself off by feigning a different personality for a while. "Alright, that's really cute, we got a fashion master over here." … Nope, nevermind that idea. At least she tried.
[18:23:19] <Firespitter> "Next time we meet, remind me to run a spear through you."
[18:24:49] <@Giantree> "Can do~!" Flamme's sarcasm reached legendary levels. The huge grin never left her face. "Well, I'm glad you're having as much fun as I probably am… lessee, I'll remember ice for later on. Okay, we got all that figured out, here's the fun p- wait nope, we just got past the fun part." A sigh. She began typing once again, and tossed a big file in the teenager's direction.
[18:26:18] * Firespitter grabs it and starts reading it. "So when do we start making my starting weapon and abilities?
[18:26:21] <@Giantree> The file, of course, would enlarge to fit his hands and display all the attributes alongside descriptions of them. "Okay, I'm a bit lazy on order here, let's just get this stuff outta the way. These things are your stats, what you're gonna be doin' stuff with. Gray for wizards, Black for haters, White lovers, et cetera. You get eighteen points, fill 'em out however you want."
[18:27:02] <@Giantree> It had sliders on it— Flamme brushed her hand at him. "Gettin' there! I think I'll go off for a drink while you do that part, actually. G'luck." She disappeared.
[18:30:24] * Firespitter looks at the sliders and after several seconds of fiddling around he finds a combination he likes, and then presses the 'ok' button at the bottom right part of the file
[18:31:26] <Firespitter> The boy*
[18:31:33] <@Giantree> With the sound of a swishing glass, and… uh, well, the appearance of a blatantly alcoholic beverage sized for the Sprite in her hands, Flamme and her chair made their way back into the room. "Awright! Sure looks like that's out of the way… now for what you were waitin' for."
[18:32:31] * Firespitter cracks his fingers, not like it has any actual physical effect in this world.
[18:34:56] <@Giantree> Flamme closed her eyes, breathing a sigh. "Okay, focus a bit. I'm guessing you want ice as your element, we'll figure out power in just a miiii~nute…" She'd already slurped the drink. Hoo boy. "Since you know how weapons work in these things I don't have to tell you a whole lot. Just think of what you want, how you wanna use it, whatever."
[18:38:07] <Firespitter> After a bit of thinking a spear longer then the character is tall appears in its hands, a cool blue flame emmanating from its head.
[18:38:27] <Firespitter> "I said I was going to run a spear through you and I intend to fulfill that promise."
[18:38:29] <@Giantree> "Damn, you weren't kiddin'. Careful with that thing!"
[18:39:36] <Firespitter> "You''re the one who should be careful."
[18:39:50] <@Giantree> Flamme shrugged in her chair, glass disappearing. "Yeah, rules say I can't blow you up here. Sucks. Gimme a call later, 'kay?" A clearing of her throat. "… Alright, I'm sure you know how magic powers work, go ahead and hit me up an idea here. Something you think would be cool to use, whatever, I'll okay it…" A glare. "… Maybe."
[18:42:17] <Firespitter> "hmm, I like exploring virtual worlds, so how about having the ability to summon something to ride on? I dunno, something like a giant ice wolf?"
[18:44:12] <@Giantree> Another eyebrow-raise. "… Giant, huh? Well, I guess 'power to summon something' isn't really unheard of. That sounds like a pretty cool," muffled giggle, "idea. Let's see here…" A bit of typing here and there, and what manifested in front of the mannequin was a ferocious-looking wolf with a blue fur coat… okay, just kidding, but it definitely had some such aspects.
[18:44:34] <@Giantree> What was standing there was essentially a puppy, wagging his tail at all three of them. He let out an extremely cute bark.
[18:45:11] <@Giantree> Flamme shrugged. "I don't run a charity here… if you feed the little guy, I bet he'll grow. Think you can handle that much?"
[18:45:34] <Firespitter> Richard looks unamused. "How long?" he asks
[18:47:09] <@Giantree> Shrug 2.0. "Who knows? It probably won't be a really long time or anything but…" She had to hold back a laugh again. "Just look at him! He likes you, can you really say no to that?"
[18:47:50] <Firespitter> "Okay okay! I'll take him. He might be useful later on at least."
[18:48:08] <@Giantree> "Wanna give him a name?"
[18:49:25] <Firespitter> "Something simple…Ice, yes, I know I'm going all out on the ice theme, shut up."
[18:51:37] <@Giantree> "Heh. Alright then! Good to know you two are having so much fun together." With a bit of typing, she wiped up the consoles which disappeared with a blip. "But… y'know, he doesn't like ghosts all that much. Why don't you hop in and get started? Enjoy your wonderful adventure in Magica Online, blah blah blah."
[18:52:50] <Firespitter> Now this part was in the manual, he walks into the mannequin, feeling a constraining feeling as he feels his shape become smaller.
[18:53:37] <@Giantree> Chair pulling back into darkness, Flamme smiled. "Well THAT part was a lot easier than most. Hot damn I've got a migraine…"
[18:54:11] <@Giantree> What appeared to the oh-so-cute little girl through the teenager's eyes, however, was a big screen with a boring messages. "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME:"
[18:55:44] <Firespitter> The boy groans loudly, 'thats so lame' he thinks
[18:56:06] <Firespitter> but then types StayFrosty into the the space.
[18:57:40] <@Giantree> The blue screen stayed awfully frosty, considering it disappeared with an extremely brief "PLEASE WAIT…" sequence. The background began to morph a bit.
[18:59:08] <@Giantree> And with a 'blip,' the screen disappeared… included was a bark, at that. And another bark. As the teenager felt his consciousness slipping, it was aided by the canine sounds of whining and barking. And 'her' eyes began to open, oh so slowly, to a very different world, Ice at her side…
—-
[19:37:44] <@Giantree> Bzzt. Static… a lot of static. Electronics tend to work that way, and their user knew it— the VR goggles slipped on, everything became as a void leading into nothingness. Or perhaps into… okay that's enough theatrics, the staticing finished and placed another brave soul into an empty black room. Everything was nondescript, for lack of a better explanation. But what it was was clear.
[19:38:44] <@Giantree> It felt like rippling waves, but at the same time like solid ground. Margaret Pelbot, 17, had entered the stage.
[19:39:55] <Charm> "…Hello? Anyone there?" Despite being 17 years old, the girl had no real experience with these kinds of games. Would make for a good control group, as she put it when explaining to her professors.
[19:41:08] <@Giantree> "Ready and waiting," responded an extremely bored-sounding voice from… well, if anything it seemed like it was coming from above her. That was offset by the POOFing noise and the appearance of a mannequin the size of the newcomer herself, which stared straight into her eyes. It looked awfully nondescript, perhaps moreso than the room.
[19:42:08] <Charm> "umm…hmm" the mannequin looks pretty odd. Especially to be speaking to her. "umm…hello. Who are you?"
[19:42:51] <@Giantree> From the sky floated a woman with deep red hair pulled back in a ponytail and fairy-esque wings… by the way, she was a foot tall too. "YOU must be new here. Welcome to Magica, et cetera et cetera et cetera." Spinning in the black chair she rode, she adjusted her glasses and stared in the girl's face as she spoke to the doll. "You… really don't know what you're doing, do you?"
[19:43:36] <Charm> "not a clue. But 'et cetera et cetera'? Seems…a bit harsh."
[19:45:09] <@Giantree> She plastered her entire palm on her forehead. "… Hoo boy. I don't think you even KNOW harsh yet." Dragging some consoles, she typed a few things and blipped them off. "Alright, name's Flamme, pleasure. Yeah, I know you're excited to be babysitted too. SO!" She flew off a few feet into the sky, looking down at the mannequin. "What exactly DO you know about this game?"
