Growths

Traditionally, characters may begin at level 1 with a total of 350% growths to contribute (as opposed to the pdf's 330%), as either a Trainee or first class with no bonus or penalty for either aside from the former's lower stats and ability to gain more levels. However, at the cost of 20% to 1 level, a character may lower their growths to start at a higher level, and at chargen PROMOTION IS FREE so it's entirely plausible to start as a level 5/10/1 Superjeigan with 0% growths if you're a retard.

Skills

Assuming you're not a retard, moving on: Personal skills are totally trashed and instead of 'Free' or 'Cost,' character skills are, as compensation, allowed 3 'slots' instead. At the cost of 50% growth totals, those 'slots' can be bought or sold to a maximum of 4 or minimum of 1. Skills are mostly 1-cost for 'Free' and 2-cost for 'Cost,' and some newly-added skills are able to reach as much as 3, but for more specifics skill costs are as listed:

Passive Effect
When making an attack, there is a Skill/2% chance to make 5 attacks that do half damage instead. No other attack skills may be activated simultaneously by the user when using Astra, but critical hits remain possible, as does the possibility of dodging individual attacks.

Luna

Passive Effect
When making an attack, there is a Skill% chance that the attack will treat the enemy as though they had half of their DEF or RES, rounded down. No other attack skills may be activated simultaneously by the user when using Luna, but critical hits remain possible. The check is rolled before the hit check, meaning it is possible to activate the skill but still miss with the attack.

Prayer
1 Cost
When the user's HP is under or equal to 10, their evasion is raised by [(11 - HP) x 10] until the beginning of their next phase.

Sol
2 Cost
When making an attack, there is a Skill% chance that the user will regain HP equal to half of the damage dealt by the attack to the enemy after applying DEF/RES. No other skills may be activated simultaneously by the user when using Sol, though critical hits remain possible. The check is rolled before the hit check, meaning it is possible to activate the skill but still miss with the attack.

Lords

If somebody is really desperate, having a PC be a Lord functions as per the pdf in that they sacrifice their stats for extra growths, however, it is now 40% instead of 30%, and it's strongly recommended to use that to start at level 3 because seriously. But that's just a suggestion!

The Continent of Cylea

Acaiah

Southern trade nation. Rich in resources, there is no shortage of exports for this merchantile nation, but they lag behind Sirrolant's industrialization. Acaiah has remained neutral in almost all wars in the past, often providing supplies and mercenaries to either side- unfortunately for the losing side, they often go to whoever offers the higher price.

Falchea, the tallest mountain in the world, is a legendary landmark of Acaiah. At its snowy peak, a small population of pegasi make their only known home. These fantastical creatures are bred and taken by the Kingdom of Acaiah and bonded to a human, often a young girl. These pairs of pegasus and new knight enter training and preparation for the life of a mercenary, which in the current times of peace equates to serving as a bodyguard to defend caravans and the like, which usually isn't a job that brings out a pegasus' full potential.

Sirrolant

Technologically, Sirrolant claims its place as the greatest in Cylea. However, its limited natural resources leaves the fueling of their machines a difficult, expensive question. In the past, they've subjugated other, less advanced nations in order to claim their resources; even more recently, they engaged in a lasting war with the smaller nation of Ordanon to the east, which would have ended in an overwhelming victory if not for the sudden revelation of conspiracy in the monarchy.

After the reign of terror was overthrown, the nation became a republic and political decisions were handled more carefully. This brought about an era consisting of decades of peace, until one day Sirrolantean forces invaded Acaiah with absolutely no warning. The past few months had been victory after victory for them, as they proceeded to reach closer and closer to the heart of the nigh-defenseless nation, yet not a single message requesting explanation for their actions was ever returned. Even their own troops question their motives, yet that doesn't allow their morale to fall.

Ordanon

A small nation historically known for their overzealous national pride and rich lands. Their size is inferior to the other nations and Ordadonians turning to mercenaries for Sirrolant is becoming alarmingly common. The nation itself, however, claims to be completely neutral in the current war and sends no reinforcements from its current military to either side. It is speculated that they fear their own lands being raided yet again as they continue to recover from the previous war.