[19:45:10] <Charm> "I…I guess you could say I lived a sheltered childhood or something. So what's all this about?"
[19:46:35] <Charm> "well…I know it's a mmorpg…and magic is the main theme. And…" She paused. This seemed a bit…non-VR like. Was it supposed to be like this? "…I think that's about it."
[19:48:19] <@Giantree> "Uh… huh." She began typing, mumbling to herself. 'Wackjob tally: 7 today. Lucky seven. Migraines: 15. Bordering on record.' With a loud clearing of her throat, the fairy-creature known as Flamme typed a bit more and feminine images of all sorts of different people appeared, scrolling as though on a conveyor belt. "You seem to have the gist. Let's… okay, I'll explain."
[19:49:59] <@Giantree> "You use magic, definitely. And, well, uh, the character creation options are kinda limited, we'll… hope we don't have to bother about that part here. You have these five faces…" As each image scrolled past, there was a lengthy description of their characteristics and features. Flamme more or less followed along detailing their names in.. much less detail.
[19:52:04] <Charm> "hmm…if you need a break…I assume you are an actual person behind there. Can't you call someone in if you needed it?" A sigh. Well, she didn't know much about these things. So she will pick the most normal, human face.
[19:52:33] <@Giantree> "… Er, races. How did I not catch that?" She typed up another mental note: 'wackjobs are rubbing off, seek therapy.' Flying over to the one on the far left, she pointed to it. "These are the Origins, and pretty much all they are are, well, humans. Nothing special. People who're looking for the easy route-" THAT was a bit late, considering the word 'easy' was the trigger. Okay.
[19:53:36] <Charm> "I…let's stick to the basics, I suppose."
[19:55:01] <@Giantree> A shrug. "Can't have everyone playing catgirls and robots, I guess The next thing we're gonna do it… eh, the fun part. Magic powers." The images disappeared and with yet another POOF the mannequin was dressed like Margaret herself— in fact, it looked almost identical. "There aren't really limits on this one, so I'll ask you the way I ask kids: What's something you've always wanted to do?"
[19:56:51] <Charm> "I…" that was a damn good question. And she really hadn't planned on being told to specialize. "umm…gimme a minute…it's not an easy choice."
[19:58:55] <Charm> "it's just…when I thought of 'magic' I thought more like doing whatever you wanted. Not locking yourself into doing onething over and over again…"
[19:58:59] <@Giantree> "No rush. It can be a bunch of different things… teleportation, invisibility, walking through walls, power to turn people into cake— okay, I think the last one would need a bit of toning down. Then again, -I- wouldn't mind having that one." She leaned back, licking her lips. "If that doesn't work out, you can always dress that thing up."
[19:59:39] <@Giantree> A shrug. "Who's to say you can't? I like people with imagination, you can probably think of a way to make a power wide. Reading minds? Flying?"
[20:00:35] <Charm> "oh okay…I may have been a bit confused. But…" hmm…
[20:01:28] <@Giantree> She shook her head. "Yeah, yeah, they all get it. Settle down, toots. If you just think about it, that… doll over there can be wearing some cute outfits, even look totally different from you. That's gonna be your character, by the by."
[20:01:31] <Charm> "Invisibility would be cool I guess…but teleportation might not be bad either…"
[20:02:25] <Charm> "oh…okay, I'll have to change that. And teleportation I guess will work."
[20:03:16] <Charm> "but…how do I change the outfit?"
[20:04:33] <@Giantree> She started to type with a shrug. "Popular one today. I'll have to get some more details in a minute." But… given the next question, she let out a deep sigh and flew to the mannequin. "Think about it. Just imagine something on there. Like… this!" With a POOF, the mannequin of herself the girl stared at was wearing an AWFULLY not-modest string bikini. It looked awkward on her.
[20:05:05] <Charm> "oh…I…I think I'll pick something…a bit different."
[20:05:57] <Charm> The girl scrunched her eyes tight, trying to lock in exactly what she wants the mannequin to look like.
[20:06:55] <@Giantree> Flamme flew back up with a groan. A groan and a mumble, "they just don't make 'em as fun anymore." A sigh could come too. That said, she watched the things that were happening and began typing down a record of all of them. A bit more silently, and plenty more annoyed.
[20:09:30] <Charm> "what's that supposed to mean?" Margaret was done redressing the mannequin - it had long blonde hair and a pale golden top, a knee-length skirt and black boots. But the mannequin also had a pair of glasses, something Margaret herself lacked.
[20:11:11] <@Giantree> Flamme let off a wicked grin. "Oh, nothing~" … She'd have to be more careful, despite the size and distance advantage. This girl could HEAR. Spinning around and typing, she looked the costume and its glasses. "… Oh, I see, you're trying to be cute like me. That's all fine and dandy, I get a bunch of admirers like that. Imitation, flattery, et cetera."
[20:11:52] <Charm> "I…that wasn't the point at all. So what's next?"
[20:13:09] <@Giantree> Cough. "That power of yours… uh, any specifics on it? The ability to teleport your hands away from your body or something? Or just straight-up warping? I gotta be specific when I write this shit up otherwise I end up with half-people stuck in walls; the cleanup crew isn't so friendly."
[20:14:27] <Charm> "oh…" there was more than one kind of teleporting? "straight up warping. My entire body from one place to another - as well as anything I'm wearing or carrying."
[20:15:45] <@Giantree> Shrug. "No fun. Alright, the specifics make it not very dangerous, I'll just have to trust that you won't go around telefragging or killing yourself with it." Type type type. "Next is… oh boy."
[20:16:05] <Charm> "…that doesn't sound good…"
[20:16:54] <@Giantree> A holographic file Flamme's size was brought up and tossed into the air, over the mannequin and into the girl's face. Well, hopefully her arms, but Flamme had lost all hope in that already. As it was tossed it grew in size; what was on it was a bunch of sliders next to descriptions of three different attributes with fancy pictures on them. "Those are your stats."
[20:17:21] <Charm> "I…huh?"
[20:17:48] <@Giantree> "There's a way I've gotten used to saying it: White's for lovers, Black's for haters, Gray's for weirdos. You have to have SOME of all of 'em, but pick whichever one you like the most first and set the others lower." Her palm was SO close to her face right now… but it held still by being occupied by typing. Just barely.
[20:18:57] <Charm> "oh…" Maragret looked at it strangely. But…she thought she could figure this much out on her own.
[20:19:39] <Charm> "umm…okay, I think I have it." Maragaret didn't know how to toss it back, so she just left it there.
[20:21:36] <@Giantree> The pissed-off sprite raised an eyebrow then sighed, leaping out of her seat to fetch the file. It shrunk back down to her size as she made her way back to the chair with it and began reading it over, with a nod and another nod. "Well… I guess OTHER people won't think you're a weirdo. Guess you'll just figure it out as it goes along. Now…"
[20:22:12] <@Giantree> Flamme sat in her chair, not even rotating, as she took a minute to determine how she was going to phrase the next question. "You… know what this game's about, right?"
[20:23:41] <Charm> "umm…I'm pretty sure. But humor me. It would be embarrassing to think I knew what was going on only to trade away the mystical Whatzits of Razzmatazz that is worth a hundred million bucks"
[20:25:57] <@Giantree> "Close! That's in the next kingdom over." … Of course she wouldn't get the joke. Okay, moving on. "It's all about combat. Fighting. Close competition. Ass-kicking. I dunno if you thought you were just gonna be here on a field trip or something, but in order to survive out there you're gonna need a weapon."
[20:26:56] <Charm> "I figured that much, at least…it wouldn't be much fun if people just wandered around with nothing to do, I suppose."
[20:27:22] <Charm> "what do you guys call that again? Playgrounding?"
[20:27:31] <@Giantree> "Good, that's a lot less of an explanation I'll need to do." Raising her right hand, a black metallic-looking glove appeared on it. "Not sure if I can trust you to think of something to defend yourself with, but uh… try? For me? Please?" The glove disappeared. "Just think of something, anything, and you can use it."
[20:28:15] <@Giantree> "Sandboxing. Whip me up a big juicy warhammer or something so I can have an opinion of you before we say our goodbyes."
[20:29:54] <Charm> "oh…okay…" a warhammer? Seriously? Does she look like a bodybuilder? Okay…focus…something she can actually carry…something that relies less on strength and more on technical finesse…
[20:31:09] <Charm> More static. But this was different. In the mannequin's hand was a slim sword, blue arcs of electricity jumping around the thin blade.
[20:32:33] <Charm> "does that work?"
[20:33:13] <@Giantree> She crossed her arms with a nod. ".. Well, I'm sure that wouldn't feel too great to get hit with. Good enough. I'm, uh, gonna tell you to check the manual sometime soon, look up the section on 'Affinities.' There's no WAY I can get the explanation done here without wasting 3 hours."
[20:33:37] <Charm> "I'm a quick study…"
[20:34:29] <Charm> "affinity means…a kind of closeness with something, a bond, right?"
[20:35:19] <@Giantree> Flamme adjusted her glasses. "… Really. I'll just give you the short of it, you can learn stuff by hitting things with that in ways. It's more or less something like that, but in the mechanics here it means the way you fight things decides the kinds of things you can do in the future. Make any sense?"
[20:35:59] <Charm> "so the more I use it, the better I get with it. Something along those lines?"
[20:36:57] <@Giantree> A grin. "Hmm… maybe I was wrong. Well!" A glance around at the area, and a bunch of blips of files closing. "That's all I can do here. Step inside that thing," a point at the mannequin, "like the ghost you are right now and good luck out there. You're gonna need it."
[20:39:12] <Charm> "I…thanks I guess." It was really strange. Walking into something. But what choice would she have? Margaret took one last deep breath, before stepping into where the thing was.
[20:41:13] <@Giantree> She probably heard Flamme talking about her migraines and complaining how she was gonna take a nap… little did the latter know she forgot to leave the room ingame when doing so. Whoop. Fortunately it only lasted a few seconds until the player herself found herself standing before a large screen with a holographic keyboard next to it. "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME:"
[20:43:06] <Charm> "a name…" That was something she hadn't considered.
[20:46:30] <Charm> Well…she couldn't use her own name…but she needed something simple. Fingers started typing, until the name "DocMP7" was showing. She was about to enter it in…but paused. Something seemed off.
[20:48:16] <Charm> No…that wasn't right. Backspace it all away. Type in something that sounded less like an idiot. She wanted to make it look like she knew what she was doing.
[20:49:28] <Charm> "hmm…this is hard…"
[20:55:37] <Charm> A simple name. Something that wasn't too outlandish. "Erina…it has a nice ring to it…" typing it in, Margaret pushes the button to proceed
[20:59:11] <@Giantree> "PLEASE WAIT…" Apparently nobody had thought of such an idea before, considering how just a few seconds later the window shut itself off and the background began blurring itself, morphing from black into… something else. 'Erina' opened her newly created eyes soon after to see a completely different world…
[19:41:36] <@Flamme> Bzzt. A sea of static spread forth. The world distorted itself into… well, the world was distorted into a sea of static, that had already been gone over. Not uncommon for technology, but it was still a bit of a pain to deal with. Loud, ugly, that sort of thing. It only lasted a second for the goggle-wearer, though, who quickly found herself deposited into an empty, black room.
[19:42:05] <@Flamme> With a POOF, a mannequin followed the newcomer inside, rising up from the ground. Faith Marice Dougle, 19, entered the stage… again.
[19:42:52] <Faith_Dougle> "Hope Janette picked something good…"
[19:44:10] <@Flamme> Bzzz. The sound of something levitating. And something definitely did levitate, providing the scene with an older-looking woman who was about a foot tall, riding in a black chair that blended into the background. There was a look on her face… hard to describe it. "Well, huh. YOU sure look like someone with a story."
[19:45:21] <Faith_Dougle> A fairy? Well. It looked cute, anyways. "What? Why? Also, where's the title screen?"
[19:46:43] <@Flamme> "… Eh." With a snap of her fingers, big explosions of fireworks and 'MAGICA' in huge lettering appeared behind her, along with several images of powerful-looking little girls shooting lasers at monsters. Some of them shot lasers at each other. After a big scene of them doing cool things, one of them with pigtails and a white jacket bowed and disappeared.
[19:47:06] <@Flamme> The fairy cleared her throat. "Yeah, welcome to Magica. Woohoo." More fireworks from behind her, with the same level of excitement as her voice: none.
[19:48:39] <@Flamme> She drifted lazily in her chair as the mannequin turned toward the players, staring with blank eyes. Unfortunately it didn't have any features. The redheaded Sprite-creature looked some things over and went on. "Yeah, anyway, name's Flamme, super excited to meet you and everything. Ready to get started?"
[19:49:00] <Faith_Dougle> "Sure thing, Pixy." About damn time.
[19:50:18] <@Flamme> A glare. "Yeah, no, we're not gonna have that. Flamme, right it down— rhymes with 'Ham,' none of that 'Flah-may' stuff. Gives me shivers. Okay." The fancy chair flew around the two of them. "You look like you're probably someone with one hell of a fashion sense, so first things first, do some imagination here and put some clothes on that doll. Hair, eyes, whatever. Piercings? Sure."
[19:51:20] <Faith_Dougle> "And after I do all that are you going to just drop me into the game world with a generic dagger at level 1?" Like all MMOs she's played before.
[19:52:30] <@Flamme> She shrugged. "Honestly? If you have the imagination of a toddler, that can totally happen. I had a few… uh, actual toddlers do that earlier today. Not gonna go there. You can have a god-slaying chainsaw-broadsword of awesomeness to start out with if you play your cards right. Gotta start off simple though, if you walk out there looking like a naked doll you're gonna get stares."
[19:57:12] * Faith_Dougle begins tinkering with the avatar, plopping clothes around… She decides on thigh-high boots, a twintailed skirt (with shorts underneath), a white leather vest and a short-sleeved skirt… All of it in alternating black and white scheme ala Harley Quinn. To top it all off, a grey hat with a red feather coming out of it.
[19:58:43] * Faith_Dougle edits the above "short-sleeved skirt" to "short-sleeved shirt" as to avoid any in-game Aya-style mishaps, it wouldn't look good if word got out
[19:59:47] <Faith_Dougle> "Hey, Flamme. Can I make a second character?"
[19:59:58] <@Flamme> Flamme looked it over, nodding, with a legitimately impressed look for once. "Not too shabby. But white, black, grey… are you, uh, SURE you haven't played this before?" With some consoles brought up she typed, but eventually shrugged it off and brought up another one, tossing it through the air. "Alright, in that case, we'll go straight to this-"
[20:01:07] <@Flamme> Even when she cut off the file didn't stop enlarging as it sailed through the sky. Of course, it was a display of the three stats with sliders next to them and explanations. She stopped and stared for a second after throwing it though. "… Well. Uh, honestly? Nobody's even tried before. Maybe they just love me so much that they're too nervous to come face-to-face again?"
[20:02:59] <@Flamme> Biiiiig shrug. "Problem is, the login interface is a bit wonky, the devs didn't give us a 'please select your character' screen or anything. Characters are tied to accounts, and obviously you have to register different accounts separately and all that jazz. The monthly fee comes with it too. Wanna go for it? Be my guest. At least, I've never seen the same face twice if that says much."
[20:03:10] <Faith_Dougle> "Well… I might make a second one to mule stuff around, just to let you know" and then an appending thought came into her mind "little ginger" and she giggled. She just didn't know she let it out verbally.
[20:04:29] <@Flamme> A stare, then glasses adjusted. "… Sure, go ahead and try it later. If you see me again, say hi, but who knows how well it's gonna work." Flying higher into the sky, it became apparent that she did so only to avoid the holographic displays that would appear, moving like a conveyor belt as they displayed different types of humanoids. "Alright, finish that stuff and we'll do this part."
[20:05:30] <Faith_Dougle> "Well, I'm done with dressing up the avatar… So yeah, let's continue."
[20:05:59] <@Flamme> "Hate doing this part after the dressup, some outfits just don't look as great when you're a foot tall or half-dolphin or whatever. But here are the races:" Descriptions of each one popped up, and she paused to allow for reading— even someone who talks that much was at LEAST that courteous. Also, the big display of stats landed in front of Faith a bit ago. It was still there.
[20:09:50] <Faith_Dougle> Well, at least the electronic sprite didn't know she was an actor. Hopefully. "Hmmm… I'll take the android-looking one."
[20:09:58] <@Flamme> "Pretty simple stuff. Origins are humans. The poorly-named 'Diminutives' are good at dodging stuff, look cuter, have to shrink stuff to use 'em. Sucks. Resonants are crazies who mutate based on elements, don't be surprised if you start seeing dragons made of fire running around town or something. Sentients, boring ol' robots. And these 'Ferals'-" she didn't have to get that far.
[20:10:27] <@Flamme> Actually, if anything, she breathed a sigh of relief. Ferals were weird as fuck and it was harder to describe them than to play one, even.
[20:11:30] <Faith_Dougle> "Hello, Miss Flamme? Android."
[20:12:12] <@Flamme> That said, the 'Diminutive' redhead typed a bit. "Aaaaand… click." With a button press on a holo-keyboard, the clothing on the doll changed just the SLIGHTEST bit. Not to say it wasn't the same outfit, but her eyes became a bit more… distant, and the body obviously a metallic one. The clothing, while still looking like regular materials, still accented that somewhat.
[20:13:07] <@Flamme> "Yeah, yeah, nice to know you hate these names as much as I do. Fight the power, I'm pushin' for nobody who actually plays the game to use those either."
[20:14:28] <Faith_Dougle> "Can I have the body changed to a normal-looking skin? But with more emphasis on joint servos?" She didn't like the metal body. It didn't go well with the clothes.
[20:16:25] <@Flamme> "Hmm.. never heard that one before. You make yourself a lot less of a pain in the ass than most, though, so I'll see what I can to." Beep boop blip. Some very faint changes were made, then some more. It was subtle, but it was definitely difficult to tell it apart from skin at first glance. An Android -> CAST transformation, if any. To the touch it still didn't feel incredibly soft.
[20:18:46] <Faith_Dougle> "Eh. Good enough. So what's next? Stats? Pick hometown? Get dropped out in the middle of Nowhere Desert surrounded by MVPs with only a dagger?"
[20:20:07] <@Flamme> "Well, don't forget we're not too far along in development yet. A lot of it's up to you guys. Stats would be nice though," she pointed to the glaringly obvious torso-sized file in front of the player-person with BLACK, WHITE, GRAY and sliders with pictures next to them. There was an 'OKAY' button on the lower-right of it, which more or less said enough.
[20:21:29] <Faith_Dougle> "You going to tell me what these things stand for?"
[20:22:45] <@Flamme> "It's right there." There really were brief descriptions. "BUUUUT I like explaining it enough, why the hell not: Black's for lovers, White's for haters, Gray's for powergrinding jerks who don't know how to have fun. That or people who just like to be boring, I haven't decided yet. Pretty much, all it really means is the kind of shit you'll be dealing the most damage to, et cetera."
[20:23:59] <@Flamme> She looked up and thought for a sec. "Wait, nope, that's just me. I hate White and love Black, forget that. But if you wanna be a goody two-shoes, White's for you, and Black's for awesome people. Alright, yeah, that's better, sorry."
[20:25:51] <Faith_Dougle> Well, thanks for the explaination and telling me where I was already going, shorty. Faith pokes the file in front of her, nuding the sliders to the side as far as they would go. 8 black, 7 grey, 3 white and she hands the file back to Flamme.
[20:26:05] <Faith_Dougle> "Here you go, Ma'am."
[20:27:52] <@Flamme> Shrinking it, she took it and looked it over with a nod and a button-press. "Y'know, I think I'm gonna remember you. You see all kinds of brats and whiners in this line of work." Her chair shot back into the sky as some more consoles were brought up, typed in, and slid away. "Okay! Now for the fun part— everyone has magic powers in this. So just think of one thing, ANY one thing."
[20:28:28] <@Flamme> "Can be the power to explode shit with your mind, levitate, turn into a bear, whatever, but everyone gets one magic power and as long as it's lacking enough in the stupid department for even someone like me to let you do it, you're all fine. Got any ideas?"
[20:29:07] <Faith_Dougle> "Mmmmmmm… Toughie."
[20:31:27] <Faith_Dougle> "How about a dummy body? No…" This was harder than it sounded…
[20:32:07] <@Flamme> "Like a decoy? I wouldn't stop you from doing it… not like it'd be able to take more than one or two hits or anything."
[20:33:00] <Faith_Dougle> "Screw it. What about a Active Detection? So I can know where things before they round the corner?"
[20:34:38] <Faith_Dougle> "I can't really think of anything beyond what I've seen in action games."
[20:35:22] <@Flamme> "Mapping stuff? Well, everyone can see a map of places they've been before, it automatically fills itself out. But…. sure, with that I could let you see a room or two ahead— hell, as a bonus I'd let you detect traps and see enemies and stuff I guess. No reason why it'd HURT, if it's stuff you'll run into a second later anyway, right?"
[20:36:35] <Faith_Dougle> "Sounds fine to me. Now are you going to drop me inside of a cave and have me fight my way out or something?"
[20:39:59] <@Flamme> "If you're gonna be like that, you BET I can drop you in the highest-level hellhole I can think of and leave you to fight with only your body as a weapon. The higher-ups actually let me do that." A wicked grin. "So if you DON'T want that, equipment actually is the last thing we gotta do here. First, it needs a type, like sword or gun or whatever. Element next, feel free to be creative."
[20:43:28] <Faith_Dougle> "Okay, okay. Fine." This was a lot less of a toughie then the last one.
[20:44:49] <Faith_Dougle> "A black and white crystaline rifle… And…" She scrolls through the list of elements… "It shoots beams of light."
[20:47:46] <@Flamme> A look-over with some typing and a shrug. "Easy enough. You can name it too if you want. So… Sentient race, Light element, Mapping power, blah blah blah… yeah, looks like you got it. All you need to do is step forward inside that mannequin when you're ready and then you'll get to the FUN naming part. After that… prepare to find yourself in a desert or something. Maybe~"
[20:50:04] <Faith_Dougle> "Well, I'll just call the weapon BINARY PRISM."
[20:50:24] <Faith_Dougle> Alright then… All that's left is to step into the avatar, but before that…
[20:50:55] <@Flamme> Flamme raised an eyebrow, though didn't stop typing away.
[20:51:10] <Faith_Dougle> "Thank you for your assistance, Flamme" and she walks into yet another timesink.
[20:52:42] <@Flamme> She almost blushed. And with a smile, hit a button as the last thing the newly-created character would see before stepping into blackness. And afterward, something much more boring… a large display with text in the center and a keyboard next to it. "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME:"
[20:54:28] <Faith_Dougle> Alright. Time for the usual as she types in "Solitaire" after her favorite mech.
[20:56:25] <@Flamme> Or favorite card game, as people will end up asking… just kidding they won't, people don't play card games anymore. They'll probably just think it means being alone. Except for, you know, the ones who actually drive their own giant robots, because those definitely exist in 2066. Just a thought!
[20:56:46] <Faith_Dougle> "Well, guess character creation's over" and she presses the ENTER key.
[20:57:30] <@Flamme> That said, after a brief "PLEASE WAIT…" and a 'blip' noise the screen disappeared, leaving behind nothing. And that nothing distorted into a something, forming colors and shapes. The newly created Solitaire's eyes would open to a brave new world… okay, no, I can't do that, that's not fair. Solitaire's eyes would open to a whole new world…

[21:03:34] <@Flamme> Bzzt. Static. Boring old static. Obviously, the reason static was so boring was because of the intense excitement that would follow… well, USUALLY that was how it works. At least, one could only hope that a game like this one would lead straight into funtimes instead of being berated by somebody barely a fraction your size. Can't always have what you want, huh?
[21:04:58] <@Flamme> But, at least it seemed to signify good things with it faded. Everything was black, and it was awfully calm, tranquil… except for the loud POOF as a mannequin appeared in front of the person who entered. A person who may or may not have looked like the most agreeable of people. And it started. Lauren Cameron Emmerich, 15, had entered the stage.
[21:07:24] <Fal_Lancer> Finally, a good few hours with no interruptions. It had almost been like a sign to get in on the game. Lauren had heard about MMOs, but never played them. Worlds where you could be anyone you wanted. It was exciting.
[21:08:46] <@Flamme> The mannequin stared, but the silence was broken soon enough. By some 'brrrr' noises of something levitating… and a woman's voice with it. "Well, you sure look like you're gonna be a barrel of fun."
[21:09:39] <Fal_Lancer> "I hope so," the kid says with a charming smile. "Is it true that I can be anyone I want?"
[21:11:14] <@Flamme> "Anyone, huh…" A wicked smile. Lowering a bit, it was made clear that the person speaking was about a foot tall, which said plenty. "Well, if even -I- can exist I'm sure the kind of things that can be provided here aren't gonna be too far away from expectations." She looked the newcomer over. "… At least, I hope."
[21:12:11] <Fal_Lancer> "Are you another player?"
[21:12:55] <Fal_Lancer> The player takes a step forward, and reaches out to touch the little fairy.
[21:13:43] <@Flamme> "Can't tell you that!" She spun around in her chair, but then made her facial expression into a much scarier one. "But as far as creation's concerned I might as well be. Name's Flamme, yeah yeah, pleasure t- whoa!" The chair fell over backward and the fairy-person inside of it jumped out, using her wings to keep her afloat— the chair disappeared as it hit the 'ground.'
[21:14:07] <@Flamme> "OoooKAY, we're gonna make things clear before we get started here, don't do that. Gonna give me a heart attack here, kid."
[21:14:09] <Fal_Lancer> "Ack! I'm sorry…!"
[21:14:29] <Fal_Lancer> "I-I didn't mean to, this is my first game…"
[21:14:40] <Fal_Lancer> She bows a little, "s-sorry…"
[21:15:26] <@Flamme> "Yeah yeah whatever, we get it, you're cute. Okay, make that thing cute too." She cleared her throat, and prepared to clear her explanation. "That mannequin over there— think and make some clothing appear. Dressup, whatever. There's ONE restriction but I have a gut feeling we're not gonna have that being a problem. I really do. Oh, and to go along with that…"
[21:16:06] <@Flamme> The race-conveyor made its way into the room, displaying each of the five races with some descriptions of them to go along. Flamme's annoyance was plain as day. "You're gonna have to pick one of those too. Have fun."
[21:18:05] <Fal_Lancer> Moving over to the mannequin, the kid gives it clothing with a wave of the hand, and switches through a few outfits before being distracted by the races. So many choices. It was almost too good to be true. "Oh, wow, I can be a monster person?"
[21:19:30] <@Flamme> Flamme flew over, still disgusted that she didn't get to sit in her chair anymore. It showed. "… Yeah, those are weird. Not a whole lot of people like 'em because the mechanics work in different ways, you don't get a lot of freedom. Thing is, you can steal stuff from enemies you fight and be more like them. Guess you could call them conformists."
[21:20:06] <Fal_Lancer> After reading through the description of it's abilities a second time, the choice is obvious. Feral it is. "They don't seem like conformists to me. They get to change who they are."
[21:20:09] <@Flamme> She shrugged. "Who cares about that stuff, though. We got a buncha perverts coming in playing bunny-girls and that's what most of them ended up being. Hardly any mermaids or stuff like bug-people. Creativity ends up working in ways I shouldn't."
[21:21:55] <@Flamme> Flamme adjusted her glasses and looked the weird-costumed doll over. "… Hmm, you may have a point. Depends on your outlook I guess, whatever. At least they don't have to frickin' shrink stuff to be any good. Do you know how many hate letters I sent to my own company? I bet you can't even count that high!" … Cough cough. "Yeah, alright, anyway."
[21:22:58] <Fal_Lancer> After picking the race, the player goes back to the avatar dress up, too wrapped up in it to pay much attention to the fairy's complaints. Giving it animal ears and little winglike skin on the arms, and a long tail with a bit of fluff. Then with a bit of concentration…
[21:23:00] <Fal_Lancer> Nothing happens.
[21:23:23] <@Flamme> "… Don't tell me."
[21:23:37] <Fal_Lancer> After trying a few more times, the player looks to the fairy, blushing a little, "Um, I can't… how do I change the, um…" she whispers out the last word.
[21:25:11] <Fal_Lancer> The player flips through a few accessories, nervously looking at the ground.
[21:25:12] <@Flamme> And then she smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand so hard that she actually sent herself tumbling backward. "Oh come ON, I finally think I get a good customer who won't have any problems and you wanna do THAT too? The hell's the world comin' to?" A clear of her throat, she tried to become calm. "… Okay, let me explain this, I really hate doing it."
[21:26:30] <@Flamme> "There's no bias thing happening here, it's, uh… that's how the game works. See, decades and decades ago there were these things called 'magical girls.' And a few centuries past then there were these shamanic legends and whatever of women being beings of power, witches, whatever. So… everyone has that same restriction. I had a few dozens of guys in their thirties coming in with beards…
[21:27:17] <Fal_Lancer> "B-but… I'm supposed to be able to be anything, arne't I…?"
[21:27:23] <@Flamme> … on their necks trying to play manly paladin warrior dudes or whatever, breaking the news to each and every one of them was CLASSIC. Like…" She pulled up some consoles, miniature videos in the background started playing. "Like look at this guy over here, see how he started CRYING when I said it? Oh man, I love this job so much-" Cough. "Oh, right, the news."
[21:28:45] <@Flamme> "… Well, the good news, is that outfits really aren't restricted. You can dress her up in cowboy boots and slacks or something for all I care. Buncha insecure dudes do that, and if that's your fetish you're fine to do so. People will probably think you're one of those beard-necks or whatever they go by too, by my own personal analysis here. Games of pretend and such, y'know?"
[21:30:58] <Fal_Lancer> "But… but I wanted to be a boy…" she says, heartbroken, "I-it's all I ever wanted…" She looks at the ground, and a tear falls to the ground. "I-I can… I can change the face and the, um… breasts, can't I… I-I can make myself look like one at least?"
[21:32:34] <@Flamme> A deep sigh. "Yeah, nobody'll ever find out. Full procedure would cost all your money and all your parents' money, it's no less expensive here than that laser surgery stuff and whatever is. Let's throw your grandma's money on there too just for fluff. But, everybody has the same restriction, so don't worry about THAT. Go flat as a board… even young enough to whever it doesn't matter."
[21:33:40] <@Flamme> "All that age/height/weight/eye color/hair color/style blah blah jazz is only held back by what your mind can conjure up. And, uh…" The videos blipped off. "I, um please don't cry in here, okay? Something might glitch in the system or something. Not sure what I'd do if a max-level dragon burst into this room."
[21:34:27] <@Flamme> A whisper. "… Besides punch its face in." COUGH COUGH. "Alright, anyway!"
[21:35:56] <Fal_Lancer> After a deep breath, the player resigns to it, and attempts to make the avatar as boyish as possible. A sporty face, and a few muscles. A chest as flat as it will go, some curly hair right out of a GQ magazine, and clothing straight out of Tarzan. She cheers up a little when she sees it. It's just like she's always wanted to be. Even if it isn't a real boy.
[21:37:52] <Fal_Lancer> "This is okay," the player says, smiling a little. "What do I do now?"
[21:38:46] <@Flamme> A whistle. "See, that wasn't so bad, was it? I, uh… will say surgery's out there, but even if you do get that done and come back here things probably still won't change. Depends on the complaints we get, they're up in the billions but the CEO said," she imitated a masculine voice as best as possible, perhaps not as well as the newcomer would need to, "'I'll change it at a quintillion.'"
[21:40:47] <@Flamme> "… Uh, anyway, okay. That's outta the way, so here's where you figure out how you're gonna beat stuff up." The typical file with the stat-sliders was enlarged and tossed, landing in front of the player's face. The cute, boyish doll stared at it as well. "Descriptions are on 'em, move these things around and figure out what your style's more like."
[21:41:41] <@Flamme> "White's up there for the lovers, Black's for the haters, and Gray is for homeless who live outside of the Domes and think they can catch fish but find out after a few days of not eating that they can't. Yeah, that sounds about right."
[21:42:17] <@Flamme> She lowered her altitude and scratched her chin about. "… Or alternatively, Gray's the neutral stuff that isn't really either of the other two, but that's a pretty boring description. I gotta keep tuning it up."
[21:43:11] <Fal_Lancer> That doesn't explain anything, the player thinks, and just reads through them. After a bit of thinking and tinkering, "White 7, Black 5, Grey 6"
[21:44:41] <@Flamme> "Risk-taker, huh? Sure, whatever, you can level 'em up eventually, keep that in mind before you screw yourself by trying to solo everything or something. That shit happens." She flew up a bit higher, as if waiting for something. "Hit the okay button in the corner over there or toss it back to me, then we can move on to the fun stuff."
[21:44:52] <Fal_Lancer> "I guess that makes me a Lover?" the kid says with a red face and a smile.
[21:45:47] <@Flamme> "… Man, you're adorable." With a VWOOP, a portal opened in the air, and Flamme's favorite chair popped out. She promptly sat on the seat and leaned back with a relaxed smile, spinning in it.
[21:46:51] <Fal_Lancer> Taking hold of the stat screen, the player hands it back to the fairy. "What's the fun stuff?"
[21:48:17] <@Flamme> With a massive groan she just tapped a button in the corner after taking it instead of reading it, considering it was said out loud. A few holographic keyboards and consoles were brought up, being typed at, and they were all slipped away. Relaxing in her chair, Flamme kept her eyes closed and went on. "Okay, here's when we decide what magic powers you're gonna have."
[21:49:22] <@Flamme> "Everyone has 'em, they can be all kinds of stuff from the power to eat people's bodies whole and transform into them to the power to control a world-sized golem so long as your toenails are in your mouth and you set yourself on fire… fortunately for writing's sake, nobody's played either of those. And before you ask, NO, you can't have the power I know you're thinking of. Move on."
[21:51:58] <Fal_Lancer> The kid's face scrunches up, but it's a minor setback. "Okay, then… what about being able to talk to plants and animals?" It's not the best, but if being a boy isn't possible, it's good enough.
[21:52:52] <Fal_Lancer> If the Ferals can take powers from enemies, there's still hope.
[21:53:36] <@Flamme> A grin, with a bit of typing on the side. "You're in luck actually, the devs did enough surveys and tests to where they actually wrote up voices for those things. That's not to say most of the MONSTERS you'll be fighting will have them, but… maybe a few animal-types might. What you do with the power's up to you I guess." She paused, as if expecting something.
[21:54:06] <Fal_Lancer> The player waits a moment, "what is it?"
[21:55:05] <@Flamme> "… Oh right, and trees are jerks. PLEASE don't go asking them to drop their fruit for you, okay? Last time someone tried that it decided to fall over, and the pain receptors in the whole neural sensory mumbo-jumbo respond faster than our recovery systems can so the player was in the hospital before they could get ported to town. Don't tell anyone I told you that, by the by."
[21:55:46] <Fal_Lancer> "Y-you mean I could die for real?"
[21:56:03] <@Flamme> "Hell no. But it'd hurt like a bitch."
[21:56:24] <Fal_Lancer> "Oh… okay…"
[21:57:06] <@Flamme> "YEAH ANYWAY, moving on from that stuff, let's see, what's the last thing here… right, weapons. I'm sure if you wanted to pretend to be a buffet of manliness over there you probably had an idea of what you wanted to hit stuff with. Am I close or am I close?"
[21:57:51] <@Flamme> She looked over the doll with a grin… and a bit of drool, but that got wiped up fast. "Just think of it and it'll show up, just like the outfit did. Give it an element too while you're at it; those things are pretty restriction-lite."
[21:59:56] <Fal_Lancer> First the mannequin manwoman has a giant sword, and then a sword and shield. Those don't really fit well, though. Two swords seems right, really big daggers. The player smiles, "I like this." With a few more tweaks, the big daggers fit better with the rest of the costume, looking like they were made out of dinosaur parts.
[22:01:25] <@Flamme> "… Huh. Most of the people in town are gonna be wearing the newest trendy fashions and wielding stuff like boomerangs with chainsaws on them or whatever, you're gonna get stared at. Then again… you know what, I'm sure that's exactly what you're going for, carry on." It was hard to shrug while typing but she did it.
[22:02:06] <Fal_Lancer> Hrm… The player changes the swords, making them curve a little and turning them into two boomerangs. "That's a good idea.
[22:03:11] <@Flamme> "Everything else looks green. I think you're ready to head out— oh, if you'd name those things that'd be nice for recording purposes but otherwise, step into that doll and there's one last thing you'll have to get done before funtimes can happen. And, uh…" She stared a bit. "… Yeah, just be careful, okay? I KNOW you're gonna get into trouble."
[22:05:07] <Fal_Lancer> The player blushes a little, "Um, bladerangs?" the kid suggests, stepping towards the mannequin, "and, um… I'll do my best to be careful."
[22:05:54] <@Flamme> "There WAS a name for 'em… ah hell, they stopped being made decades ago. Just get in there."
[22:07:17] <Fal_Lancer> Stepping into the avatar, Lauren becomes the boy she's always wanted to be. Minus a few key parts.
[22:07:50] <@Flamme> Nobody'd notice! And it may be even easier to conceal with the next step; a large screen popped up with a holo-keyboard in front of it. The screen was a boring cyan color. "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME:"
[22:09:24] <Fal_Lancer> "I get to make up a name, right?"
[22:10:04] <@Flamme> There was nobody to answer. Flamme had faded into blackness, and with it, her taunting voice. At least, the voice that was spoken with came from the avatar instead of the astral body— but, uh, it really didn't sound all that different. Too bad~
[22:13:16] <Fal_Lancer> Well, if no one will stop her… She takes a moment to think about it, though she really doesn't have to, and types in a name. "Kay Lancer."
[22:13:20] * Fal_Lancer is now known as Kay_Lancer
[22:15:29] <@Flamme> It was followed by a brief "PLEASE WAIT…" screen, which quickly disappeared. Names with 'Lancer' in them were probably taken by, well, actual lancers. Not like that really mattered anyway, since the idea of names being 'taken' was something SEGA had circumvented forever ago. More importantly, the world blended to become a new one, and Kay Lancer's eyes would open to a totally new place…
[22:16:01] <Kay_Lancer> What awaits Kay in this brave new world? A place of adventure. "I'm gonna become a boy," he says with a determined smile. Anything is possible, right?
[22:16:44] <@Flamme> Okay, NOW the eyes would open to the new world. Narration's trying to keep a style here, you're throwing off its groove. Cough cough. Alright, Kay Lancer's eyes would open to a whole new world…
—-
[22:21:53] <@Flamme> Bzzt. Static. Lame old static… or maybe interesting, unique static. Static had definitely changed over plenty of decades, and perhaps it looked like a totally different thing. Maybe static today is puppies and rainbows in the future? That's a nice thing to assume for the sake of interesting narration. Anyway, regardless of what it looked like, the static faded. There was only blackness.
[22:22:40] <@Flamme> The black room was a nondescript one, and was entered only by a person wearing VR goggles… only, they weren't wearing said goggles anymore. Not in the form of themselves they took. With a POOF, a blank mannequin appeared and stared with empty eyes. Ellen Mitchell, 22, entered the stage.
[22:24:04] <Ellen> Ellen looks around, confused. "Eh…huh? This game looks pretty boring. Why're you nerds so into this?"
[22:25:07] <@Flamme> Brrrrr. The sounds of something levitating— and with them, a one-inch tall person riding in a black chair. It blended in with the background. The face of the tiny-woman in it, however, was as bored as bored can get. "Hey, that's what I always ask!"
[22:26:55] <Ellen> Ellen glances over both shoulders before turning her attention to the tiny figure. "Um. So you're Flame or whoever? Matt said you'd do 'character select' or something with me?"
[22:28:10] <@Flamme> ".. Flame?" A massive groan. One bigger than her body, anyway. "Oh man, am I gonna have to write shit DOWN for these people? How forgetful can you frickin' get? Okay." Clearing her throat, she adjusted her glasses and attempted to calm down a bit. "Ruins the fun to tell the story, sure, but alright— the name's Flamme. Rhymes with 'Ham,' 'Flame' sounds MUCH dumber than 'Flah-may.' Crap."
[22:29:25] <@Flamme> "What I'm here to do is character creation, you— uh, you don't look like someone who plays games a lot. Call it a hunch. But, all you gotta do is pick a bunch of things and then you can run around hitting stuff and be the badass little girl with magical powers you always wanted to be. Sound crisp?"
[22:30:46] <Ellen> Ellen nods quickly. "Roight, gotcha. This mannequin's me, or what?" She studies it a moment. "It's a little girl?"
[22:32:00] <@Flamme> Flamme studied it too. "Well, uh… it can be older or younger if you want. Buncha old guys got me in the habit of saying 'little girl' all the time, not to even mention this fancy stuff in dead languages nobody even knows how to pronounce anymore." Ahem. "But yeah, that's your character. Spend some time thinking and she can wear whatever, look like whatever."
[22:34:10] <@Flamme> With some quick typing, five different images of five different races appeared. "While you're in the middle of that, have these things to help speed stuff along. Ask about 'em if you need to, I'll be up here." Takkatakkatak… okay, it didn't actually make those sounds, but sure looked like it.
[22:36:46] <Ellen> Ellen looks at the blank mannequin for a minute or two, and various clothes begin to materialize. The first thing to come into being is a plaid, 'Catholic schoolgirl' skirt. "What the… why's it so short? Pervs…" The skirt stretches to a more modest length, and the colors change to a green-and-yellow pattern.
[22:38:39] <@Flamme> A shrug. "Tell me about it. If I got to design those things… okay, actually, I think it was pretty cute how it was. Maybe it was just me? Okay, it was. Carry on and stuff, I think I'm gonna get these out of the way just so I don't have to repeat myself."
[22:39:34] <Ellen> It is quickly accompanied by matching green knee-high socks, a plain white blouse with a collar, and a green beret with a yellow pom-pom on top. The character's eyes change to light green, her hair to dirty-blonde, and a pair of black dress shoes appear on her feet. "Looks about right," Ellen comments, mostly to herself.
[22:39:59] <Ellen> "Oh, and I think I'm just going with human for 'race'. That's the easiest, right?"
[22:41:11] <@Flamme> Flamme paused in what she was doing to float around it, observing. "Yeah, I guess that's a kind of fashion. Much better than old pervy dudes slutting their characters up, or… other assorted weirdness." Cough cough. "Anyway, the Origins are the easiest to keep track of, yeah, but they don't really get to do a whole lot. You okay with that?"
[22:42:06] <@Flamme> The races stopped sliding like a conveyor belt, and closest to the player was a very plain-looking humanoid. Next to it a Sprite-esque person, much like Flamme herself, then somebody with arms on fire, then a robotic-looking humanoid, and then a mermaid. The narration tried to make it clear that there were mermaids.
[22:43:04] <Ellen> "Yeah, it's probably better I start off with the basics. Not like it'll matter too much, right?"
[22:44:15] <@Flamme> A shrug. "Guess not. It's playstyle stuff, some people have more fun not needing to think about everything. And then you see crazies popping in trying to play the most complicated crap they can find— I lost count of how many headaches I've had over it. Let's see, next…"
[22:46:51] <@Flamme> "Another yawner." Flamme actually yawned upon uttering the sentence, before bringing up another page and lazily tossing it to the ground, causing it to expand into a much larger version of itself which would need to be picked up before being read… probably.
[22:48:09] <Ellen> Ellen bends over and studies the page. "Er, huh?"
[22:48:53] <@Flamme> "That thing has your stats on it. Mix 'em around, do whatever. White's for lovers, Black's for haters, and Gray's picked by the same number of people as there are gi-wearing fireball-throwing characters in Street Fighter XVII that same out last month." A quietness to determine if she got the joke… Nope. "Everyone."
[22:50:04] <@Flamme> "… Probably easier to say that it's just in the middle and can't really be associated with the other two. You get 18 points, use those sliders to move them around and hit okay." Of course, the page had sliders on them and a big 'OKAY' button. Clearly Flamme realized her mistake of telling people to hand it back, because they always did.
[22:50:53] <Ellen> "Oh! Yeah. Hey, what does it mean too…" she pauses, trying to recall the right phrase. "Something like 'build' or 'stack' or whatever? Matt said I should stack Gray, I think…"
[22:51:39] <Ellen> She drags the 'gray' slider all the way to one side, hmm-ing concernedly as the other stats decrease.
[22:52:14] <@Flamme> An eyebrow was raised. "What does it MEAN? It means you're playing like it was still the 2010s and you don't know how to have fun. Give that guy a punch in the face for me… in fact, was he the one who played that stripper gypsy? Oh man, I knew he was gonna end up a total douchebag." Fortunately she'd trailed off into a mumble by the end of that sentence.
[22:53:40] <Ellen> "White 500, Gray 900, Black 400? Is that…" she trails off, noticing the little fairy's mood. "Yeah, whatever. Looks alright."
[22:55:24] <@Flamme> "'Whatever' is right. Don't say I didn't warn you about how conformist you'll look." With some typing, the 'OKAY' button found itself being pressed, regardless of who did the job. Flamme kept going on for a few seconds before letting out another bored "Okay."
[22:56:44] <@Flamme> "Good luck dozing through this one." From her tone of course, it almost sounded like she was going to fall asleep herself. "Everyone has magic powers in this, so think of something cool and hit me up with it— power to shoot lasers from your eyes, power to shapeshift into a tree, whatever. Limits are defined only by common sense— Yeah, I've had people ask for power over existence. Nope."
[22:59:08] <Ellen> Ellen cocks her head a bit. "Anything? I don't think he… Hm. So I just make up something I think will help me out in the game? That's kind of cool." She thinks for a while, seeming to weigh different options.
[23:00:39] <Ellen> "Ahm, I'm probably no good at this anyway. Maybe like… some kind of stun attack? In case I need to run away or whatever?" She looks hesitant, as though she's afraid what she's asking doesn't really make sense.
[23:00:59] <@Flamme> "Somethin' like that. It can also just be something you think is cool or want to do. I had one fatass come in, make the most pedophile character he could possibly muster, and ask for the power to see other people's underwear… yeah, sucker's gonna be stuck soloing." Cough cough.
[23:01:56] <@Flamme> "Honestly? Power's more vague than that— one attack can be done, but like hell it's gonna help you a whole lot. Or at all. If you want you could just totally have power over paralysis in general… though, uh, there'd probably be a drawback or two. That's the stuff that's a pain in the ass to write."
[23:04:16] <Ellen> Ellen grimaces. "Is that what guys get out of this stuff? I guess I'm not surprised…" She thinks a while more. "Maybe make it look cool, at least? Like an ice blast that freezes them or something. I know I'm kind of generic as it is…"
[23:08:06] <@Flamme> "… 'Cool,' huh? Yeah, that's cute. You're cute." A sigh as she wrote some more stuff up on that keyboard of hers. "Thinking about combat's what weapons are for. You can easily have power of whatever but with a weapon that stuns or freezes, 'cause chances are you're going to decide you don't like it and trash it soon. Power should be something that WILL help."
[23:08:26] <Ellen> Ellen sighs. "I just don't want to be completely useless. I think Matt wants me to play with him or something, and he's probably way stronger than you start out by now."
[23:09:56] <@Flamme> A huge sigh. "Oh, I know the type. I bet he wants you to play a healer, and that's definitely one of the powers you can start with… a really common one too. THE most common, if anything." With her head in her palm, she quickly snapped back up. With an actual snap of her fingers. "Hey, I know! Why don't you spite this guy and not ONLY not do that, but pick.. say, the power to read minds?"
[23:11:00] <@Flamme> With a wicked, almost childlike grin, she brought up a few more panels and nodded at them, causing them to disappear. "It's hush-hush stuff, but the neural sensors in this game are all connected. You probably could see someone's surface thoughts or something if you ask for it, and I CAN allow it… But, you gotta ask nicely~"
[23:12:05] <Ellen> "Wait, are you saying I could read his- er, other people's minds? Like, through the VR set?" Her face has a mixture of shock and delight. "Pretty please?"
[23:13:47] <@Flamme> She closed her eyes in triumph and hit a button. Just as triumphantly, a screen blipped out of existence. "Granted!" Afterward, some more were brought up, typing aplenty. "But be careful using it, if you do it too many times in a row or for too long it might overload the system and things that aren't good will happen. To be totally honest, the ability to do it is still in testing. Shh."
[23:14:31] <@Flamme> "… Don't look at me like that. You'll get it once you're OUT of this place."
[23:14:52] <Ellen> Ellen smiles and holds an index finger to her lips, nodding. This fairy-thing is alright, after all.
[23:16:41] <@Flamme> "Always good to stop a pocket healer from existing. Fuck those boring people." A loud groan… and a final menu was brought up, causing a blank sphere to appear in the mannequin's hand. "Now that I know you're combat-focused, design this thing. A weapon, anything you want— you name it. Vague crazy stuff is fine with me too."
[23:22:42] <Ellen> She smiles a bit, feeling more comfortable. "Nah, I'm not much for vague-and-crazy. How about a spear or…" An array of spears and polearms cycles through the characters hands. She stops it suddenly on a weapon labelled 'ranseur'. "Nice," she says, and spends the next few seconds increasing the shininess of the blade and adding a few ribbons to match her outfit. "This spear-thingy'll work, I think."
[23:23:53] <@Flamme> Flamme het her head rest on a fist. Obviously she was much more excited than usual, but at least made an attempt to continue being a cynical bitch. ".. Alright. Nothing too fl- okay that would be a lie, it's definitely really flashy. The more fun you have with it, more power to you. Can either keep default there or change its name… and past that, you're done. Hooray." Tiny fireworks.
[23:25:33] <@Flamme> "If you have any ideas on what kind of special power you want that thing to have, freezing or stunning or whatever, make it known now. I'll do some finishing touches, and when you're done, just step into that doll over there. And, uh… be careful with -that-, okay?" A wink. An envious wink, but still a wink.
[23:27:59] <Ellen> Ellen looks it over once more. "Too much, do you think…?" She shakes her head and smiles. "Whatever. 'Ranseur' works, I guess." She gives it another once-over. "I was leaning towards ice-stuff, but this looks more electric to me. Like a thunderbolt or somesuch." She shruges at Flamme. "Yeah, just go with that I guess."
[23:29:03] <Ellen> She smiles, and steps toward the mannequin. "Oh, and uh… thanks."
[23:30:03] <@Flamme> A shrug back. "Hell, make it both. Ice freezes, thunder paralyzes. As far as the mechanical effect's concerned, you can probably pick from one or the other at will so long as you're not trying to encase somebody in ice permanently or strike them with a lightning bolt from the sky. Keep it simple and… maybe just ONE half-and-half might not hurt. Deal?"
[23:31:29] <Ellen> A contented shrug. "Thunderfreeze? Blizzardbolt? Oh well, I'll work on it. Sounds like a deal."
[23:32:14] <@Flamme> "Good, that saves headaches from both of us… uh, maybe." Takkatakkatak. "Have fun."
[23:34:26] <@Flamme> Entering the mannequin would lead to yet another interation of the cyan screen, with the same display of "PLEASE ENTER YOUR NAME:" Of course, it would be waiting until she's ready.
[23:36:10] <Ellen> She steps into the mannequin, and when the 'name' screen pops up, Ellen hardly hesitates. "Paige Messerschmitt" she types, and punches 'enter' enthusiastically.
[23:37:47] <@Flamme> If leaningawayfromkeyboard.jpg were an image that existed in 2066, the screen would have posted it instead of "PLEASE WAIT…" Unfortunately, after the Great Reaction Image Purge of 2031, it was removed from the face of the internet alongside many otherwise notable others, meaning likely nobody knew what it looked like in the current day and age. That said, it displayed the latter.
[23:38:44] <@Flamme> Suddenly, it disappeared, and everything faded into blackness. And that blackness faded itself into sky, into ground, into… objects. It all blended together in a creepy blur, and Paige Messe… Mess… to hell with it, the narration's just going to use her first name. Paige would find herself awakening to a whole new world…
